“How would you like that?” “Good, very good”. The waiter is asking him how he’d like his steak done while Steven thinks the waiter is asking what he thinks about the cut suggestion. This scene is so good. Steven is processing losing time and feeling crazy while still trying to put on a face and interact with the waiter. His eyes betray him. The acting is so gooooood.
This first episode was intense!!!! I am really liking it so far. The crazy scenes with Steven/Marc were wild. I also wondered if in the beginning were Eternals easter eggs(it looks like the same place were Sersi worked in Eternals.)
The Natural history museum is a different one than the British Museum. Given how broad the MCU is at this point idk if seeing features of World cities can be easter eggs anymore lol.
Something I loved is how they put us in the perspective of Steven throughout the entire episode. Because Marc is the main host body, and the one who was resurrected by Khonshu, it puts us the viewer in Steven’s shoes as if we’re experiencing his mental troubles and questioning of reality with him. Very genius imo. And I’m sure we’ll get to see Marc’s comic origin and becoming MK (or a version of it) through flashbacks. As someone who’s been a fan of Moon Knight for years, I was incredibly happy with how this first episode was, and love that they saved the suit reveal towards the end. Honestly gets a 10/10 from me
After watching this first episode, I now see that "No Way Home" was the perfect movie to introduce the next steps to the MCU. Sure it's the lead up to Dr Strange 2, but I'm gonna take another step further that Norman Osborne AKA Green goblin naturally introduced the split personality concept to the audience, to better prepare for Moon Knight. Especially the mirror scene at the end of the episode. ...Anyways, Great reaction guys! New subscriber here! ✌☺
This is both one of the best pilot episodes of a tv show AND one of the most insanely mind bending episodes of tv I have ever seen in my life. Now when I recommend this to people I will say DON’T watch any trailers, just do what Steven does and go in blind and strap yourselves in.
This was a good way of showing how involuntary alter changes are. For what I know about DiD, you can really lose days even when one of you alters decides to front. Seems Steven is a fairly new-ish alter so whatever happened to Marc to make Steven take over for so long must’ve pretty large trauma (which alters are born/created which is through Massive trauma). I appreciate the fact they (the host and alters) make an “Evil” alter yet. Again DiD is about managing trauma not causing it. Yes, some alters (known as Protecters) can be rougher on the outside ( aka in front while the host is in the mind). But, never straight-up causing problems on purpose only to protect the host and the other alters.
IT HAS BEGAN!!!!!!!!!! I was waiting to see you two's reaction! So glad Disney allowed Marvel to have a dark and brutal tone to this series! This puts a smile on my face 😌
15:07 : Jean-Paul Duchamp, a.k.a "Frenchie" Marc's best friend and ally. Also helicopter pilot. I hope he's actually in the show and not just an easter egg.
In the comics, there are four personas: Marc, Steven, Jacob, and Moon Knight. They represent the four phases of the moon. Steven Grant has had a bit of a downgrade from millionaire playboy to frustrated museum gift shop employee.
Highly doubtful ,Couldn't be any more uninterested after watching,, In fact the most interesting thing was the UA-cam ad that popped up while watching this video...
@@Pinkielover yikes, sucks for you, what were you expecting anyway? You aren't at all curious about this character's uniqueness to any other character in the MCU or do you want everything explained off the bat?
NOW THIS IS HOW YOU INTRODUCE A CHARACTER. Honestly a really good episode, the shift when steven and marc the fact we get to see khonshu in the flesh as it were. Steven entire arc will be learning that he has D.I.D. and a supernatural connection due to marc. Jason isaacs truly nailed this and i cant wait to see whats to come. Sidenote on arthur or ethan hawkes character seems to be an avatar of ammit/ ammut the devourer of souls; in egyptian mythology she eats the souls of those who have failed the judging of the scales which is overseen by thoth, anubis and maat whose feather the soul is weight against.
This episode was absolutely INSANE!🤯Definitely the best opening episode of a Marvel show so far. All the parts where he was turning to Marc and then it immediately turned back to Steven with more chaos around him was fantastic. We were just as surprised as he was
I noticed something really cool with the sound design. During the car chase, the first time Steven blacks out, the moment right before he snaps back, you hear a gunshot and glass shatter. Then the second time at the same moment, you hear another gunshot. As for the name, if they anglicized it, they pronounce it "Do-champ", if they go with the proper French pronunciation it's "Do-shomp".
My reaction to episode 1 was “47 minutes of WTF is going on!” Loving it so far, and looking forward to the Origin/Backstory to come. This series is going to be crazy. Roll on next Wednesday for both Episode 2 of Moon Knight and your reaction. Regards from a Scottish subscriber. 😊👍🏻🏴
Just finished watching episode 1; and getting a variety of vibes. Those guys who were after Steven; giving me Tracksuit Mafia vibes. That voice Steven hears, reminds of Venom. Uhm, is that a...Moon symbol hanging behind you? 🌙🌝🌜
Its not Sailor moon 🥺 But I can say it has peaked my interest with its style and the timing of ep1 I felt was really well paced. The glass in the sandals... 😳 heck no! Nope! Nuh-uh! ...I felt it 😭
Brought to you by Marvel in this series starring Oscar Isaac as Steven Hunt; an employee of a museum who suffers from a form of insomnia in which whenever he goes through a trance it results in bad things for everyone around him
I respect the fact that they came out and said that they saw the first 2 episodes already. Unlike a lot of other channels who dont say anything and act hella extra for the views.
One of the things I didn't notice, but heard about, was at the end, when Steven starts paying attention to Mark, all the other reflections disappear, and then when he accepts Mark, they call come back. BUT, when the wraps start appearing over his body just before the monster hits him, they're not reflected in the mirrors. No idea what that means, but it's soooo trippy.
This first episode was so good, intense I've watched it twice already, I can tell this show is going to being so much real fast the fact that we get moonknight figure in the first episode, overall I was so into it cant wait to see how this goes and excited to see your reactions

