*This IS SO GOOD!* That's why we need a Mother Anime, I didn't even came this close to crying when I played the game. Lucas's sad expressions and the Oh-so-awesome soundtrack made this so rich and emotional.
I always saw Earthbound as being in a Peanuts/Charlie Brown style, but I agree Mother 3 would definitely work better as either an anime or live-action film.
To be fair I didn't shed tears during this part (it's just a personal issues that I've the defensive mechanism that tend to not showing fragileness during the occurrence but I'll always get emotional retrospectively), however, that didn't mean I'm not into it or be touched. In fact I really appreciate what the devs. do here. They turns the emotional outburst of the protagonist(s) into a poetic scene (and the entire game is full of symbolism). And I believe it is the best reason for the team cling to the pixiel art slyte, because it makes the game at an imaginary level rather bringing it out to a concrete level. With that said, your work captured the atmosphere par excellence. Thank for bringing such a beauty piece into being!
The soundtrack of Mother 3 always makes me feel so nostalgic. I still remember playing this game in my childhood and it made me miss my mom whenever she wasn't with me.
One of the most powerful scenes in Mother 3 When Lucas saw his 'mother' I thought he was going to commit suicide and then...he jumped off that cliff...just to reach her...
I like to think that in this part, Hinawa is guiding him back to safety, since he lands in the hay bale where Wes and Alec happen to be searching for him and the party
There’s so many things I’m realizing now that I’m playing this game a second time (converted my friend to the Mother series, so now I’m watching him play M3). I don’t think it occurred to me the first time that he very well could have been ending his life here. I think, at first, I thought he was just seeing her because he missed her and he needed her in that moment. Manifesting, kind of. But I thought about it for a second and was like, if boney saw her, then it must be her actual spirit appearing to him. I figured he jumped because he wanted to be with her so badly. Lucas is a deeply emotional kid, but he’s not stupid. I think he knew the consequences of that jump, and dying was something he was willing to risk. If you talk to him as duster during chapter 2, Lucas says that he wishes it had been him (referring to to Claus). Have you seen the fan made video someone did with flints sprites for this scene? Flint was originally meant to be in the party for longer and was going to be in this cutscene too.
This is the most saddest animation i’ve ever seen in my lifetime! Definitely 10000000/10 The Animation is so smooth, satisfying graphics, and not to mention the beautiful visuals and it is just so sad. Keep up the good work WatanoLemonT
I adore this video. Not only because Lucas is my favorite video game character, it's because of how the game had such a good and sad story to it. And seeing this really warms my heart because I remember this moment in the game. Lucas really has it rough and I feel bad for him. Great job on this.
In my entire history of video games I have never met a character as tough as Lucas. His mother died, brother went missing, and dad was determined with finding his missing son. All the while his home was being transformed by a crazed man child. He still pushed on fighting for when he believed. Gained awesome powers, gained two friends who are like family, deepened his bond with his trusty dog, saw amazing sight's, and became one of the coolest character I've had the fortune of playing of. good work man on the video
aaaaaaaaaahhhh this is so good!!!! the way lucas tears up before leaping at hinawa, it's so GOOD, it's not just Tears, his face gets all scrunchy and red bc that's what Happens when you cry!!! not to mention everything else abt it! sososo good!
The beautiful texturing and opacity you've given the sunflowers really contributes to the dreamlike setting of the sunflower field, and overall, manages to perfectly encapsulate this ethereal, tragic scene. Kudos!
I find it ironic that throughout the Mother series, the Mothers themselves got more and more important. In Earthbound Beginnings, she was just at Ninten’s House and didn’t serve a major role but in Earthbound, Ness’ Mom was an integral game mechanic and if you didn’t call her, Ness would get homesick and miss turns in battle so it was important that you rung her every once in a while. And by the time we got to Mother 3, Hinawa plays a big part in the story and essentially kicks off the events that take place in the game, so, she leaves an impression on you (The Player) as a figure that, though she is gone, still looks over Lucas and helps him in a way no other character in the Mother Series has ever done which is kind of amazing considering she doesn’t fight alongside you like say Flint but is still an overlooking presence that is trying to help her remaining son overcome his grief and grow stronger which is quite a powerful message for a series from Nintendo, which is why I like Mother 3 as it provides a deep, emotional message about the importance of family in an honestly outstanding presentation, all wrapped up in a small little cartridge that you can experience anytime, anywhere and with anyone, which is what I think Itoi planned from the start. An amazing story, made into a great game for everyone to enjoy.
kendrick5501 Yeah, but she wasn’t really introduced until near the end of the story, so though she plays a significant role within the context of the series as a whole, she doesn’t serve much in the story of Earthbound Beginnings, other than with her and the Eight Melodies in Magicant.
@@horridlorries1237 It's still significant if she knows the Eight Melodies, which is a lullaby she used to sing to Giygas, who is the main antagonist & she's Giygas's mother
