I love the fact that your videos are so interesting, relaxing and you don't talk!! I enjoy your videos and hope you're around with us all for a long time. Thank you ❤️
Just bought Himalayan Rhubarb root powder and some indigo powder so make pretty soap. Can't tell you how much I appreciate you're in depth research you've done to help explain things for us! I've watched so many videos and I haven't had anyone explain WHY some put the indigo in with the lye vs making an oil infusion! YOURE A GOD SEND 🤣💗💖
I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I love your soap making techniques. Adding the indigo to the lye water is interesting and I will try it. Thank you for sharing…
Je vous remercie pour ce très beau savon, jai juste une question pourquoi quand on mélange l'indigo et la soude sa nous donne la couleur marron pas cette belle couleur ? J'espère une réponse de votre part ☺
Thanks for the video, I learn something new everyday, and decided I want to stop using mica in my soaps and rather use botanicals but I'm not sure if indigo can be used in hot processed soap
Amazing! I've used indigo a at trace or in the lye, and I only got a brownish colour... I fui l have up with it... Didn't use ice cubes to make the lye, maybe that made or burn the plant? Really enjoyed the video and the result colour 😍 Thank you
I love your videos! I love watching even though the whole process seems intimidating. I have a question I hope someone can answer. What if you want to make just one bar to test a recipe, how would one do THAT manth???? Is that even possible??? Something I've always wondered. Thank you in advance!
How to get natural dyes? Can I add both stearic acid and sodium lactate to my soaps and how? Does hot process soap give us a harder soap? What about table salt
Well, I didn't use your recipe, but I kept light oils and added silk. My soap turned green when poured into the mold and after 24 hrs ended up grayish- purple with pink spots. Not exactly what I expected. Oh well, I will give it another go.
Hello.. I am trying to make blue melt & pour with indigo but the color is turning out deep green or brown. Could you please advise on how to get that beautiful blue? TIA!
Love your video's. Can I ask on what temperature your oven was? Mine is a combi one (traditional oven and microwave in one) and the minimum temperature isn't that low so I'm not sure if I can do of this way
Thank you so much😊 I always put it on 50° celsius. Maybe it could work if you preheated your oven and turned it off right away after you put the soap in? I know some soap makers use heating pads also, maybe that could be an option for you.
Love watching your videos.Watched a lot of your videos in the last few days. Loved the fact that you answered every question. I have a question what is 4% super fat? Is there any ingredient or grade of soap?
Bonjour. Vos videos sont toujours tres bien expliquées. Merci. Pouvez vous me dire de quelle couleur est votre poudre indigo et quel est son nom exact svp?La mienne est verte et ne donne pas de savon bleu
Thank you so much! The indigo powder I use is dark blue, it's fermented indigo that's used for dyeing, it's just called 'blue indigo'. The green indigo is unfermented and as you said it won't give a blue color
Hi, I just made some lye water and added some Indigo powder to it and it turned brown instead of blue! I added citric acid to the water though and I noticed you didn't, is that why it turned brown lol? I guess I messed up the color 😔!?
Hi, would it make a difference if I infused the Indigo powder in extra light olive oil? I gotten some Indigo from the Yarn Tree and used a 1/4 teaspoon in my lye water, but it didn't turn out as blue as yours, this Indigo cam from a fabric dye place too.
Hello, the video is very nice, thank you for sharing it. I only have one question. Use the calculator for soaps and make a comparison with the measurements of the ingredients, the only thing that comes out differently is the amount of water: in one it comes out 169G and in another 190. But here you tell us 120. What is the difference? ?? I await your valuable response, thank you very much.
Thank you☺ There is no set amount of water so you can use any of them, but there are lots of benefits to using less water, like being able to unmold the soap faster and overall I think it produces a nicer bar of soap. The numbers you have there are very high, if you want to use more water I would suggest a 33% lye concentration which is about 140 g water for this recipe. If you want to use 120 g of water, plug in ‘37% lye concentration’ in a lye calculator.
The ingredient being indigo was unexpected! And yet, I came across it during my soap ingredients shopping session but missed it. I'm curious, doesn't it bleed onto skin over time? I'm asking because this indigo powder is sold by my regular merchant as a complement to henna for hair coloration.
No it doesn't bleed at all - as long as you don't use too much. There are two kinds of indigo powders. As far as I know, the blue one can be used to color soap, and the green one is used for hair coloration among other things
You got a really nice blue out of your indigo! The only time I tried adding it to the lye solution I got a big, clumpy mess which hid some lye crystals. Maybe your idea with the distilled water cubes would keep that from happening - will try! Thanks!
The soap formulator’s workbook is now available → www.tellervo.fi/shop/p/the-soap-formulators-workbook
Hi I love love your vids.. can u tell how to add sodium lactate to your soap? When should I add after combining the lye solution or before
@@she_designs9041 You can add it to the cooled lye solution or to the oils🙂

Love your videos!! Wondering if you can add all colors directly to the ice cube/lye mixture?

Thank you.
Greetings from Chile.
The indigo color is stunning.

I purchased indigo powder on Amazon and its soooo greeeen how do i make it blue?? Your soap is gorgeous, btw
would you recommend making this soap with citric acid?
Can we use these soaps for face washing dear ??
Wow, loved the colour so much. Nice recipe and well made video as usual.
Thank you so much🥰
Hey, do i have to put the soap in the oven? I really don't like the idea of using the oven for food and soap
Can we add the indigo and infuse directly to oils? Or at trace? Does it melt in a little bit of oil
can i use unrefined shea butter instead of refined shea butter?
Thanks Sara for this new video 👏
After the oil cools down, add indigo lye to the oil???

When did you test the lather? Is it after taking it from the mold, I mean the curing period.
Many thanks! Excellent! Your workbook has helped a great deal too!

Do the blue color last after few weeks

Very useful information 👌 Thank you so much 💓
Tried this but my batch turned light green. Not too surprised. I have read from other soap makers they have had the same issue
Can we use woad or butter fly pea powder
Does it stay blue after 4 weeks ?
On my list to do soap. Thank you

Fantastic video. Does it stay that gorgeous colour after the cuting period? Do you know if adding sodium lactate change the colour?
Thank you! Yes it stays the same color and sodium lactate won't affect the color😊

Beautiful! Could these natural dyes work with a melt & pour soap? I find your videos very relaxing X
P.S - That colour :)
Thank you😊 Yes indigo works with melt and pour too!
The only indigo powder I could find was green, it did turn blue but not the blue I expected.

When the lye solution has cooled down.

Será que é possível outro óleo sem ser oil castor óleo porque acho que no Brasil 🇧🇷 não deva ter pois nunca ouvi falar
Castor oil has a very unique fatty acid profile so it can't really be substituted
Btw I used Serbian blue clay and those soaps' colour turned out like this one.
Oh really😍
