I am intrigued by the pocket patterns. They are really lovely. I saw a video that historic clothing did not have pockets and they were made to wear under a woman's skirts, having an opening/slit to access the pocket. Neat❤ The Serenity Prayer is a must have, my Mom's favorite! Beautiful! I love the Father's Day floss and the Quaker Turtle. That is going to be a big boy!! 123stitch has an Aida Conversion table for FREE. I used to figure my fabric mathematically, but now I use their freebie = so much easier❤
Thank you for the nice shout out. Boone, I hope you enjoy stitching Quaker Turtle as much as I did. Now I need to frame it. Yep, it’s in the under the bed box. That’s no place for a turtle. I just ordered Beach Rat. Can’t wait to stitch it. ❤
Just joined your patreon and already love it! I, too, have a teenage man-child that could use the “Be not a dunce” in his life 😂. You two have the best sense of humor!
I’m enjoying seeing you both on flosstube. It’ll be interesting to see The Mr. 😅 progress along on his projects. And it’ll be interesting to see him work on some monochromatic patterns, just to seee what colors he will choose. 👍🏾🤗. I’m totally eager to get more of your patterns. I just want you to know they are beautiful. For Mother’s Day, I started A Study in Pink. It’s going to be a gift for my mom. So I’m really excited about it. And!!! I’m enjoying it so much that I’m savoring the stitching. Weird I know. But I am enjoying it. I wanted to ask you about framing. I want to learn how to do my own framing. I’m wondering, on the back of your stitched project, do you iron on like an interfacing to your project before pinning and lacing? I think framing is something really good for me to learn how to do. Thank you 🙏🏾 for all the beautiful designs you do. 🥰
Awwe, thank you so much! When I frame my cross stitch I just pin to foam core - no lacing, no interfacing, no sticky board or tapes. To me, pinning is the easiest way to get a professional looking finish. But it takes practice!! Once you get the hang of it, it's cake! 👍
During the pandemic when it was difficult to get overdyed, I used my DMC thread chart to blend two threads to mimic Garden Gate. I felt it was a good match then.
About the sticky backed frame...I'd touch base with the framer first. I've never had that happen. If they don't have a solution, I first thought of trying a baby powder perhaps? But that seems messy. The washi tape may be too thin? The glue may just transfer through? Or a strip of paper cut to the correct width to cover the tackiness might be the best solution. Just thinking out loud here.
Chemically speaking blues are the least stable colors, they fade very quickly when exposed to UV. What I remember about tattooing in the olden days is that they would copy a design onto paper using a mimeograph machine which used blue ink and wetting the paper and placing where you are going to tattoo it leave a 'ghost ' of the mimeographed image - think about school handouts in the seventies they were mimeographed.
To help get rid of the stickiness on the back of your frames, try using a cheap tiny paintbrush (like the one you get in the kids watercolor trays) and a small amount of corn starch and brush it on the sticky areas. Hope that makes sense. Love, love love your designs and UA-cam’s .
Can’t wait for the Weeds and Wildflowers SAL! It’s my bday month too, so figured it was the perfect bday start. I might need to start 2 & add your SAL 😉
Your new designs are awesome. I’ll be watching for the PDFs. I think you should go back to Hobby lobby and have them fix their framing job. The paper should go to the edges so that there is no sticky edge. That’s just a bad job.
If they were personal pieces I would - but we had to get them shipped to Keepsakes for StitchCon quick! So I painted a bit of clear nail polish on the edges and it worked quite well!
Fantastic video..love your easy way with each other..brought many a smile to my face & even laugh out loud at times especially when discussing your son 🤣….new releases are over the top perfection 🤩 WIP’s are beautiful you two are the best…. hi , from northwestern Minnesota
You will love the PNW stitch retreat. Look forward to seeing you there. I don't recall any bell ringing from last year, but they had an impressive brag table. I'm loving your new releases!
Gigi I just love all your patterns! Your borders are always amazing. I'm currently working on Geraldine's Flowers and LOVE it! I can't wait to get started on your new charts!
Heh hello from 🇨🇦 . Lovely work! And cool guy, what was your linen on the penguin stitch? Love the colour! Lol and what linen and flosses on the red deer?
Thank you! I am using Parchment by Weeks Dye Works, and a DMC conversion that I created myself. Boone can't remember the name of his aida for the penguin stitch, but I'm pretty sure he mentioned it in the first video that he did with me. He's still learning that you gotta write these things down!! 😅
Someone just informed me that your child (driver) is automatically included in your auto insurance if they live under your roof. I did not know that. I don't know if there's an age limit?
Our timing was too close - the pieces had to be at Keepsakes for StitchCon quick! I solved the problem by putting a bit of clear nail polish on the sticky edge. Worked in a pinch!

Awe, thank you so much Teri!! Teen boys are ... very special. 🤣

Interesting! Tattooing isn't what it used to be (thankfully)! 😜💕
Boone, those borders can be tricksters!

Yayyy! I hope you enjoy it - and happy birthday (2 months early)!!
Hi so enjoying your videos. I would get some clear varnish and paint over the edges. Hope that helps.
That is a great idea! And the most permanent. Love it!
Fun video. I look forward to meeting you at PNWSS in Portland
Thanks, Kim - I look forward to meeting you as well!
Yay, a designer from behind the Pine Curtain! Spent several years in Center, Tenaha, and Garrison.
Ha! I haven't heard of it as a "Pine Curtain", but that sure rings true! Love these pine trees - it's why we chose this area!

Love the two of you doing videos together. I’ve joined your Patreon and am so excited to see what you will be designing and the upcoming SAL!
Thank you, Kristine! I'm looking forward to the SAL, too!!! 🤗❤

I won't miss the bell! 😂

Thank you, Karen! You're too sweet!! ☺💕
Loving you two together in these videos! That flamingo is a favorite!!
Thank you, Kim! ☺💕 I think I have him hooked on the fame and fortune of flosstubing - there's no going back now!! 🤣
Thanks for sharing all the projects !
☺💕
Add some pretty scrapbook paper to the back to cover the sticky portion of the frame
Great designs
Barb
Thank you, Barb! I like the idea of it being decorative and pretty, even if it's the backside!
A true artist!
☺💕

I think some denatured alcohol used very judiciously should get the sticky off
Good idea! Thank you!!
Hah - i did the penguins, loved it
I think you should return the frames to the store because obviously that’s not done correctly. They should redo them at no charge.
I thought of that, but they need to be in the mail this week to get to StitchCon on time! I'll make it work - I'm scrappy!! 😂
Oh no! Now I am worried my Ruskin’s Penguins border is messed up….
Ack! I'm sorry! Actually I'm sure you are just fine and counted really well.. :)
😬 Oh, shoot!!
I bet your counting abilities far exceed those of Boone, not too worry! 😉
Crisis adverted! I checked and I have not got to the middle of the border yet! When I pick it up again I “should” remember to proceed with caution!
@@forestcitystitching That news makes me exceedingly and unreasonably happy!! 😊💕
♥️♥️♥️

the EU is suing Apple for this very reason - monopoly this - get a clue Apple - Closed iOS s safer but is that worth 30%?
Teresa Kogat has a great patreon shop. Perhaps pick her brain 😊
Her shop isn't through the Patreon platform, it's on her own website. I think that might be the only way to do it!
