The content I create is intended for those who already have an understanding of cold process soap making. Cold process soapmaking involves working with sodium hydroxide (NaOH, also referred to as lye). Lye and raw soap can permanently damage your eyes and burn your skin. When making soap, you should already know and practice lye safe handling procedures and always wear safety gear during the entire soapmaking process, even while cleaning up. I hope you find watching my videos helpful or entertaining. Hi! I hope you're all doing well! 💕
    I know I’ve made quite a few feather swirl videos over the years 😬, but I recently watched another soapmaker on UA-cam make a really beautiful feather swirl soap (Shonna of Nezumi Soaps - ua-cam.com/video/WB34VWuuUvo/v-deo.html), and she inspired me to make another one. I think the feather swirl is definitely my favorite soap swirl technique. 😊
    If you have any other swirls, techniques, or ingredients you’d like me to try, be sure and let me know! I can use all the soapmaking ideas I can get. 😁
    Thanks so much for watching! -Holly :)

    Hi Holly, I made an Indigo and olive oil infusion and it turned out nice, I can see the pink Hugh 💗, now, my question is, when I use what I need, do I strain the powder that's left at the bottom or can I use it in my soap? Thank you 😊 💓.

    • @hollysoapmaking
      @hollysoapmaking  2 роки тому +1

      Wonderful! I’m so happy to hear that! I usually get all of the oil out and then toss the powder. I’m actually about to try infusing the same powder twice. Since it’s such a weak infusion, another soapmaker suggested trying that. So you could add some more oil and see if you could get more blue or pink oil. Thanks for letting me know it worked for you! 💕😊

    Hi Holly!
    I love this soap & tried to duplicate it myself. The oils were such a beautiful almost ruby color- until I added my lye.
    The batter turned a light to medium grey color. So disappointing! Well I added a tiny bit of pink mica & corrected the color.
    Not sure where I went wrong.
    Too much indigo - or not enough?
    Your feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks Holly!!

    How lovely!! Holly, I have only used indigo tinctoria and it didn't have any pink tones to it. Is your indigo from Nurture Soap Baphicacanthus Cusia (Nees) Bremek Powder? Oh yes you showed us that the jar is from Nurture ,but is the Baphicacanthus Cusia (Nees) Bremek variety that Nurture sells now? I'm a bit confused because none of their descriptions or reviews mention a pink shade, only gray blue. Right now I have indigo tinctoria and it doesn't turn pink. I am so excited to try to make a pink like you have and I would prefer not to have more indigo that won't give me a pink shade. You have really inspired me, Holly. Thank you again! :)
