Honestly I can agree with you on these points, but at the same time I'm ok with how the season turned out because seeing Nokt get all the elemental powers was so cool

This is the same comment I've told you about during yesterday's stream, but I'll copypaste it here for you to find it easily.
Tanner, listen to me! Everything the writers had to do is leave the Tournament of Sources for season 3 as a whole, not as part 2 of season 2.
Part 2 should have been about:
Wyldfire seeking to honor Kai's title of the Red Ninja by looking for a cure for Egalt's dragon sickness.
Nya and Cole looking for Jay, inevitably finding out Jay joined Ras and has lost his memories since the merge, hoping to help Jay in the Tournament of Sources.
Cole's story about the earth screaming, maybe have Zane be a part of that, because in my opinion Zane is LACKING in focus lately.
Arin and Sora would look for Arin's parents, and all of the previous plot/arc ideas would boil everything down to Arin finding out about Sora lying to him about what happened during the season 2 mid-finale.
The season 2 finale would end with the Ninja meeting the Source Dragon of Motion and being warned by her that someone or something has attacked the Matriarch Dragons and stole their horns, said horns having the power to bring back the BLOOD MOON...
I genuinely hope you read this comment and talk about it, or at the very least reply to me. we can discuss more ideas if you like!
Edit: I should have added the part about the ninja looking for a way to bring Kai back, but I guess that's already something everyone's used to and it doesn't need to be said.

I liked that scene because it resulted in Sora using the powers of ice, reflex and some others to create a resonance frequency to perfectly cancel out Nokt using shatterspin.
Its so funny because Kai found his love intrest in a tournament and then wildfire got hers, only she and roby are official.

I think Tanner is forgetting that Blekt said that the powers return to their owners at the victory ceremony. Nokt only got the powers bcuz the victory ceremony didn't really happen, and Nokt won and just ran off, fled before the ceremony could happen.

Well Lord Ras did incress the ceiling for how dark villains in dragons rising are going to be with how casualy he killed Beatrix's father and blamed it on Zeatrix so it kinda loses it's shock and seasons are right next to eachoter so it's not even like Kalmaar who's dark moment leaves sticks in you head becoes the last few seasons are comperable lighter and safe to that moment

We know that she inherited such powers from her mother (mentioned in season 4) which had to have passed down from somewhere right? We also know that ALL elemental powers are derived from one of 7 source dragons so hence I don't think her powers are artificial

The first master of amber was jealous of those with elemental powers, and so he made his OWN. The power of amber isn’t actually real, that power was made by a Metalonian blacksmith, which was passed down until it go to Skylers mother, then being given to Skyler, leading us to where we are now 🧡

Bro, even If the blood moon would rise unnaturally, they would still need a spell to open a Portal to netherspace. Now last time I checked, Bonzle is in Netherspace and with that not of use to Ras or Nokt. So they would have to go to Gandalaria to make a new spell which would take a long time and she most likely wouldnt even do it. So even wishing for the blood moon to rise again is the dumbest thing you could do because you could not make any use of it. I hope this was understandable. If you have any other ideas on how to free the Rest of the forbidden five, please let me know because maybe i missed something(btw. Everyone could say "the writers could have come up with something else").And as mentioned, the plot point was very cool to see, granted it made things obvious, but i personally didnt have a problem with it, i rather enjoyed it.
Agreed and to be fair at the time nokt was still under ras's control and we find out that ras wanted the elemental powers for somting else

Tbh, while the plot was kinda obvious it was still enjoyable to watch, personally i didnt see him betraying Ras or the whole sister thing coming, if anythings i thought he would have stolen them then Ras comes in takes them. I pretty much thought Ras would play a bigger role in how they would get stolen, so thats why it was a bit more a shock when Nokt stole them and when he had them it was still cool to see. Even if you could say, "Oh well, this is where the plot is gonna go." Seeing the plot actually get there is still fun. At least, that's my experience. It's somewhat predictable but still enjoyable
The series was never planning on making us think that nothing would go wrong, so that was intentional and in s4 Bolobbo, Jacob, Ash, Gravis, Chamillie, & Tox had no personality this season
At least Tox had a personality in s9 and dragons rising season 2.

The point for the blood moon was to free the forbidden five to compete in the tournament of sources to get all the elemental powers. Part 2 was never meant to be about getting out the rest for Raz. You are missing the point. Raz wanted to get to the source dragons not free the other 4 of the forbidden five. He probably didn’t think cinder could win so he needed strong warriors that could compete for him. Part 1 was him getting his team and part 2 was trying to create a dragon icon with all the elements but he was betrayed so you can’t say he could have just used the tournament to free the five because he only needed them to win the tournament
It was still very predictable that Nokt would get all of the powers.
@@KTWhatsup that was the point. He was going to get the powers to free the rest of the five somehow. It was obvious because they needed to bring back Kai. I’m not upset that it was obvious. My complaint with part 2 is that it wasn’t longer to showcase more of the new elemental masters.

