I asked a Columbia student to RANK the 8 Ivy League Universities! Harvard, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania (Penn), Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth College, and Yale
To the high schoolers and young people that I imagine watch these videos types of videos, please do not put too much weight on a university’s ranking when making your decision. It’s nearly impossible to objectively rank a university and most of, if not all of the ranking methods are flawed in some way. In academia these rankings are NEVER considered and some of the best research is coming out of schools that a lot of students will write off due to their ranking.
To all the highschoolwrs and young people reading these comments from losers who never tried hard in school. Don’t GIVE UP! Shoot for the stars. Don’t let bums like this kid discourage you from applying to these schools. Most people who don’t go to college always regret it.
agreed. these rankings differ drastically depending on what major you are going for. For example, although Cornell is generally a "a lower ranked" ivy, it, along with Princeton, are considered to have the best education for engineering among the ivies. I'd say that for those applying to colleges, you should focus on what colleges are best for the major you want to pursue and many times, there are schools better than ivies.
