This is the amazing 12 inch extended version of Steve Miller Band's "I Want To Make The World Turn Around" from 1987! Listen to this version which is way better than the original LP version in my opinion and you will be online trying to find a copy for yourself! ENJOY!!!
I’m 62 years old still in 2024 song still gives me the chills🙏🏽
Classic tune. They don't write songs like this anymore. Just awesome to my ears!
Switek and Zito: one of the most beautiful episodes of Miami Vice i've never seen.
I love you all for loving this. We're on the same page. God, what a great song, It travels me back.
Tom Malcolm one of my favorite
Check out Blue Oyster Cult I love the night
Like fine wine, omly a VERY few songs seem better now than when they were beibg, basically, denied radio play BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO LONG
Now where does common cause of shorty, edited songs belong?
THE TRASH!!!
THAT'S WHERE THIS ARTIST RIGHTLY put out this gem of a masterpiece.
BRIAN
You Money
God help us all these days we are stuck in. Peace doesn’t seem to come around much these days.
STEVE (THE SPACE COWBOY ) MILLER,
TODAY, TOMORROW, AND FOREVER!!!!!!!!
Takes me right back to my teens in the 80's ... hot summer nights ... say no more!
What can i say, it was a great track then, over 30 years later, its still great .
Incredible!! Stevie Guitar Miller with premier saxophone player. Wow!
Message is more prevalent today.
100% agree - best song of Steve Miller (in my opinion) :-)
The sax in this song gives me chills in the beginning and middle part. My absolute favorite by SMB.
Kenny G :)
I love that part as well… I was surprised to see that Kenny G played the sax on this song.
I remember listening to this song on the radio (and on my parent's record player) during the late 1980s! This song (and its message) still moves me to this day!
Not the early 80's,the late 80's. This song came out in 1987.
I couldn't have said it better homie. I love you. ❤️❤️❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@williegordon7899 Sorry, my mistake. I re-edited my original comment in order to reflect this fact (and to not mislead others).
One of Steve's best songs and lyrics; still cries out today!
The only time I heard this song on the radio was in Logansport,In. It only played once on the radio for the classic rock station always played the same songs over and over again. I was in the bathtub and googled some of the lyrics to find out that it was probably one on the best songs ever created by Mr. Miller. I wished our National Anthem was this song.
Amazing jam! Send a message...❤️💛💚✊🏿✊✊🏾✊🏻✊🏽✊🏼✌️✌🏿✌🏻✌🏾✌🏼✌🏽
The sax kicks ass in this song :}>
Yes it does!!!
Sax is Kenny G.
Arrasa é pouco. Comove e ficciona. Saxofonista de 1°categoria sem dúvida!
in my view, this is perhaps steve miller's best song. The sax is awesome!!
I love the entire album this is from. Living in the 20th Century. A great mix of classic blues and some more modern SMB stylizations.
Amazing song! Loved this song when it came out and it is still timeless!
I love the ambient feel this song has!!!
This takes me back to a place and time where I've never been.
Keep staying positive, keep love, forgiveness, and service to others in your heart. That is all I know how to do.
Great song! Love it! Been sitting here for about 40 minutes now and I just keep on hitting the "Replay" button.
Never did care much for sax, but in this song it is absolutely stunnig!
now i love that instrument
@@luluwinke6581
Yes, especially that it is Kenny G. playing it!
Miller's early arrangements, songs, such hallmark integrity!!!!! Can't get enuf.
No 80s classic is ever quite complete without lots of 80s SAX. Oooh yeah!
Amazing...Never knew that this version existed! Peace & Love & Light always...
Steve at his best. Innocent lyrics, Hopeful message, and some VERY sweet guitar. The radio all but neglected this catchy tune. It put Steve out there again where he belonged, But it all but disappeared, in a matter of weeks. Great audio on this post.