7:45 The inicial idea in part 1 was to free ALL forbidden five members. As they only freed Nokt, he had to compete in the tournament to complete his own plan of freeing the rest of the five. Nokt never wanted to work for Ras.
Yeah tanner doesn’t seem to get that Ras only wanted to free the five because he wanted them to win the tournament for him and nothing more
bro i came up with a theory, cinder turned against lord ras because he used the wolf mask wouldn't it make sense that jay would also be loyal to forbidden five and because ras had lied to jay about his past isn't it possible for forbidden five to do same and get some of his memories back so he can hate ras for lying to him and that way they will make jay a powerful ally especially since he already knows shatared spin. And so I think that's going to be interesting and there's some logic to it.

I’ll play devil’s advocate here, I was actually surprised as to the reveal that Nokt was “in charge” and was doing everything behind Ras’s back, it definitely broke the stereotype that characters like him have had in the past!
Lloyd didnt tell sora to not use other elemental powers, he told her that she should use them in het own way instead trying to copy their previous owners style.
To be fair, one keys staple of writing, including in Ninjago. Is that the villains do succeed, at least temporarily or somewhat; Python awakens the Great Devourer, Morro releases the Preeminent, Nadakhan gets infinite wishes, Even Ras manages to succeed. He captures Bonzle and is able to free Nokt and Rox’s spirit.

I friggin loved part 2, way better than part 1. Maybe that’s a hot take but I will do my own review video when the series officially comes out.
Granted we did have the FSM essentially be given the Elemental powers into himself by the Source Dragons, and then he decided to give each of his disciples an Elemental Power, if I am remembering that correctly, so it was probably also a bit of a nod to that bit of trivia as well. And while yes, it was more or less predictable, we should remember that just cause we the audience have pretty much all of the information or get all of the information about the Ninjago universe. It doesn't mean that characters in that universe have it nor know everything.
How did Nya even open the portal, she didn’t have any powers and Riyu’s connection cannot open it

Riyu is most likely a source dragon with that kind of power you don’t need all elemantal powers
i like to think its because of riyu’s scales that were on kai which allowed them to communicate. therefore i guess allowed riyu to open a bridge to bring kai back.

Honestly, this has left us with more questions than answers. On a side note, the second half of Dreamzz will it comes out in September, since Rising is technically released in October.
I just think we are experienced enough so that we can predict the ninjago type of plots they give us

Honestly, I liked the power taking idea. This is similar to the tournament of elements, but it isnt the same, nor should it be. Let the tournament of elements be its own thing. The tournament of sources should offer something different, and I thought forcing the participants to use new elements was a fun idea. Yes, it spoiled the ending, it was obvious what Raz wanted. But it still held suprise, Knott betrayed Raz. We had Arin betray the ninja. Would it be nice to see the other elemental masters use their elements more, absolutly. But it wasn't what the season was trying to do. And besides, the show can go back and give a larger spotlight to individual powers in future seasons. They were just introduced here.
As for the idea of the source dragons giving the winner a wish. The source dragons do not interfere with mortals (Except for motion but this is an exception). Im pretty sure giving a dragon-ball style free wish counts as interfering.
Tanner is too stuck in the past. He doesn’t really like new ideas like the stealing of the elements. He is a fan of crystalized for god’s sake lol
And this is why I don’t view this as Season 2 part 2, I view it as Dragons Rising Part 4. The blood moon was just a part 3 thing, and the same can be said about the dragon cores in Part 2. Each part tells its own story, that feels separate from the other parts. I mean they changed the theme song for Pete’s sake. Do you need more proof? But also, I love the fact that elemental powers were switching, but I would have loved to see more characters trying to learn their new powers instead knowing what to do immediately.

I don’t know why no one is talking about sora’s spinjitsu. When sora was battling nokt she used a wonky form of spinjitsu like airn had.
7:45 this way clearly had some sideeffects.they even say that and also the tournament was well hidden and the only way people found it was because they were invited.