moonkights not even in top 3 sorry.. Episode was a solid 7 out of 10 Hawkeye was bad , but still better than this ,, The only Disney+ I liked was ... What if and Loki , the rest was Watchable but boring.. I'll catch it but I'm not gonna be here waiting for it at midnight..Mainly because there's nothing else to watch on Disney+ anyway
In the comics the gold man sitting on the bench is Crawley a homeless man who gives Intel to Marc and Duchamp in Marcs phone next to Layla is his pilot sidekick for mercenary Marc. The name Arthur of Ethan Hawkes character is a man who had 1 issue in the comics about some kind of attempt at Nazi stuff, this character is all different.
Harrow's goddess judges people on everything they do or WILL DO, and he wants to keep his scale even. So he does penance every day of his life by walking on glass to balance-out anything he might do to displease Ammit.
So. about the goldfish... Yeah, they don't die if you don't feed them for 2 days unless they were already severely malnourished or sick. Fish can honestly go for a long time without food. It isn't recommended, but it isn't the end of the world to not feed your fish for 2 or three days, or even a whole week. Hell, some can go for a month without food, even in the wild. But I guess the writers couldn't come up with a better way to give him something to notice that wasn't as it should be.
'm glad they didn't go the "Fight Club" route with portraying Marc's DID. This was also a good way of showing how involuntary alter changes are. From what I know about DID, you really can lose days even when one of your alter decides to front. Seems like Steven is a fairly new-ish alter, so whatever happened to Marc to make Steven take over for so long must've been a pretty large trauma (I imagine dying and becoming Moon Knight would do that). it’s only the first episode, but i love the series so far! and what i want to know is… was that really steven’s mother talking on the phone with him? 🧐
Would one of his weaknesses be to trap him in a place with no reflection? Because that way he shouldn’t be able to communicate with Marc/Steven or become moon knight, right?
Mirror s are just a cool visual way to show their communication... DID systems don't need a mirror to communicate they can just talk to eachother normally as shown in the show as well.
“How would you like that?”
“Good, very good”.
The waiter is asking him how he’d like his steak done while Steven thinks the waiter is asking what he thinks about the cut suggestion.
This scene is so good. Steven is processing losing time and feeling crazy while still trying to put on a face and interact with the waiter. His eyes betray him.

That's some solid commentary

I love how we see "the monster" that was chasing Steven is attempting to escape from the Fist of Khonsu.
imagine episode 2 covers Marc's pov during the scenes in ep1 when Steven blacks out
That would be sick! So down for that. I’m very curious
i couldn't imagine that
I thought it might too but it wasn't 😕

Oscar Isaac crushed this .. Phenomenal acting. The way they played with reflections combined with his acting made this a masterpiece.

love it also change of places outside new york
To Khonshu: How is Steven the parasite, when it's _his_ body 🤨?
Marc Specter in comics bad ass dude that's becomes Moon knight
There is also Mr Moonknight
One of my first thoughts of this was the mild Assassin's Creed vibes.
There is a lot of alligators shown in this in symbolism
Maybe they gave him "well-done" because he said "good, very good"...
And if i'm a vegan, i'll also eat the steak on well-done at first. XD