But radio played "Abracadabra " and "The Joker" ad nauseum.
Bought the record for this song!
I've dug this tune since it first came out, and yes, it's tragic that so many great songs, like this, never got the exposure it so deserves.....but that's show biz in America.
Ela teve sim, e muito!! Na época do seu lançamento, aqui no Brasil foi, continua e permanecerá sendo uma obra-prima muito cultivada e amada. ❤ Hoje, 29-02-2024 e enquanto houver oxigênio no planeta.
This was a stand a lone tune long before Miami Vice. It's too bad pop radio never got it. On of the best SM tunes ever.
ALWAYS loved this one. Haven't heard the long version in ages---thank you!!!
the best of Steve Miller Band, love this...
Great AOR, Great American Songwriting.
I don't get it, How is it that his less accomplished songs are so known and this diamond is not??
Heard this unbelievable version on an episode of Miami Vice, and couldn't understand why it's not included with the boxed set? This is SMB at its best, and Yes, why isn't Miller recognized for his innovative guitar work? Thanks Steeler1979!
Great song, have not heard it ages. Had the album too.
Timeless piece to continue evolve and Reach always for Peace , Light , Love, a brotherhood of man
Steve Miller's best song in my opinion
Steve Miller is still on his game.Great live.
this is superb on headphones really loud lol whats that i cant here you !!!!!
It's weird that this song has been haunting me for the past couple of nights......
This is by far my favorite version of this beautiful song. Thank you for this version
Miami Vice was storming in to avenge Zito's death.
That's where I first heard the song. It's one of the best from the series and that's really saying something because there were so many on Miami Vice.
stand-in TUBBS
WHAT A WORLD WE HAVE...GOD WANTS TO MAKE THE WORLD TURN AROUND FOREVER....MANKIND EVOLVES WHILE THE WORLD REVOLVES
THANKS BE TO GOD FOR EVERYTHING IE THE GOOD AND THE BAD
GOD TURNS ALL THE BAD INTO THE GOOD
I wouldn't want it any other way....Wouldn't it be boring to live without the proper appreciation 4 the good cause it's all u no?
Kickass version of the song !!!!
This is above amazing!! Well written. Bass, guitar, and of course the SAX!! Fantastic lyrics!! Love this extended version. Gonna confess, made love to a nice lady more than once. It's the best Steve Miller I've ever heard, and I've heard em all.
If I had noticed that Big John's comments were six years old, I would not have gone Brockmire. Thank you, I.A.D.R. for clueing me in about Steve's 2015 induction. As Gilda Radner used to say, "Oh! Well,... Never Mind."
Regarding Steve's 1969 'Got Love Cause You Need It", I stand my ground. Unless someone can show me an earlier example of rap, then I call this the first! A scan of the lyrics will show it contains most of the features of rap.It is spoken, not sung. It has violent themes regarding then current sociopolitical issues, and it is un-apologetic about them. It is both abrasively raw and tightly put together with no slack. BTW, if you think I'm wrong, check out the band's lead singer at the time.
Compare that song to 'Baby's House', 'Steve Miller's Midnight Tango' or 'Motherless children', and you'll begin to grasp Steve's immense creative range.
I don't want to live in a world of darkness
I want to live in a world of light
I don't want to live in a world that's heartless
I want to live in a world of sight
Well you know, I want to make the world turn around
Living in a world of justice
Living in a world of shame
Living in a world of freedom
Living in a world of pain
Well you know, I want to make the world turn around
Turn the darkness into light
Turn the hunger into life
Turn the wrong into right
Put an end to the strife
Turn the blindness into sight
Save a human life
Make the world turn around
I want to live in a world of gladness
I want to know what your heart is made of
Don't want to live in a world of sadness
I want to live in a world of love
Well you know, I want to…
Fantástico