11- Zur vs Zane (what did they do to my boy Zane?) 0/10
10-Lloyd vs Nokt (weak asf) 2/10
9-Frak vs Cole (not even a fight, but it was alright) 4/10
8-Sora vs Cinder (not even a fight, but good interaction between the two) 4.1/10
7-Zur vs Frak (not relevant but I love these characters, and the fight was genuinely cool) 6.6/10
6-Cinder vs Wyldfire (the animation was gold, Wyldfire got done dirt by Cinder) 6.9/10
5-Nokt vs Nya (It was rigged but super enjoyable) 7/10
4-Nya vs Jay (If I didn't rewatched this fight it would be ranked lower, it really was cool) 7.4/10
3-Sora vs Nokt (awesome) 9/10
2-Sora vs Frak (perfect) 10/10
1-Lloyd vs Zeatrix (PEAK) 100/10
And I couldn't forget the one and only Kai vs Nokt (1000/10), THAT was Peak Ninjago.
Nokt solos the Ninja and elemental masters with Shatterspin+ all elemental powers if the Roby didn't show up with the elemental cup.

Ras, Jordana and Cinder could not hunt (they did not have the necessary power) source dragons. In episode 20 there is a sequence where the dragons are said to have been killed by Nokt and Ros who could practice shatterspin without the gong.
Honestly I feel like the tournament of the Sources should have been a whole 20 episode season allowing every new and returning character to have their own moments to shine. I don’t think this should have been part of season 2 to begin with.
7:03 Your idea has a big problem. If the winner can get one wish and Nokt can just want the Blood moon to rise again, what is the point of them hunting for the horns and the ninja joined the Tournament of Sources just to find out who stole the horns .

Your point that why didnt they just go for the tournament in first place for me there is a simple reason, cause the bloodmoon was earlier and why should he go to the tournament without a mighty elemental master fighting for him cause cinder can be stopped easily with rising dragon technique and jay isnt that powerful if you know what i mean. And i understood it, that ras wasnt behind the “dragon crown“ robbery and didnt even knew of that so why would he have known of that second option.
Plus his idea doesn’t even make sense because Ras just wanted the five to win the tournament for him, nothing more

7:43 I think Lord Ras didnt know about Nokts betrayal of him; when Nokt won, Ras was saying that they need to leave, but Nokt was the one who decided to go to the Monestary of Gates and bring back the other F5 members, so to Ras' POV, the Blood Moon was the only way to bring back the F5. Also I doubt he really wanted them, I think he just needed them for the Tournament
In the future I want an episode or a special just about the original 4 ninja doing a mission or something together 🟥🟦⬛️⬜️
I won’t lie, I really do not like how other elemental masters can now wield so many elemental powers at once breaking my logic at this point, in a bad way, especially how it now makes the FSM, Overlord, Lloyd, Skylor and possibly Wu and Garmadon way less unique now.
The elemental staff I can accept as you had to wield an ancient powerful tool use them all without literally exploding but being able to collect and transfer from 1 person to another from the elemental cup without any consequences to them is going too far at this point! Just seeing Sora use almost use them use them all broke my ninjago lore brain especially how Nokt use able to use ALL from the tournament like WHAT! For example how is Nokt not suffering from the elemental power of energy??? Did we forget what happened to Skylor when she possessed destruction? How did they already know how to use them naturally? Does the cup just immediately make them a master of it? See what I am saying? I can give more examples but I’ll leave it there or else this will be awhile.
Here’s how this becomes a problem and why I am extremely conflicted about it: If any random elemental master can now have an unlimited amount of any elemental power (which they never confirm there was a limit) without any consequences they might as well replace the FSM and Lloyd at this point. Like why even make their storyline from the past special when you just completely destroyed their uniqueness for what was introduced other that they are both oni and dragon. Also let’s say if Nokt having all elements from the tournament but then ended up actually killing Roby, no one would be able to use the cup now and if they pulled a plot armor card and Lloyd used it, that would be a horrible plot point. I can say way more of the consequences of what they introduced this season such as the temple of lights original purpose so on so fourth, but, my blood is boiling up from this and I think I’ll just have to see and wait for how they explain/address this problem.
Lord ras was supposed to free the forbidden five, to use them in the tournement, lord ras,s master wanted ras to take the elements somewhere. Lord ras plan didnt actually need the blood moon for a second time, the goal was to use the elemental powers for ras plan
I believe them foreshadowing someone going rogue with all the elements was to make the audience believe Ras is the main culprit not the rest of Forbbiden 5 coming back. I think this part was meant to setup Season 3.

Maybe I'm easily impressed, but I loved this plot. Nokt wasn't established any further than his power levels, his clear overconfidence left plenty of room for him to fall. What was clear, was that the fighters would clearly become OP towards the end, and they'd have to counter with skill, AND THAT'S WHAT WE SAW. Sora couldn't master all the powers before she fought Nokt, so she BUILT something that could because that's how she thinks.
To me, that was enough to not know for certain who would win. I knew the bad guys would get all the powers, because duh, but I thought that they were going to do that by forging their own dragon trophy from the stolen dragon horns.

