@5:28 the ratio control valve. I just got the P1778 code, which is also a stepper motor code. But after inspecting valve body, i noticed the ratio control valve doesnt move very freely. It almost feels a little sticky inside the bore? Its al cleaned up, but still feels a little sticky. What should i do now? Replace entire valve body?
On locking in the shifter rod while lifting the valve body back on, did you really lock it in through the tapped hole instead of the tiny drilled factory hole?
I agree. Its the little pilot hole and not the bolt hole. If you do it like this video then when you pull it out, it wont catch the pin. How do I know? Because I did it. The arm should be to the right in the video and held by a small hanger or something and not the left side.
@@mikestanley6331 so when he is putting that little pin to hold that thing he was spouse to put it in the second hole on the right the small one ? Because I’m sure you are right but his car was driving after lol weird
Thanks for this video. .today i have given my nissan sylphy 2.0 which is not running above 20km per hour speed.Diagnostic shows stepper motor problem. This happen after driving car for 200 km on highway. Cost of changing is USD 400 in Malaysia on 2.3.2019.Hope after changing step motor , car will perform.
Xx GodxX yes. It worked. But other than step motor there was some electrical issue to sensors too were there. After repairing back wiring of car now it is working perfectly.
I just replaced the step motor but now it’s not shifting gears do you know what my problem could be? I also use the Castrol CVT fluid with said it was compatible for Nissan but the fluid was red. I notice everyone else using the green Nissan stuff. How to replace the whole valve body?
Rey thank you for such amazing. I have a 2008 Nissan Sentra and through me code p1777 which is the stepper motor. I replaced the stepper motor and two plates came apart abd I am not sure how to put them back. Do you a video how to put back the part where the solenoids goes and the other plate underneath, or can I put the all thing together and them install it back?? Help please thank you
If your step motor still isnt working and you get the step motor or ratio code its because there is a pre drilled factory hole that holds the lever back. If you pin it to the left as the video shows, when you torque it all down and pull your pin it will not be engaged therefore your tranny wont shift right. Lever should be to the right in video. How do I know? Because I did it. Good luck everyone.
Edgard Figueroa The transmission has a fluid that needs to be cooled. Normally it is cooled by conventional radiator. I literally just added another radiator so that more cooling can take place. You can search after market transmission cooler and You will find many on amazon or auto stores. I got mine from amazon with all the hardware and installation instructions included.
i am replacing the valve body on my 2012 nissan juke, it is the same one. when i pulled the old valve body off the car, a round bushing fell out of the trans. i noticed the same bushing in your video, Where does it go?
i think it goes to shift connector rod, at 0:45 seconds in the video, you see a rod hanging? when you put back the valve body , there is a collar like round metal part ( what you may call a bushing) that goes over this rod and then you secure it with a bolt.
Great video sir. Im actually working on mines at the moment🙏💪👍 oh and guys mine is a 2007 Nissan altima and its exactly the same as in this video. If anyone wanted to know
How pissed was you when you found out that the replacement stepper motor has a longer shaft than the OG ? I did the same thing you did on my 2010 Rogue . Keeping my fingers 🤞🏻
Same length shaft, just might have been extended further than yours at the time you installed it. It will self adjust as you drive. That shaft fully extends and fully retracts as needed. The main issue is not always does the stepper motor fix the issues, even though it gives the stepper motor code! Alot of people have same symptoms after replacing the part. Hopefully it works for you!
No one shows the bolts that support valve body to transmission. There is about 30 bolts and I dont know how to bring valve body down without completely disassembling it.
Very nice explanation But you will not explanation how to check wiring from out side valve body I think it must be first be for remove ed valve body Much more thank you for you
AWESOME VIDEO. ESPECIALLY the part about holding back the pivot arm! mine worked great except it's not shifting past the mid points and stays locked after 40mph or so at 3000+ rpm. Now it's giving me a P-1778 instead of P-1777. Mechanical is not responding. I think it's the brand of step motor but i'm gonna double check all the DTC parameters first.
my cusin had 2009 nissan roug with that code and the dealer dont sell that part u ieather got to buy a vavel body i think it 1200.00 or buy a trans for it
@@arturoalba3865 Change them both... They only cost about $30.00 each on E Bay for Nissan factory ones. As the parts houses want $190.00 for one...And change that round filter in the side of the transmission..Cost about $14.00 for factory one.. Take notice. If you drop that pan and it's full of metal or them links. Just get a used transmission..
James P. Jones V 6 1/2 quarts I didn’t flush the transmission fluid but if you need to flush the transmission fluid completely it will take like 8 to 8 1/2 quarts

Thank you so much.. I fixed my Nissan sentra thanks to your video.. have a great day

I'd say, yes, the whole valve body would need to be replaced.
Aw crap
Did you end up replacing the whole valve body ?
Is it good idea to reused the old transmission fluid when you changing a part like stepper motor??
Hi i have the ratio control valve stuck, do u think i can grind it until it get smooth? Will it damage the transmission?

Is there any reprogramming necessary when disconnecting and re-connecting the valve body?
supposedly only when replacing it
Did you reuse the oil pan metal gasket? It seems like it might leak. Maybe some gasket maker??
Juan Alberto Isidro I use gasket maker is better
@@reycaro8545 Thank you!!!
Ok so what if the ratio control valve is not smooth like u said? I cleaned it out and its not helping I don't know what to do
I got the same code it reves up and down on D . Any thoughts?
What’s that one part that you said it has to be smooth so you won’t get the code if it’s not the step motor
Good video bro, i appreciate you!
I replaced the step motor and still having the same issue, any ideas?
Me too but driving ok actually really good when I first got in it,we'll see when I drive it more mayb it will turn off🤞🏾

Hi I did everything you mentioned in the video and my car still isn't shifting from low gear. I changed the step motor and still nothing.
I'm curious because I'm about to do the same. Did it ever fix the problem????
It doesnt always fix the issue. Sometimes its internal damage, but the computer sees it as a stepper motor code...
Excelente buena Información
Im seeing ratio control valves should have spring but mines dont have one
I have the same problem with my Nissan it drives but doesn’t shift so Do I need this part or How do I fix it?

Thank you for your advice your help your video help me a lot with my car problem 👍👍👍
Brother Great job ! Should I buy a OEM or aftermarket stepper motor ?
Great video , Can’t wait to tackle the project

I got mines from Amazon

did it work?
No lol. I just ended up swapping out the whole transmission 😁👍🤘🔥
Before you replace the step motor, What was the highest RPM you get on the car??
4000 rpm you can get the step motor in eBay
The thing it's that I don't know if the code p1777 can cause not to accelerate almost like there's no pedal o no throttle body.
100ega spark plugs that what my car had it wouldn’t go for anything
