Ramly is just the brand of the meat patties. Each stall cooks and prepares the burgers differently. So... some stalls are great, some are not 😁
agreed
Totally agreed!
Totally Agreed...
the more messy the burger, the great the taste 😂
Sorry org Penang, 3 tahun duduk Penang sbb pindah ikut suami Kena transfer tmpt keje KL ke penang, burger dorg mmg lain, roti bun 4 segi manis, terlalu bnyk kicap hingga hilang rasa daging 😅 rasa tu xtau nak ckp mcm muka jimmy tu..😂 ichang Kena Cari kedai ramly Baru boleh rasa daging burger yg pure rmly
Love how genuine you are. If the taste is not up to your standard, you describe it in a very proper way. Great job ichang ❤️❤️
Should try it a second time, this time ask them to only use a little mayonnaise and a little bbq sauce, leave out the chili sauce.
@@iskandartaib my burger ramly, no pepper, no mayonese, extra margerine on the bread, meat well done and cili sauce 3 drops only 😊
Yes i prefer ramly burger which is not full of sauce. I dont like it. I prefer mayonise and only small amount of sauce.
batang pinang is the malay translation for beef tenderloin, which means that he's telling you that the homemade burger was made from that part of the cow.. he's also joking with you when he said "bukan batang nyior".. he means that it's not from coconut tree log (batang nyior)
Actually Ramly meat patty has its own taste. You can buy just the patty at any supermarket, cook and eat the patty on its own. Then you can taste the original flavor of Ramly without all the sauces! Its gooddddd!😋
First time watching both iChang and Jimmy being confused over the taste of the food. Street burger stalls always flood their burgers with multiple sauce to the extent where the taste of its meat patty is hardly recognised. Next time you should tell them to put less sauce.
Having burgers as midnight snack is actually good for building extra tummy fat.
I always ask them to put little to no sauce. It's overpowering, sloppy and junky. Afterall we wanna taste the meat, the crust on the patties and bread, the butter, not just mayonnaise, chilli or black pepper
Exactly this. I never understood why they put so much sauce til you can't even recognise what meat you're eating! My self, every time i order a Ramly, i make sure to tell them to put less sauce.
@@vincenttan6303 omg so true, even im malay i dont like overflowing sauce, just a minimal amount is fine then you got the perfect taste of ramly burger
Yes. Easier to just sell bread and sauce. Why waste time cooking the patty. This is Malaysia. LOL
I like both of you giving honest opinion. Me too don't like too much sauce. I always request lesser sauce & lesser cabbage/onion so that I can enjoy the original burger taste.
I always order less sauce
@@cikguwawa6883 same here 🤣
same,,, i cant enjoy it with that too much of sauce..
next time order burger ayam kosong 😆 see how the boss looking at you 😁
Agreed. Also too much curry powder nowadays that I usually opt out too
Suka tengok cara ichang menikmati makanan...dia menggambarkan kesedapan, lazat, dan syukur setiap kali makan. Sampai aku pun rasa terliur...salute!
Why this ‘Malaysian burger’ aren’t dry & less sauce like western burger? Because Malaysian treat burger like rice! Full of gravy/sauce & strong flavour 😂
Agree..
✅👏
Another way to say it, we loves flavourful foods. Western people don't like flavour 😝
I personnely like everthing banjir accept for my burgers + steak.Even my nasi putih sometime look like soup.
For me,I want to taste the patty of the burger.I do not want the sauce to overshadow its patty taste.Same goes with steak or any fried or grilled meat.
But this is just me..Setiap org citarasa berbeza.Feel free to disagree.Enjoy your food your own way.
Everytime I ordered street burger I always ordered with less sauce. That way you can still enjoy the taste of meat patty.
You know Malaysian.. very generous with sauce 🫢

Don't worry iChang and Jimmy. As a Malaysian, I too, sometimes feel confused when they put a lot of sauce in my burger. Sometimes I'm cannot process whether am I having a sauce burger or chicken burger 😂
same as me..i dont know why all selling burger put 2 layer chili sauce..