I actually agree with most of your thoughts, as I said before, the new elemental masters weren't introduced to us, we know nothing about them. It would have been very cool if they were, but then if you think about it DR S2 P2 will be a copy of S4. And still your idea for the blood moon sounds awesome and will make more sense. The whole plot of P2 wasn't something exciting, except the cool battles and Arin's decision, it was more like a movie for loosing some time, so many misteries, no answers, it's like they will make 10 seasons, every with two parts for plot, that can be shown in four seasons, something like One piece. I hate to say it, but DR S2 P2 was a weak season

Zane could've used the rising dragon technique, Lloyd is kinda a bad teacher, remember when they lost Wu in season 7+, and they also lost elemental dragons and airjitzu, Lloyd is probably responsible for them losing airjitzu, probably because Lloyd taught using Airjitzu is not fighting fair or something

This is the first time I have to disagree on what you said, (I don’t want to be rude of course) but I think they structured the season really well. Yeah it’s sad that a lot of elemental masters didn’t get a lot of screen time, but of course they can’t really focus on that, even if it would be really cool.
I mean we have 9 main ninja in the team now (including Jay). Plus we had three different plot points to follow. What did Tanner really expect?

Ras didnt need elements to open the nether space because without nokt he wouldn't win, also if he had all the elements he would just create the dragon icon why would he release the five at that point
Is it me or Season 2 part 2 Tanner isn't getting it right. This Season is based on confusion. Sora was always looking up to Arin due to his potential but manipulated him to keep him close. Arin is held hostage by a Villain that doesn't know it's own history and is hungry for power it can't attain.

For me, this point was a way bigger issue with S2 part 2 : the difference between the plot of the two halves of the season just feel too big.
I like the tournament story, the new elemental masters, and don't really have any problem with the "winner takes all the powers" concept either... but in comparision of part 1, even with all the story continuations, this could just be a whole different season.
(The two halves of S1 had differences too, but there the change between them just didn't feel this significant)

I can't understand your issues with s2 p2. My opinion, s2 is the best season ever made.
While I do agree with you for the most part. As soon as they introduced the tournament and it's rules I immediately knew where this was heading. There weren't a lot of spins and turns along the way so it was pretty predictable regarding the tournament and Nokt winning/getting a hold of all the powers. Although, I feel like it was pretty interesting for elemental masters to exchange powers and use each other's powers. It is true that we didn't get to know the characters as individuals as much as we did in season 4, but if the characters keep their elemental powers, only fought with them and didn't gain any new powers I think that it would be almost a rip off season 4. I know many people love season 4 (myself included), I don't think we would love to have two season 4's. The power transfering is what I think made Dragons Rising's tournament be it's own separate different thing. Without feeling like the writers are running out of ideas and are re-using old plot points and ideas that sell well.
Also the tournament itself may be predictable, but all the other things happening around the tournament are pretty intense as well. If the tournament was super unpredictable and there were many twists and turns I think it would be very very overwhelming. After I finished watching part 2 as it is I still felt really overwhelmed with everything nonetheless.
It would've been nice though if the blood moon was somehow tied to the tournament or mentioned more in part 2. But ig we can't have everything now can we? Lol.

And about the blood moon, I think Ras just used it because well, it was rising, why not use it? And still like they said in the show, the new method they used in part two was more “exhausting” for the forbidden five to escape the netherspace (or whatever it’s called), while using the blood moon, wouldn’t had been that.
Plus Ras only summoned the forbidden five because he wanted them for the tournament and nothing more

His first step was to free them and than his second one was to win and third one was to dominate the source dragons

There were a bunch of powers introduced and now looking back it does seem like a mess again. But 🤷🏻♂️ also. Nokt only seems powerful when he has more elemental powers. As of right now, Rising dragon can counter shatterspin pretty easily on their own. I think Rox is more powerful at least right now. Episode 19 should be talked about more but it’s not…

Well, i agree that it was so obvious what would happen. I hate predictable shows. But the thing is, the method they explained to get the F5, Kai and Bonzle out of Netherspace is actually a concept they have already explored. If you go back to i think Season 9 Hunted, we learn that dragons are capable of traversing realms. Similarly, the dragon horns would logically be linekd to that. When we factor in that Nokt needed all the elemental powers to unlock the Netherspace, it makes a lot of sense. However, i wish they gave him the powers another way. Maybe make it so that he was developing some sort of tool similar to Chen's Element Staff that would let him drain the powers. Or maybe he'd steal aspheera's staff. Something different and unexpected.
One more thing I don't like about this season is how underpowered they just made Nokt. He only kept up with everyone because of the elemental powers. Shatterspin is literally irrelevant now. They hyped him up so much but he's ultimately just a regular guy now. Kai was taking him on with just a single elemental power, and it was actually a close match until he turned big.
