    I’ve struggled for years to keep things from accumulating on my bed. I have leukemia so I spend a lot of time in my bedroom and I can’t seem to stop myself from letting things pile up on my bed. 😫 One of your other videos where you used command hooks to organize things encouraged me to try to find ways to solve my problem and I did!! I put command hooks on the back of my headboard (upside down like your wreaths) and I put a small garbage bin with a strap (made to hang on things in vehicles) on that hook so it hangs down on the front of the headboard so I can reach it but high enough not to get in the way of the pillows. I also put two more hooks on the back of the headboard and made some straps to hold a small basket to put mail, pens, and other random things that would otherwise accumulate on the bed, in so it keeps them off of the bed and makes it very easy to unhook the basket and put everything away whenever I feel well enough to do it. I’m so happy with my new system and love your videos that gave me the idea! 😁 Thank you!!!

    For the hack of hanging the pictures, I use the velcro ones, which makes it easy to change anything out whenever you want, either within the frame, or to change out a different picture/frame. And for the kid art clothes pins, you can let your little one paint or decorate the clothespins. There are some really cute crafts out there to transform a clothes pin to a little dragon with some paint and felt, stuff like that. Thanks so much for all of your awesome tips. 😊

    I have a little tip for the clothespins you use. A super quick way to make them decorative, is to add washi tape on the top part.

That way it’s not hanging from the mirror, or sitting on a seat. Fantastic video in every way!
    I store my broom in the small space created by the refrigerator but it would always fall all the way back to the wall that goes behind the fridge. I have "t-rex arms" as my kids say so this is a problem. After 20 yrs i finally have a solution! I have used a command hook as a stop for my broom. I actually put the hook sideways with the scoop of the hook facing the storage opening. Now I set my broom in there and the handle slides and rests against the hook. Ready and waiting for the next time I need it!

  • @lynnkavanagh7361
    @lynnkavanagh7361 3 роки тому +2

    I LOVE you're idea about taking the little shelf while you're traveling to have a place for your baby monitor. Another use for that little shelf, would be to have a place to put your cell phone while your charging it. I have found that in a lot of hotels or motels, the extra outlet to charge your cell is at the bottom of the wall so you have to put your cell on the floor. By using the little shelf you can place it higher on the wall, as long as the distance isn't longer than the charging cord. You've got some great ideas & made me think of my dad who passed away 15 years ago, when you talked about clothes pins. He used them for everything. One of the ways he did, was eating out in a restaurant. He always carried one in his pocket & would clip his napkin on his collar, so he wouldn't get food on his shirt. My sister's & I were always mortified when he did this. But when he passed away, my youngest sister found some mini ones so we all wore them like a lapel pin during the funeral services. It made us all smile.

    Thank you for these. As a lifelong renter, I can't make anything too permanent. My 2 favorites are the bathroom "good when wet" soap holder (been up for MONTHS), and their "metallic" hand towel bar because my bathroom had no place to hang a hand towel next to the sink. Plus, it's cheap enough to leave behind for the next tenant because it looks so nice.

    Ahh. The trash bag issue. It's like the Bermuda Triangle of "Not My Job." That, and It's full, and the other 3 people (all giant, tall, intelligent dudes) will stack boxes, cans, etc up to the sky rather than pull the bag. And I leave extra bags there 99% of the time, so it's fairly simple. I have to ask to have someone pull it and run it out, under the negotiation of me putting the new bag, while I'm baking or cooking and need somewhere to put the trash/stuff I'm needing to toss. **sigh** I couldn't love these folks more but dang it. The trash bag struggle is real. :) And a side comment: The cord bundler clip thing - that's genius. This is my first time seeing that and I have semi-permanent "WOW" face. Neat!

    I totally agree with your statement that the more you use Command Hooks, the more uses you dream up for them. I have just about anything on my walls using Command Hooks in one way or another. I discovered those when my daughter went to college, and thought they were the most amazing invention ever. I hope whoever invented them got a really hefty raise! Ever since, they find their way on my walls in so many ways. From hanging pictures to hanging curtains with no holes left in walls. Thank you for bringing these to the public's attention big time. 😁

    I love command strips and hooks for the most part. Though they don't always work on certain surfaces and having them near an oven or stove can warp them or the glue dries up. I've also noticed that the longer they are in use the harder it is to remove them. I've had many strips on the back of hooks just break off half way through taking them off. Anyway I love your videos and your hacks they are so helpful. I hope you are doing well and staying safe and I hope you have a wonderful week.

      @@jddr555 I have used a strong sewing needle to hang a picture in the wall . Hammer it in at a 45 degree angle; this has worked for years on several pictures. If you remove the needle, the small hole is barely detectable and can be filled with, believe it or not, toothpaste. Always be aware of picture weight and if someone would be sitting or sleeping under the picture. Screws may be your safest option for hanging in that scenario. I also love using Command Strips. In my RV, I have used the hooks to hold my husband’s hats, the dog’s leash, small photos, towels, the list is endless.

      I did something similar except on the lid instead of command hook I punched a hole in the lip of the lid. Then I threaded paracord through the hole and tied a sliding knot called the adjustable grip hitch to form a loop. This loop would then hook around the command hook on the main body of the trash can. The sliding knot could then be used to tighten or loosen the loop and therefore tightening the lid as well. This set up was done on both sides of the trash can. It worked perfectly.

I have 3 different size curling irons, which I can place in 2 of the spaces (2 smaller ones in one spot, and the bigger one by itself in the second), my hair straightener which I place by itself in a 3rd, and my blowdryer and their attachments fit in the napkin bin on the caddy. 2.