For me these burgers taste better without chili sauce. Just buns, meat patty, veggie, grilled onions, white pepper and maggi seasoning are perfect 👄👌🤤
i agree with u, i dont know why some stall sell it like that, it makes the bread soggy and overcome the patty taste
@@firdauszany2873 Agree with you. 1 layer of sauce is enough. Cannot brain when it's banjir with sauces.
@@v3is748 Almost like Burger King's Whopper 😂 Just that BK's Whopper still have a little bit of sauce so that it wont be too dry to eat. Other than that you can taste everything.
As a Malaysian living in the UK, I love all standard western burgers and Malaysian street burgers. But I can understand why street burgers can come as a surprise to foreigners as it’s usually drenched with sauces and it can get really messy when eating one. Ichang explains well and I love how genuine and respectful you are your comments ❤
it s the speciallity of our Malaysian burger. If it not *sloppy* its not *malaysian burger* .😊
Malaysian people like more sauce at burger ..and we don't like burger without sauce
Correct, malaysian taste burger always more sauce, spicy always the best for malaysian.
Some time ago I had a thought regarding food in this 21st century. The highest value are nutrients (protein, freshness, etc), second is flavour (spices, herbs), and third are calories (sugar, flour, fat). Back then before the industrial revolution, the sign of poverty was being thin. Nowadays one indicator of poverty is obesity, where one is able to acquire calories, but not necessarily nutrients. Vaguely related to Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. But anyway our human civilisation is progressing. Having lower quality calories is infinitely better than having no calories. Id rather be a middle class in this century than be an aristocrat in the 16th century still shitting into boxes and having questionable healthcare

5:28 Daging Batang Pinang - tenderloin / sirloin meat
9:00 Daging Harimau Menangis - location of meat is near to sirloin, in the middle of the back bone/rib, if not mistaken.
Directly translate "daging harimau menangis" would be "tiger cries meat" - because even tiger's teeth could not reach this part of the cow, so the tiger cries
😁😁😁 So it's the most tender and easy to cook meat.
i was today years old when u told the meaning behind "daging harimau menangis" lmao 😂
@@ggumalover thats what it means
About the sauces, we Malaysian really generous about the sauce. Some may prefer lots of sauce, some prefer less sauces, you can request to the shop for a less saucy burger 😉
The perks of being in malaysia. Sauce is free. Banjir is also still free
11:50 Just so you know, we usually say "TAK NAK BANJIR" to get less sauce when order street burger. I do enjoy the beef more when the sauce is lesser
Glad you guys reacted honestly.
That's the spirit. Proud of you guys!
One of the man things I don't understand about many food bloggers (indeed and about one in four people I share dinner with) is all the questions about the food and the need to express your 'choice' about what you eat. I'm from the school of thought where you just take what you get. It is not like you have the language skills or the cultural knowledge to actually make a meaningful choice right? Nine times out of ten I just go for 'Berikan saya hidangan tandatangan anda' or 给我你的招牌菜. It works a treat for me
I don't like eating burgers .. but the way you are eating makes me feel like having them . You have a safe and wonderful day ❤️
Next time if u wanna try to eat burger again, u just simply ask them not to put so much sauce or dont put it at all so that u can enjoy and taste a real burger taste. Malaysian really loves their burger with a lot of sauce like how they love to eat nasi with so much kuah/gravy. I also didn't like my burger to be serve with a lot of sauce because i wanna enjoy my burger with their own juice from the patty. Anyway, u guys almost completed your food journey in Malaysia by eating ramly burger lol 🤣
Thank you my dear iChang and jimmy for your four videos in a week, its really make me happy...🥰
It's a good experience even if there's too much sauce. At least you have tried the road-side stall version of Malaysia's burger instead of burgers from fast food chain restaurant which not many have tried before. Hope to see another video of iChang and Jimmy trying out other burger stalls, but this time, customise to your taste.
🍔👍
Love how you respect and appreciate the food although the taste may not be your favorite
I always ask for less chili sauce because it'll overpower the meat flavor. Love the honest review.
I hate burgers with sauce. They should make it by default less sauce. Those who wants more sauce can ask for it. If not many tourist will get surprised and hate it.
