- This was by far the hardest world championships I've experienced. So much happened and it ended up being the first time I have never made a podium at a major championships. So thankful for all the love and support throughout and having Tara there to support me. As much as it hurt i'm thankful to be able to share it and inspire others to keep fighting through adversity.

Cant express how grateful I am for all the support. This was the hardest meet I’ve ever went through and couldn’t have done it without Tara there with me. Thank you to everyone who’s reached out to me through this. I will be back better, faster, and stronger.
I may have cried a little bit. I am so proud for you and the person you are. You're so blessed to have Tara and your friends and family to help you thought this. God sends the people to you to help you get through these hard times. On another note: who do we have to email about the coaches and officials who f'ed up so badly on not knowing that rule?

There’s no reason at all for you to feel embarrassed for crying, it shows how much you care 🤎, you both work so hard and sacrifice so much to be the athletes that you are. So when setbacks that you have no control over happen I can only imagine how hard, heartbreaking and frustrating that would be, sending love to y’all proud of you both 🤎
Everyone can understand disappointment and see the heartbreak on Hunter’s face, but I don’t know if an able-bodied person could ever truly relate to this pain. Those moments in disabled life when, despite how well and how nonchalantly you consistently manage, and how much you’ve overcome in your personal and/or professional life, disability just smacks you in the face and takes something from you yet again.
You’re not alone Hunter. You’ll be back better.
This! In these moments it's so hard to not just feel like the world is against you. Because barely anyone else has to ever worry about a screw coming loose on their legs, and their legs spontaneously breaking before a huge moment. And you can't get it fixed without travelling to a new country and forking out thousands of pounds. You feel sooo powerless. But you have to just keep moving forward, it's the only way

I was speechless watching Tara hug Hunter while he was in tears he did ABSOLUTELY amazing and I really thought they could have fixed his legs sending love and Gods grace blessings you'll get it next time

I saw your wife being there for you emotionally, I saw a man not afraid to cry when he's upset, I saw you congratulate you teammate even while you were still grieving missing that race, and I saw your competitor trying to help you with your prosthetic 💜
Hunter, you are so special. No matter how this ended you really have to know how important you are to the Paralympic experience. You never allow anything to get you down. This will become a memory in your vast, awesome life! You had such love around you,and that’s more important than any award. You will show the world,your greatness. Something I ask my children ( now all grown ups) “where do you come from?” Their response since they could speak…GREATNESS! That’s where you come from as well!!!! That would be an excellent idea. I don't know why we don't have and information person at World's and Olympic Games. Someone that knows the rules. Someone who knows All of the rules and regulations that can help our participants and coaches, so we don't make mistakes.🤷🏾♀️

Oh hunter😢 you are such an inspiration to everyone. I can’t imagine how awful this felt, you WILL go back & you will conquer every dream you have. I’m so sorry this happened to you but I feel like it kept you from serious injury had this happened WHILE racing instead of during the practice & right at the start. 💔 you have the will and determination, you both do, to achieve every goal you want & you will. It isn’t fair, not one bit & I know it isn’t but you’ve got this - you & Tara are incredible I know this wasn’t easy to share but I hope it helped more doing so.❤

That absolute gut wrenching feeling when something goes wrong is awful. But, knowing how amazing of an athlete you are, and see how you handled the situation gives everyone faith. Things will get better. ❤️

That's a tough one, Hunter. You have nothing to be ashamed about in this situation. And it's possible, you may have been protected through this. Both of you two, being top athletes in your sports, to not even be allowed to compete from your leg complications is difficult and heartbreaking. The extra tape (which is usually normal here) the day before may have been a protection for you as well, though heartbreaking for the team. It appeared Tara was giving you room to vent, while supporting you along the way. Trent seemed to be a very good support for you as well. Very proud of you two and those who train with you.
Hunter you are NOT responsible for the RULES - ITS THE COACHES FRICKEN JOB to read the rules and or have interpreters. GD IT!