Seems so current. This world--I just don't know.

One of the Most beautiful song of the 80's... Steve Miller You'll never Betroy with your Music
This song is a legend, well, it should be anyway. Just love it!!!
wonder how a song is in your head when you wake up after a dream
The first time I heard this song was in '87 on KFMZ in Columbia, Missouri. It was the only place I ever heard this version. When I found this on UA-cam, it was filling a void that was needed to be filled. Such an underrated song. Maybe his best.
It is his best! What tops it?

Before I go to your page:
I am a DIE"NEVER" STEELER FAN-the only thing im a fan of.
I grew up in NYC and MIAMI.
I had this record. It is one of the best songs ever made. I tell people under, say, about 29 years old these days, "There was a song I used to play before I went to the Army, before I went to the Academy, Before 'she' died.......I got that song in my head brother.
steeler1979....youre the best..thanks.
I am SLOAN
I don't know for some reason the word incredible comes to mind.
2021, now more than ever ❤️😇🙏
You are so right! I have always loved this song!
This is my favorite from SMB...He has put out some great tunes over the years but this is his best right here...I love this extended version. . The lyrics are deep and are more relevant today than ever!
How does it sound now? More relevant everyday.
Song from the soul. All Brazil enjoy.
When I was a younger man I was crazy about MIAMI VICE. Especially the soundtrack. This was featured on one episod.
Heard This For The 1st Time On WLUP 97.9 Chicago, Blew Me Away!!
We need this sentiment more than ever before now
SMB is my favorite band. Cool to hear a extended version of this awsome song:)

as a record dealer for 25+ years ,gotta say I havent seen this record in maybe 10 years, but used it to see it a fair bit long ago, back when records were easier to find in general
BEEN A HUGE FAN OF HIS SINCE THE EARLY 70'S. HIS BEST MUSIC NEVER MADE IT TO THE RADIO. 69 YEARS AND STILL LISTENING. ANTHOLOGY IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES.
One of my favorite all time greats band rocks
What a song....! Song itself is brilliant, but when used for Miami Vice, it became even cooler! Best Series ever, with best Music ever! :-)
Linda música.....
I think he had a great great voice....
his guitar is sooo cool , but his voice - perfect!!!!!!
Thanks for translating! This, Jet Airliner, and The Joker are his best, but this one is the #1 best. My favorite band!! And im only 14! xD
Bossnine I'm glad you're only 14 and listening to him but please listen to his first three albums from the 60s. The joker and jet airliner are very commercial songs used to sell out
I love this version of this song for the long one's segament !
Your right ! I love this cut much more thank you !!!
This brings back to the days of 93.3 KDKB Mesa/Phoenix,Az on a Saturday night cruising up and down South Mountain Park!!!!!
I'll never listen to the original version again after listening to this version, Thanks steeler1979 for posting !
MIAMI VICE drove me here. R.I.P. ZITO
1986-1988 12" singles were the thing...I have my original from 1988....
@rushv33 oh yeah, my kind of music, I just can't stop

Amazing I played this record so often on Radio Dixicana 104 FM The Netherlands , what a time , the 80' - Miami Vice ...SMB get kick it out
Isso é música boa 👍👍👍👍
Yes it is !! 😎👍
Check on that Dude. You had to buy the album. Radio only plays what it want's to. The best stuff lies under the surface
What a great song.
Wao!
Beautiful Galactic Sound Song made me tearsdroop in the sky. Make the world turn around for good. 💕❤⚘
When I worked at WMAD in Madison, WI in the late 80's I loved playing this song when I worked overnights. Thought extended version was so much better than the original.
this is very good steeler1979
Thanks for the post been looking for this for ages ,,,what happened to the music industry ,,and etc ,,,even the cool white chicks we had ,,even the cool cops ,,
Thanks Miami Vice!
WOW...if ever there was a time; it is NOW.
It's now or never, my friend!!! IMO.
Great song, great lyrics.
thank you
January 2021! 🙋🔥👊
Anos 80. Melhor época!
Steve Miller is so underated. I'ts no wonder, if I had to listen to "big old jet airliner" one more time, I'd be sick. But the best stuff is in the albums that never got any airplay. What a shame. Music comes and goes so fast, but much of the best lies under the surface.
Heard this at an outdoor concert soon after it came out and he was experimenting how to improve it with the band. My memory fades but I remember it was a lot like this version. Guitar and sax solos would just soar into the night sky.
Still listening in 2021 - Formations Classic !
I forgot about this one. Great track. I liked his more obscure album cuts. I had his Anthology album. Thanks for the memory.
You're so right dude, one of so many cool tunes that never got any airplay. Damn that pop radio.
Great tune-age. So why isn't Stevie "Guitar" Miller in the Rock & Roll
Hall Of Fame yet? Christsakes they let groups like Abba in, Madonna... Sheesh !!!
The infamous "they," who decide such things, are unaware of what REAL music is...
TheBigjohn527 Makes the Rock and Roll Hall of fame Look like a joke.
@@robshell5367 Because it is!!!
