Thank you so much, helped me twice in the one video. I was able to replace fuel filter. I also had head gasket changed however when I received the car back it would not drive correctly hence why I changed the fuel filter but this was not the issue. the issue was the fuel feed to engine was not in correctly the mechanic had accidently switched the hose, in the video you mentioned colour coordination this is what solved the fault. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the video, so if I fill up the filter with some fuel before installing I don't need to remove the air with a vacuum pump from the diesel line?
Ideal video very clear and precise The only change I would make is to put small bit of timber between the vice and fuel filter housing incase the filter is tight and the strain on the filter strap won't damage the housing as the wood protects it. Great video and thanks
Many thanks for you comment Peter, the housing is a strong enough build and does not require timber to protect, it just needs correct placement & tension in the vice, even a really tough filter can be removed with this set up. I get what you are saying & some softer filter housings could certainly use that practice.
Hi buddy did u have as he did the obd with battery or simply just disconnected? I've done a good few filters but not on mazda about to do it did u notice a good difference? I find the schedule for these a bit high personally many chajge yearly
On the 13mod its on the other side, behind the air condition hose.. Its hell to get out. I had to put diesel into the filter again, l could not get it to start without doing that... Good video thanks
Hi great video. I have a 2014 Mazda 6 2.2 and I’m going to change the injector washers and the sump gauge. I’m unsure if I have to remove the rocker cover to gain access. Could you give me some advice on this. Thanks Graeme
I've not long bought a cx5 and I've started to get rough 8dle and acceleration it seems to be now and then I had a little last week and recently put dpf cleaner in with fuel redex would this be a further symptom if something going on with the dpf ? Or fuel filter issue ? Other than that it purrs hoping not much I can contact the warranty people tim if needed as I had 6 months with the car its just annoying me , they onky changed the oil on their service which is a bit cheap of them.
Hi, quick question: Where can I get those plastic caps that fit the fuel filter (the ones you used to plug the filter when prefilling it with diesel prior to reinstallation)
On my Mazda 6 2016 diesel, it's on a left side when you look on engine from front side.So I removed my battery for nothing, just tu see that there no filter😅
Is it absolutely necessary to remove the fuel pump fuse or relay? Didn't see anything mentioned in your video but was under the impression it needed to be done. Thanks in advance
Great video thank you for your help and advice, hoping you can help a little more but this is a very old video so may not be monitored now. I’m having multiple issues with car at the moment, is the throttle body easy to get to on these cars ? If I follow the air line it looks to be at the back of engine is that correct or have I gone wrong ? Hoping once I’ve found that I will also find the MAP and MAF sensor to give it all a clean !! Struggling to find any decent info online to help me.
Maf sensor is first sensor after airfilter if you follow pipe towards motor. Sits on top of the pipe with two small screws holding it in. Literally couple of inches from the airfilter. I think the map sensor is on the intake manifold looks very similar to the maf sensor ua-cam.com/video/mhG1ZBqMnKA/v-deo.html In this video youll see where it is
I had the fuel filter on my 2017 Mazda 6 2.2 d 175bhp changed yesterday and the fuel gauge distance to empty reading dropped by over 150kms when I collected it. It's saying 345km to empty on a nearly 3/4 full tank. I suspect it must not be the correct filter. I ordered a Mann WK 828 X fuel filter online and even called the websites "Technical Experts" to confirm it was the right one. I hope it doesn't cause other problems.
You probably already know this by now but they disconnected your battery without holding the memory with a OBD input. Your mileage estimates will readjust as you drive.
My car won't take fuel at pump station thinking it's EVAp or is it fuel filter blocked also needle stuck on quarter will go down but not up . Any ideas it's 2.2 Mazda 6 2010

How much cost a Mazda Fuel Filter ? Went I went to mazda, it charge 230 Euros just for the filter of my Cx3 ( Installation non-included ) I was like wtf !
Really good video. I discovered your channel because my 2016 diesel judders around 2000rpm when coasting or decelerating. It seemed to happen after using supermarket fuel, but that could be a pure coincidence. Can you offer any thoughts?
I had the same, turns out the supermarket stations tanks under ground had water seepage and was spoiling the fuel. Had to get my engine sorted which wasn't cheap. I only use the shell now.
I am confused as to what your question is Nikola? If you are talking about a petrol vehicle this video is of no use to you. This is a step by step process on this model only.
@@GerardBurkeBurkesGarage i have Mazda 6 2009 and it is 2.5 gas engine. So if i change the fuel filter i can use diesel? Or i need to change the fuel tank to?

Radek Woj I just asked about this at my mechanic yesterday. Fuel filter for gasoline/petrol is in the tank as part of the pump assembly according to them. I’m still going looking under my hood later on just to see what’s in the spot behind the battery but I doubt it’s a fuel filter on my 2016 gasoline CX5
Fuel filter is behind battery (same as this video) on late 2017 (KF) CX-5 2.2 diesel. Replaced it today with help from this video. May be different on earlier models.
Good video. How often should this filter be changed.

Good on Mazda for not putting it in the gas tank.
Ger, I followed this video to the letter this afternoon on my 2017 Diesel Mazda 6 and it made the job so handy.. thanks a million for the video pal 👍
Excellent video, nice and easy to follow, thanks for taking the time to make it.

Need to show how to fill up the fuel filter and how to remove the electrical bottom part.
Watch the video. He tells/shows you how and what to do to fill it. The white electrical part on the bottom is threaded so just screws in and out.
I have a Mazda 3 2014 petrol , could anyone advise on the fuel filter location?
Thanks !
I was waiting for Mazda to release their diesel model here in the US but they won't release it here 😡 instead I got the gas version 😤
Is it the same for petrol? Do you fill the filter with petrol/
Petrol filters are not even located outside the fuel tank...its part of the fuel pump Inside your fuel tank
really nice explanation
Thanks Domagoj
What that device for the battery please?