My whole heart for you Hunter. This was so tough to watch. Im so glad that Tara was there. I used to be an athlete. Definitely not at yalls caliber. But i couldnt imagine the heart break when that happened for Hunter. Gods got you always. I cannot wait to see how you continue to develop and keep going. Your gut the day before was hinting at what God was trying to tell you. You are so blessed to have Tara and Trent (I hope I got that right!) as your support system. I am grateful that the bolt malfunctioned at the start rather than in the leaning and grueling turn at top speed in the 400. You were able to save yourself. There will be more races. There's only one you.

I love how Hunter allowed Tara to comfort him without pushing her away. I've witnessed male athletes become so upset in situations like that to the point of being abusive to those closest to them. I'm happy to see even at his worst, Hunter knows how to be vulnerable with Tara. They are without a doubt the most adorable couple I've come across in a very long time. Their love and joy is infectious and always makes me laugh and smile.

You and Tara are both winners whether you win a medal or not. This episode does not define you because you are Hunter the Great. You are great at overcoming and facing adversity head on. You got this. I know we all know you are going to come back even greater. You are a hero to many and this moment does not take it away from you. Coaches and the officials during the practices. If they saw the team putting 2 pieces of tape, someone could’ve given a nudge or something.
I feel your pain Hunter. I was at D1 NCAA regionals when I got a call that my mom was going into surgery and I needed to go home. They weren’t sure she was going to make it through. Our team was looking to win Nationals that year and I was taking off before the finals. Last race I ran for them as my coach was heart broken. I know it hurts now, but you have a bright future ahead outside of Track, keep your head up, everything happens for a reason! 🙏🏾

This was a great lesson to all. The wonderful love displayed in your family, all in, in support of your challenges. This was not defined by a medal for individual achievement, which obviously would have garnered a different result in the race, it highlighted a wonderful love in the absence of support from your coaches and focused our priorities where they should be. You have talent, we witness it in segments, you have passion and display it honestly, we support you, You have earned our respect and respect for your wonderful family. Hunter, you have absolutely NOTHING to be embarrassed about at all. You are literally a world class athlete and you and your beautiful wifey are so blessed to have each other. You two are definitely soul mates. The love y’all have for one another is absolutely beautiful, and the love and passion you guys share is not explainable. Like you said Hunter, maybe this was a sign from God that this year just wasn’t it, and as we all cried with you and as heartbroken you felt at the moment, I was so happy to hear you laughing by the end of the night. I feel like you have an amazing group of people/friends/teammates and most importantly your beautiful wife, who lifted you up when you felt defeated. It is so relatable in so many ways, but I also think it’s going to be the driving force for a major comeback. TBH, I feel sorry for anyone who will be competing with you next year, that fire 🔥 was lit, watch out y’all, Hunter Woodhall will come back better, stronger, and nothing will get in your way. Keep your head up, and I know that’s so annoying to hear someone say, especially because we aren’t Olympic athletes like y’all, but truly, you literally made it. And there ain’t nothing better than a kick ass comeback, and I have complete faith that will be YOU!
Side note, I would DEF be going after the line judges, the coaches, and even the highest level of persons whose SOLE JOB IT IS TO MAKE SURE YALL KNOW THE RULES! That literally makes me so angry, so so soooooo angry. And even though it won’t change the race from the past, but I’ll be damned if this shit happens again and I’m sure y’all will be on top of it. That part made me literally sick to my stomach. It truly makes me feel like someone didn’t want you to run, and I know I shouldn’t think like that, but what kind of a “coach” isn’t there for their own competition? Thank you, NEXT.

God has a call on your and Tara’s life. His favor surrounds you both like a shield. It’s so apparent! Grateful you were able to overcome what you couldn’t control and still be grateful in the present moment and take everything in! It was also humbling to see a man crying, since it’s a human emotion I don’t think men feel ok to do that and I hope this lets them know it’s ok! Don’t ever be embarrassed to cry.

There’s a reason for it Hunter. God is always working and he’s moving us into positions and places where we need to be. I was told during my hardest time where I was begging for prayers and sympathy, instead I was told boldly to just worship. Worship God through it.