Glad you enjoyed our Street Food. Do continue to explore the delicious Street Food in Malaysia.
Almost all of Japanese Engineers from my former company put on weight while working here.

I just wish you both the best in Malaysia. Keep on exploring and enjoying our country. I know it’s hard in the beginning cuz it’s a huge decision, but hopefully as time goes by yall will feel at ease especially iChang 😊♥️ Lots of love ♥️♥️
Always love your vids. Big love from Malaysia❤️
Omgggg so muchhh videossss this weekkkk!! im sooooooo happyyyy
Best ever burger which you are unable to find in other countries 😋
I feel proud to born in Malaysia with all these delicacies
Sokay ichang, next time request for less sauce🥰🥰 we Malaysian like a lot of sauce🤣🤣
I like the honesty. Keep up the good work!
It's beautiful how there are being so polite to voice out their opinion without being bluntly disrespectful...
POS burger has been around for a long long time and it does seem to be less popular now, the stall in front of McDonald's sungai ara is another great choice in Penang. Excellent to see that you're sampling different spectrums of food here!
yes, the one that has coleslaw!
You mean Sungai Dua?

A must have burger - Ramly Burger! And somehow, in my humble opinion, the ones in Malaysia taste so much yummier than the ones in Singapore and I dunno why 😩 (and I am a Singaporean).
I heard in Singapore they don't use ramly brand of meat patty.
For me, it's the opposite. I like the Singapore patty better but the Malaysian way of cooking it.
@@michellchin5338 there was a time when it was difficult to get Ramly burger patties (no idea why though) but have seen them recently at the pasar malam. I sure hope they are legit Ramly burgers but somehow the taste like not the same compared to those I had when in Malaysia. Maybe it’s just me 😅
@@michellchin5338 they said Ramly's too fatty. Not a healthy choice. But, in my opinion they don't want Singaporeans to spend on Malaysian's import. Keep the money on local products.
It's only a political issue and Ramly's burger is the unfortunate victim.
@@monkeymonk2081 I just think it’s ridiculous. If food is good, you buy them and eat them. How can they politicise food it’s st****. Well no matter. Singaporeans will flood Malaysia anyway.
I love how genuine both of you with your review.. my husband loves this kind of burger with lots of sauce.. but normally I will only ask for a little bit of mayo.. then u can really taste the meat and egg.. 😋
Omg...my mouth is watering. Hankering for a burger now. The sellers tend to put lots of sauce on the bun or burger. I usually make my order of daging special, no mayo, tak mau sos melimpah. Usually they put bbq and chilli sauce. If you want ketchup, you have to request earlier.
Would like to try the home made patty. I have tried deer burger before and it is delicious.
The thing with going overboard with the sauces is actually because of the patty. Ramly patties have barely any meat; mostly fillers, so they'll cook up into a dry hockey puck. That's kinda where the sauces come in.
honestly the patties is all trimmed unwanted excess fats, its nice to eat once in a while only because it is very unhealthy tbh. But its a good choice for a cheap supper
Hi iChang & Jimmy! This was a lovely video featuring your first experience with ramly burgers (love how genuine your reaction is!) My gf and I enjoy watching your videos, and yes, we agree sometimes it can get a bit too saucy. maybe that's why less is more 😂or maybe it's an acquired taste for us locals since some of us grew up eating ramly burger :) our favourite and go-to patty from ramly is the chicken patty, and if you happen to give Ramly another try, maybe can try the chicken one too!😊
Welcome back bro... It's burger banjir you having... Lots of source...
I love how the akak explain the size
just show the stock!
Actually when u order this kind of street burger, u can ask for less sauce. Like myself, i always inform the seller that I want less chilli, more mayonnaise. Not that I dont eat spicy foods but the amount of is the "less" chilli is actually equivalent to the amount of "normal" chilli that we eat. Or else, the burger is full with sauce. Just my preferences.
