Oh what! I followed your instructions and now I've lost ALL my whatsapp videos and pictures!!! Before I had only lost some, but now I've lost all. Pictures and videos of loved ones who are no longer with us. 🥺
Have you tried deleting the .nomedia file? It's in a folder called private within your WhatsApp and media folder. It seems they changed the root folder and that's what's causing these issues 🤦🏻♂️
I have the opposite problem. WhatsApp and FB both show a tonne (I mean hundreds) of screenshots that I never took. Everything from games (that I do play but shots I've never seen even in game) to random posts by people I've never seen. However my gallery doesn't show them so I can't delete them. It's so bad I can't find any pictures I want to send people now

You can recover them if you go back to ur latest backup

Both whatsapp and iphone settings are set as required. Yet photos sent to me do not always end up in camera roll 😡
My WhatsApp chats are not showing media after a restore but the media is already in the phone. Seems like they don't know it's in my phone
