That's a helluva lot of knowledge, time spent in the shed, and awesomeness...in 5mins30sec. It wasn't a cutting session so much as two fantastic trumpet players hanging out and tearing up the stage. Great stuff
Dear John is not more comfortable than Giant Steps. Same chord progression, same tempo, and actually Dear John has a much more complex melody than Giant Steps which has a rather simple melody.
He picked the guy out of the audience so he also gave him a horn with a mouthpiece???🤔🎺🤓. That was some fire 🔥 solo from Sean and a technical solo from the audience guy
Sean Jones finally found his Sound and got his Style. After all these Years I can confirm he is a Trumpet Master . When you pick out a player from a blindfold then... he is unique.Especially, Sean plays phases, harmonically Link. He is not just blowing High. The other Trumpet guy is technically very Good. But He still has to combine his technic and jazz knowledge to come up with good Music .

Holy s***, who guessed, Dear John had been written as a comfortable version of Giant Steps :)
