This! I'm torn between this, the EOS R, A6600 or Fujifilm X-T4. The two latter are cheaper and "only" APS-C, but I could spend the extra money on better lenses

a tip i found somewhere is to (when using slog3 with sgamut3cine) push saturation to like 10-15 within the camera picture profile and not leave it at zero. and then, when grading, it's less likely to break. so, to add more color from the start. i find if i dont do that, when i increase saturation or vibrance in premiere it tends to break under some circumstances. whereas with saturation set to 15 from the camera, i dont have to add so much to the saturation or vibrance in premiere. also, seems to me that in premiere the 'vibrance' slider breaks color faster than 'saturation'.

Compared to the A7iii this A7C has a flip screen & the new gyro stablization from the A7Siii. That alone makes it worth it for me. Fits nicely between the A7Siii and the A6500 for example.

YES PLEASE FULL FLIP OUT ON A SONY! wow I'm so over the flip up screws/bars situation on my a6400 (not that I can afford to change cams just yet haha but still exciting!)

@@RobDymott I like Sony's flip up screens, because you can quickly open it for low & high shots AND when vlogging you can actually look at the screen but it will seem like you are looking in the lens
So far it's been a VERY worthwhile camera. I love it. Making a camera without a flippy screen is causing us creators too much grief!

perfect lens for this is the 20mm 1.8: small, wide, great low light, lightweight, bokeh and a dial for the aperture, no oss but with the a7c you can use the catalyst gyro stabilization
Yes - thats my choice of lens with the 55mm. The catalyst browse software is cool. Ive begun shooting a lot of vertical video for SM and this camera with the flip is ideal.
true 20mm 1.8 is perfect match with a7c = compact full frame vlog package

Took long enough been looking at other videos the past week looking for this
Couple great compact and relatively light wide angle (between 16 & 24mm ish) lens options for people looking to get this:
- Samyang 18mm f2.8
- Sony 20mm f.1.8
- Sony 16-35mm f4
- Tamrom 17-28mm f2.8
Or you have some $$$
- Zeis Batis 18mm f2.8
- Sony GM 24mm f1.4
There's also the two Sony GM zooms, the Sigma primes and zoom options but they're probably a bit too heavy and too expensive for people buy the a7c.
I really hope this makes sony's a6000 series line cheaper...
You should try the tamron 17-28mm f2.8! It works perfect with AF and is super tiny like you were mentioning
A smallish wide lens that should go nicely with the A7C is the Sony FE 20mm F1.8. Its like a smaller version of the widely loved FE 24mm F1.4 GM.
The a7c is a good camera! I also have that camera. I'm excited because it's so light and compact. This video was very interesting! I will come to play again. With love from Japan :)
The a7c is the perfect camera for me. I have had it for about six months and I love it. I wish it had more custom buttons, but other than that it’s perfect. I take it with me all the time now due to the small form factor and get great videos and pictures.
do you know the Iso stages for filming in low light which are good without getting too much noise ? I wanna shoot in normal not slog

I upgraded to the old reliable Canon M50... Still works great for my youtube videos but its tome for an upgrade already!!

Did you try the stabilization in Sony catalyst browse? The a7c includes gyroscopic data. That seems like a huge advantage - small camera, throw on a small wide lens like the 20 f1.8 or and you have an amazing video setup without needed a gimbal.
Hey Matti! I am no vlogger so I may not understand your workflow and what not, but have you ever thought about using proxies in premiere? Not sure why in previous vlogs in your testing of new cameras you were trying to edit in raw 4k, and even 8k raw? Why not use proxies in premiere? When I was at my last video production company we would come back with our footage, pop it in to make the proxies and then editing is a breeze, even on an old 21” imac, and then you can also switch between proxies and original footage with the touch of a button for viewing frames or short sections of the footage! It works great in my opinion. :)
Should I upgrade from the canon 80d to Sony a7c or should I just go to the canon eos R? I am thinking a7c rn

For a tiny wide lens for like $300 the tamron 20mm 2.8! I own it for my vlogging and use it ALL the time haha would pair so well with the a7c for compact size!

I really don't think he will (or that he wants to) since that would mean that he can't review cameras from any other brands. That's exactly the reason why Manny Ortiz stopped at his own will being a Sony Ambassador because he wanted to have the liberty to be able to review other company's stuff. Matti already has that liberty and a channel big enough that any brand will want to send him stuff to check out so I don't see him renouncing that.

Because he said sony a7siii is the best camera of 2020 and he praised it! and he also MENTIONED everyone is praising a7siii that's facts too this year sony did a very awesome work this time and a7c is nothing but sony apsc with full frame that's all! The apsc body has the similar body of a7c but with full frame and everyone is telling it is over priced but canon r or something I didn't remember the name exactly but that camera price is 1800 which is same as a7c here a7c is better than canon camera for sure!

Matt, i am considering the sony a7c over a7iii just for the articulated screen and more video options. Not a vlogger, but i do film corporate stuff, documentaries, eng reports, music covers and a bit of photography. Mainly portrsits, street, photojournalism. Does the C have a headphone jack? Can it handle canon ef and sigma or Tamron lenses with converter? Are batteries similar to a7iii or not. I aiming for a7iii, for an all around camers. A7siii not in my range. Fujis are nice but where im from you dont get hired if not full frame body. Professionaly speaking, would you risk all new features of a7c for older a7iii, or vice versa?

You can try on the R5 the 4K standard with clarity full and the quality very good and no issues in editing... but to be honest if it’s for UA-cam and not cropping 200%, I don’t the see the difference plus the file are smaller... Let me know 👍🏽 Btw nice video 👌🏽
