@31 we take a big that dropped. Poeltl and Olynyk are stop gap options while we're not in contention. Walter fits well. Him and Dick will be consistent catch and shoot threats for us. Their oddball movement will help Darko create chaos for Barnes and Quick to capitalize on. But like Barnes needed to get a shot quick, JaKobe needs to get handles and lock in on D quick. Him and Dick are gonna get torched daily. If JaKobe makes strides in D, he will be perfect for us
There is no such thing as a bad player in the draft IMO. Ja'Kobe's floor fits the Raps well and his ceiling well above where he is now. He's a great multi sport athlete and has a great frame. At the end of the day none of us have the same info/resources of the clubs. So, when I watch film of players it usually comes down to player interviews for me when I form my list of players I like. I like humble and measured and Ja'Kobe's interviews from highschool/college/leading up to draft were all impressive and impressed me insofar as he is a quality young man. I love the pick and can't wait to see how they utilize him in conjunction with the other players on the team. In round two I like a trade down for Mccullar or staying with 21 for Adem Bona. Just watched another video where the host felt that Ajay Mitchell is just a really good BB player that could be the steal of the draft. Also I think Adem Bona is an intriguing pick. He's only 6-8, but can jump out of the gym and is built like a truck, and the Raps could really use some size. Others include Furphy, Kolek and Filipowski. Should be really interesting.
I hope we let GTJ walk and start Gradey at the 2. Nothing against GTJ, I just don’t particularly want to pay the amount I expect he’ll be getting in free agency. I hope we can retain IQ and Nwora though. If by some miracle, we can get Obi Toppin since it doesn’t look like the Pacers are going to match depending on the offer, that’d be crazy. With the 31st pick, at this point, I think Kyle Filipowski is the way. He could potentially be the next Al Horford which would make him a huge steal at 31. Otherwise, I hope we trade the pick for a decent enough package to a desperate team. I could see a future pick swap or protected first round pick. Maybe a decent player that they don’t plan on keeping or if someone really crazy, a full unprotected first.
I'm pretty sure the Raptors will be able to retain IQ this season. I'm surprised they haven't had any signal of signing him yet. (but IQ may be looking to see what he can get on the market for the Raps to match) GTJ is very much a guy who's only really good at one thing and the Raptors can't really have that on their team. I'll be very surprised that the Masai/Bobby decide to re sign and keep all GTJ, Brown, and Poeltl.

Let Bruce brown accept Team option resign GTJ at 20m. I also forgot about the luxury tax. I'll miss the guy but seems GTJ will look elsewhere.