When it comes to street burger, they will fight with sauces. Some stall use their secret sauce which they prepared themselves, and some might just use store bought sauces. But for stall burger, we can always ask for less sauce or omit other sauce and only ask for chili sauce. I would ask lesser sauce when I want to enjoy the taste or I just keep quite if I want some MSG more 🤣
Same as Maggi/Mamee Instant Noodle. Ramly Burger can be customized endlessly. Each of every cooks has their own way or brands that distinct from one shop to another.
The best is to keep looking for next stall after another, never settle for one. Because some even dipped their patties in black pepper sauce (inspired by Prosperity Burger).
Enjoy your time here!
congratulation for 300k subs 🎉🎉
Jimmy guessed right, what makes this stall unique is the potatoes. There's 2 other unique roadside burger you might also like. Man Burger Stall Sungai Dua and Burger Ayam Goreng Njoy.
Oh memang they put potatoes in those burgers?
@@hanxhaykidsdiaries8044 yes, too bad the sauce ruined the taste.
They should put all those sauces into small packets so we can adjust to our liking just like Mc Donald's.
@@monkeymonk2081 it's a good suggestion but we need to understand how they do business. They way they pile the sauce basically reflects the demand of majority of the customers and it is much cheaper to get sauce in bulky packaging.
like usual, you can customise your food and drink in Malaysia
less sauce or more sauce, less sweet, more vegetables, less spicy, everything can be customise in Malaysia
Personally I like extra onion in my burger.
Sheessh, it's somehow soothing...nice videos😂
Always make me feel hungry just watching u guys eat
Better than MCD.Delicious
Ramly is Malaysian famous burger's patty products. If they said homemade meaning, its their own patty and not from Ramly's brand, thats all. I don't really like with so much sauce too, and for someone with iChang's stomach size, burger will be enough for 1 meal like for dinner.
Somewhat surprised that this is the first time iChang trying street burger. This is quite the popular street food that most travellers and tourist will encounter early in the visit to Malaysia.
I really enjoy to see your experience to travel in Malaysia.. I wish to do in same day.. Really love experience eating at the street
I'm amaze that you haven't tried and eat these marvellous Ramly burgers yet. 😅😅😅 This is like that top list of tourist must try. And you finally complete it. Congratulations ichang & jimmy! 😄✨✨✨
Base on my observation (I might be wrong)...i Chang favorite Malaysian Food is DURIAN & ASAM LAKSA.While Jimmy is Nasi Lemak & anything with BIG/MONSTER on it.
Yup, I sometime forgot they never tried it yet too. They been like Malaysian allready.Eating, cooking & sometime ordering like Malaysian.
Malaysia is a GIGANTIC melting pot. They are always some new food to try.
In recent years, Malaysian street burgers have been fusion-ized a lot to fit the higher price they'd like to sell, especially by adding various sauces inside; chilly,BBQ, mayonese and lately, cheese sauce too. Then they reduce the quality of veges by replacing the lettuce with cabbage (which entirely annoying), and no more onion/tomato slice. The simple Ramly burger in early days just consist of the patty, chilly/tomato sauce, lettuce, onion and tomato slices. Those days have long gone and I miss them a lot. Nowadays if I were to buy Ramly burger, I will just request for less chilly and mayo only.
glad to see you try pos burger. to me is the best ramly burger in penang. i've been going there since 2006
Ramly is one of the brand of those meat patties, ayam special and daging special mostly use ramly brand patties. Homemade means they prepare the meat themself, not all stall got homemade patties. So basically all stall using the same ramly patties, just the way they cook and prepare is different.
Batang Pinang meat usually more expensive than others ❤️🇲🇾
"this a dangerous midnight food"
that why we like it more 🤤
What i learned from one of the homesteaders that i watched, she said "if you look at the ingredients list on the products, the first in the list is the most used/main products" after that, go to my pantry and what ever sauce that in my pantry (except for soy sauce), the main ingredient is sugar.. that y the chili sauce is so sweet... Especially for the maggi(e?) one..
visit Malaysia once for work and the best thing about Malaysia is its easy to communicate with the locals, I feels like everyone right there know how to speak basic English
Not everyone likes alot of sauce. Me I always ask for half sauce only.
