Must say your vlog was refreshing. I've seen many other black vloggers who had less-than-positive experiences in China (ie: hair grabbing, finger pointing, taking photos without asking permission, etc). But the folks you encountered seemed genuinely friendly.

We were able to have a great experience like any other foreigner of a lighter skin tone. I couldn’t do the photos and extra comments, I would say no and walk away

I guess strangers in China especially tourists from other regions of China don't consider much about other people's boundaries. Although this is fine in China, but it's not going to end well if they are abroad. I just feel that it's really rude that when you're talking to a fellow countryman, some random strangers just barge in, asking for photos, without considering that the conversation had been interrupted.

其實開始的這個大姐主要是想推銷她店裡的東西吧，豫園邊上我記得有個市場，賣百貨和服裝類的，從視頻看得出，大姐只是為了想促成交易，所以套近乎問了一些沒有太過分的基本問題，她也蠻熱心的，怕他不知道入口送到豫園門口給了一張名片就走了！
