Idk, I watched around 2 minutes and already am convinced this isn’t the right way. Fake plants, he has (a) rack system(s). Not convinced. I guess if you’re some kind of collector or something, but I don’t understand the appeal or the need to keep snakes in bins to begin with. I only have one snake, I got it about a year ago, and I couldn’t imagine it being in a damn bin. She’s had potato bugs/isopods in her tank from near the start. I had millipedes but they died out.. I’m not sure why people use fake stuff The animals are already as low maintenance as they are. Try a fish tank or a parrot, much more maintenance goes on there than for a reptile such as a snake that eats once every week or every other week. Laziness.
@@jvii9761 he is a collector, he’s also reasonable and has a different taste then you. I agree with live plants I appreciate the appeal, but some don’t like them, it’s easier to clean all the fake plants at once and he does things to make his life easier and have his animals thrive. Hello, I’m watching a few videos because I’ve been thinking about adopting a blue tongue skink from a pet store ( employees who work there say he’s been living with them for over a year) and I don’t have a PVC tank for the money for one, but I’ve been trying to get a glass lid for my current 3 1/2’ by 1 1/2’ x 2’ tank which was originally used for RES turtle the turtle is now been transferred to a bigger tank and now I am hoping to use it to adopt the skink but after watching your videos, I realize getting a PVC is vital (I’m droning) point is where do you get a PVC used and what would be a good way to keep humidity in a glass tank with a mesh top?
So I am planning on getting a baby Boa Constrictor again. I’ve owned one in the past but I can’t decide what would be the best budget friendly enclosure to buy and how to avoid having to purchase bigger and bigger encloses as he or she grows. The last time I did it I started off with a 20g aquarium and then moved up to a 55 but it was far from ideal and I don’t plan on owning more then one or 2 snakes in the near future. What would you recommend as a good starter enclose that I can use semi long term? I was thinking of picking up another large aquarium and just sectioning it off for now although I know aquariums are not ideal, I always kept a repti carpet on top and misted daily but still not ideal.
You can get their adult enclosure right away and just fill it with plenty of clutter and plant coverage. Keep in mind that the enclosure must be at least as long as the snake, with a good amount of depth and climbing height. Look into grow tents or building your own enclosure.

My goal for this year was to get a banana combo morph but on New Years I changed my mind, I’m going bioactive with my current snakes first. We are not increasing our numbers until we have improved the enclosures of what we have. We do have 3 ft wooden vivariums, set up naturalistically currently but I think we can do better! It’s exciting to think of how it could look when it’s set up and then changes over time! Great video, this is something we need to start looking into for the hobby more.
So I've been doing a lot of research for my first snake... But I have a question. For the day and night cycle do you need the heat to drop a few degrees at night with the lights or just the lights at night? I have a thermostat but it doesn't have a night cycle.
For what species? Use a deep layer of a humidity retaining substrate. Pour water into the substrate and mix it in, just make sure the surface isn’t too wet. If you have a mesh lid cover most of it with foil tape. Make sure the hygrometer is digital, not analog.