Beginning: This is how typical Malaysians crossing road (but not all)
Btw , the burger is just like ramly burger , but more selections other than this
thanks for this video and now im craving for some street stall burger...near my home got like 5 stalls...rarely eats one...
Welcome to Malaysia 🇲🇾..anesayo very food nice and delicious perfectly located ❤️❤️
Malaysia most iconic burger reviewed by iChang = spectacular
Its okey ichang u can say if u dont like the taste.. all Malaysian is open minded people.. so no worries we wont attack u..hahaha 😅
It has been ages since I had burger. Both of you make me to have one tonight. One good thing about this stall is they wash the eggs before cooking them.
I applaud your honest review guys 👏
I ALWAYS ask to halve the chili sauce. Honestly, most Ramly burger stalls put way too much
agree… i do the same
I usually ask for separate sauce so that my burger is not soggy
Thanks for sharing this video.
Up to my college years, I always ordered 'burger daging double special cheese, sos tomato sahaja, sayur taknak'. That's double beef patty wrapped in eggs with msg sauce, with cheese, only ketchup, no vege.
This way you'd get the purest meatiest and margerine-est taste of ramly burger, without all the sauciness and mess.
Btw, you will find a burger store in front of almost every 7-eleven. Find one that has a decent queue around 7-8pm to know if it's good or not.
If you like fish fillet burger, can try “simple version” of Ramly burger. Just chili sauce + mayonnaise(this is best for me)
Usually if we order ayam / daging special, it’s just the meat with egg, if we order double ayam special, means two chicken meat + one egg
The version you ordered is heavy & too much sauce 😂

Luckily i just finished eating my burger when i saw this vid🤣the only problem i have with burger stalls is they put so little veggies. I always like a lot of veggies in a bite. So nowadays i always order from usual places i go to bc i know they wont disappoint
As a PenangLang , seriously Pos Burger is overrated (they put too much sauce, if u like sauce then it will be good for you) , Ramly burger from Farlim , Batu Lanchang and Pulau Tikus are much better....
Yeah some plp wants to taste the meat. Not the sauce
I love to see ichang cooking again. But seriously, for me street burger give me more satisfaction than mcd.
Wow looks so sedap…🤤🤤🤤
Everytime I order this street burger,I always tell them,no chili sauce . They all like weirdly look at me why I want that😂 They put simply too much, and Malaysian love the overload of sauce in their burger LOL . I don't like it that way . I want to taste my meat .
So you guys order 1 Ramly Daging Special & 1 Homemade Daging Special right? I'm also confuse lol 🤣 Next try Syukor Burger 😁😁
Overated syukor burger , lol lmoa
homemade burger usually are better than frozen commercial burger. Homemade mostly like almost 99% meat, while commercial is mostly like 50% meat, the rest is chemical and other stuff, this was in discovery channel. Although that was documentary on american country if not mistaken.
I still love Malaysian street burger. Always share with my husband
Ramly Burger basically just referring to the normal street burger, it is the brand of the patties. Just like Maggie Goreng, you can find it everywhere. One thing I dislike about street burger is because the sauce is overpowering the actual taste, but you can always ask for “sauce kurang” (means less sauce) or usually I will say No Mayo. I’m from Penang, you can discover the mainland side of Penang; Bukit Mertajam for the infamous Sentosa Yam Rice.
Street burgerrrrr!!!! All time favourite, can be eaten anytime everyday 😂😍😍😋 i love burger with lots of mayo but less chili sauce
Thanks you tasting our tasty street burger! Love from Malaysia 💖
Sirlion part of meat = batang pinang, literally means trunk of the areca nut palm/tree. Seller joked "not batang nyok (colloqial for nyior, which means coconut)", translated this means "not coconut trunk"...
Harimau menangis (tiger crying) is lightly marinated small beef pieces which are fried much like one fries a burger patty, and eaten with white rice. A special sauce dip is also provided. Seller names his version as harimau teriak which means tiger howling (loudly crying)...
yes this burger so yummy.since im from seremban i only able to get this during balik kampung every 2/3 year 😮💨.but since covid its been more than that.hope can taste it again sooon
