Hi Kevin thankyou for the series on neck shaping learnt a lot from them i am a retired Cabinet Maker and my hobby is making guitars and ukuleles i am a subscriber of your channel and love watching your vlogs of a highly skilled luthier at work from a fan in the UK , Thanks Kevin
I add a very small block plane to the arsenal for tapering the neck thickness from the heel to the headstock. The Veritas "Apron Plane" is a great option.
I did one neck on an octave mandolin kit and I didn't have a scraper. Where was this video when I needed it? I'm fairly close to hopefully carving my own neck soon, and this is good timing to prepare me for doing that.

Nice presentation Kevin. I agree with you on using card scrapers. I use them on all my wood projects and made many of them.😉
This video goes very well with your card scraper one. Certainly shows how well a good scraper can work.
This is a great series, Kevin. Thanks for breaking it into manageable pieces, and thanks for sharing.
You're very welcome. thanks for watching so many of my videos.

I should have done this one sooner? At any rate, enjoy your building and thanks for watching.
Very nice. I like the idea of using the scraper more. Have you tried curved scrapers to help with the neck curvature?
My experience is that a curved scraper is of no advantage and possibly even a determent.
