Curious about the bowls you use! The bowls typically marketed for reptiles have the natural look to them, but the little crevices make them hard to clean. I am using just Pyrex bowls right now because the reptiles bowls kept getting slimy and green, regardless of how often they were cleaned. (I used to use the bowl like Casper has).
hi I am an animal collector and I have been for 40 years, quick tip the log in the middle in the second tank some of the branch is sticking out I would probably snap the little bit of or file it down .
How do you keep the heat in? I always have trouble keeping the heat at the right temperature and mine is glass too Do you having the heating pad on the outside?
I don’t know much about the skinks but I know a little bit about mourning geckos! Although I’ve never kept them so I don’t have any personal experience with them
I know it controversial, but with my male ball python I still have him in a 10 gallon enclosure but he is only 400 grams. Once he 500 grams then I have a 20 gallon i plan on putting him in temporarily. I could not afford a 4 by 2 by 2 pvc enclosure but did order a 4 by 2 by 1 enclosure since where I bought it was having a good goal two enclosure of the 4 by 2 by 1 size for $350. Plus I figured it would be easier to keep a hot spot and enclosure the correct temperature with a radiant heat panel at 12 inchs instead of 24 inchs.
Love the video! I was wondering what pressure sprayer you were using in this video to mist down the cages. I'm looking to get myself one as well for my BP to keep up the humidity.
Exo Terra sells a good one. Keep in mind that spraying alone isn’t very effective, and can potentially make the surface of the substrate too wet, risking scale rot. Pouring water into a deep layer of a humidity retaining substrate and mixing it in is much more effective (just make sure the surface isn’t too wet).
I really love ur vids i bought a zoo med reptihabitat 40 gal for my ball python and instead of having rotating locks on the screen tops they kinda just snap into place im scared he might escape
What kind of over head heating/ lighting do you use I’m setting up an 40 gallon exo terra for our new BP n unsure of proper wattage ?? Trouble maintaining cooler side only at 65
A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer or dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option for the primary heat source during the day. A ceramic heat emitter can be used as a secondary heat source. Keep in mind that 40 gallons isn’t big enough for an adult, they need 4x2x2’ or bigger.
The enclosure should be at least as long as the snake, with a good amount of depth and climbing height. He could go in his adult enclosure (4x2x2’ or bigger) as long as there’s enough clutter and plant coverage.
When you upgrade are you still going to be using the exo tera enclosures just bigger ones or a different brand? I am not sure which brand or type is best/easiest to clean/durable.
Exo terra unfortunately doesn’t make anything larger than 3 feet wide, so I won’t be using exo terras. I’m going to be building my own or using PVC enclosures!
Unfortunately vision cages aren’t super easy to get in Canada so I’ve never really looked into them! I know that other people have used them successfully though :)
Hey Emma, love your vids! These setups look awesome, have you ever had any trouble with holding in humidity? I currently have both my bps in large tubs but I like the look of the exo terras and want to switch over, I'm just worried about humidity being in Ontario :/
Not really honestly! I always loved snakes, and knew they needed to eat mice/rats so it wasn’t too difficult for me. To me it’s no different than the meat humans eat, of the meat I feed to my dogs/cats!
I’m a simple woman..

What size tank would you recommend for a 6 month old ball python? He’s about a foot and a half long
The enclosure should be at least as long as the snake, with a good amount of depth and climbing height. He could go in his adult enclosure (4x2x2’ or bigger) as long as there’s enough clutter and plant coverage.
Hi Emma, i was wondering, were did you get the hides for your ball pythons? The flat grey ones? Thank you :)
Petsmart!

Exo terra enclosures are great, I really love them! But unfortunately none are very large. I wish they carried larger ones!
@@EmmaLynneSampson thanks for responding!! I was thinking about vision enclosures. Have you ever thought about those for ball pythons?
Unfortunately vision cages aren’t super easy to get in Canada so I’ve never really looked into them! I know that other people have used them successfully though :)
how does your chork bark not mold??
Hey Emma, love your vids! These setups look awesome, have you ever had any trouble with holding in humidity? I currently have both my bps in large tubs but I like the look of the exo terras and want to switch over, I'm just worried about humidity being in Ontario :/
I do have to mist them quite frequently! Covering them with plastic wrap also works though!
@@EmmaLynneSampson thank you!!
Just a random question, did you feel bad the first few times you fed your snakes mice or rats? because I don't think I would be able to.
Not really honestly! I always loved snakes, and knew they needed to eat mice/rats so it wasn’t too difficult for me. To me it’s no different than the meat humans eat, of the meat I feed to my dogs/cats!
Where did u get the cork wood from ?
Your set ups are so beautiful.. also where did you get your spray bottle from?
Thank you very much!! I got it from Lowe’s, in their garden centre :)
Where do you get your cork bark from? I think my snake would love big pieces like that! 🐍🖤
I get most of my cork from a local pet store called critter jungle, but many online stores sell it!
Good morning guys
Good evening from the UK

Where did you get those grey rock hides?
