Good morning Elle, hope you have an amazing week ahead!!! Don't ever be afraid to post a health update because without your health there wouldn't be Reptile videos!!! 😊
Awww thank you so much. I just don't know if people still want to know 😅
I hope you have an amazing week, too!
@@ellesreptiles 2023 taught me not to take anything for granted!! My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and she almost died of cardiac arrest on December 12th during a treatment. Health always comes 1st!! 😊
Wishing you a continued and full recovery
Thank you 💜💜💜
Glad to hear your doing OK! Our prayers will be with you and your family for a speedy recovery. I know it's a long process. But you will be in our thoughts! Keep up the great content.
Thank you so much! You are too kind 🥰
So happy for your continued recovery!
So glad that you are doing well. Thank you for doing the update.
MRI is a magnetic imaging. No radiation there, you're safe. Glad to hear you're recovering. Best wishes
What!!!! That's unbelievable! I haven't watched this channel in a couple of years and had no idea! This is crazy... praying for you girl
Hello Elle, glad you’re doing well. I have a daughter and granddaughter with the same condition .
Wow, I would have never thought that someone your age would even have a chance for a stroke. Best wishes and God bless!
Big unconditional healy hugs
🥰
I am so incredibly happy that you are recovering well. You have been invaluable in helping me research care for the bearded dragon I hope to get soon. My stroke was deep in my left hippocampus, and has messed with my language ability and memory very badly. It's been 7 years, and I'm still recovering.
I'm so sorry you had to go through that! I wish you so much more healing. 💜💜💜
And early congrats on the beardie, you're going to do great!
That’s a lot to take in for you and your family! Continued prayers for all.
Thank you so much 💜
So happy you are on the road to recovery!
Thank you so much 💜
So glad you are on the mend Elle!
So glad to hear you're getter better! I hope the road ahead gets even better!
I'm glad you're ok!
Hi Elle,I have a cousin who has what you have. She also developed pots after a virus..This was before 2020. Anyway,I'm so pleased you have done so well.
An MRI runs with big magnets,no radiation required to make the awesome images. Your the bees knees as well. Stay safe,it's scary out there.
It's so crazy that viruses can cause POTS. But that's awful, POTS is no fun 😕
I am so sorry to hear about this hope you feel better i love you’re videos before you know it you will be up and running but don’t rush it
It's honestly wild the correlation between ND people, connective tissue disorders, and pots, as well as GI issues. I hope to start seeing more studies on that in the future🤔 I'm so glad you had a good outcome♥️
Right!? And I check all the boxes. My husband and I have talked about that so many times. I would absolutely love to see studies on that
@@ellesreptiles same here, just a different connective tissue disorder in the same family(Marfans).
praying for you!
I’m so happy that you’re doing better and I hope you get a full recovery every time you post you make my day better
Thank you so much 🥹💜💜💜
@@ellesreptiles your welcome I love you so much you are the reason why I am getting a bearded dragon you have helped me so much
We have some similarities in our health issues so I feel you. I had a heart attack in 2020 at the age of 42. Don't remember how blocked my arteries were, but had a triple bypass done. Cardiologist put me on metoprolol tartrate for BP and to regulate my heart because of my Afib. Also on Eliquis the blood thinner, which gave me the period from hell for over a year. Ended up having an endometrial ablation and that stopped the period issue. My hair has thinned a bit, and I still can't walk very far without having to stop, nor can I stand in place for more than maybe 5 minutes without pain. Extremely grateful for Medicaid cause I'd be dead without it. I hope you continue with your healing!
Thank you so much! I had the exact same problems with Eliquis. And then they changed me to Plavix - didn't help much with the hair, AND it caused huge bruises all over my body whenever something would just bump me.
Now I'm on just regular strength aspirin (and metoprolol), so hopefully that continues to be enough. I wish you the best 💜💜💜
@@ellesreptiles Did you try Xarelto? I've had a few people recommend trying that one instead of Eliquis, but at this point I don't know if I should switch. Glad you could get off it. I'm stuck on it for life because of my Afib.
Hope things keep improving for you
You've come a long way. Great! Thanks for posting this update.
Keep well.
I'm so happy to hear that you're doing so much better.
You're a real trooper Elle. To go through all that and seem to be doing very well again. That's awesome!! Hope your road to recovery continues smoothly!!
Great update! ❤ happy to hear your recovery is going well 🙂
Glad to hear you're doing well and making great progress ❤ we appreciate you!!
You're so strong to open up about your health like this. I'm glad to hear of your progress and hope your health only gets better from here. Lots of love.
Welcome to the POTsie club. I have it too, and I have to wear pressure socks. I don't quite qualify for Ehlers-Danlos but we're keeping an eye on things in that direction anyway. So glad you're able to be up and moving! I hope things continue to just get better and better for you.
Pressure socks - does that help? No one has mentioned that, and I got diagnosed with POTS 4ish years ago 😅
It can depending on what kind of POTS you have going @@ellesreptiles . It may be worth asking a Doctor about, to see if it'll help you. I have the generally-low-blood-pressure high-heartrate type with Dysautonomia problems in general but there are other sorts of POTS reactions. I'm supposed to raise my sodium intake by a lot and wear pressure socks, and I take a prescription- there's a lot of options, but of course see what your medical professional says. Best wishes!
Im so happy that you are doing better. Lots of prayers was going your way.
Sending you so much love and peace ❤❤❤❤❤
Glad to hear that you have some answers and are on the mend! Looking forward to more great videos as you share your knowledge.
Praying that you have a full recovery and you're back to your old self before you know it.
That's so crazy. I wish you the best, this stuff is so scary.
Thank you 💜
Hi Elle, so glad you're doing well! I was getting daily migraines 8 years ago which led to me having what looked like a stroke, luckily for me it wasn't. However, I gave up caffeine that day and my migraines reduced to once every few months, and if I accidentally consume caffeine now it triggers a migraine. If you drink caffeinated drinks, maybe you could try changing to caffeine free, it might help you too.
Thanks for all your hard work on UA-cam!
Paul
That's super interesting! Luckily I haven't had a migraine in 8 months, but it's always so wild learning about different migraine triggers.
No, you...are the bees knees. An inspirational beast of a conqueror. Wishing you many, many more years of genuine love, tons of success, and fulfillment!
You're too kind 💜
Sorry to hear that. But glade ur
doing good I will keep u in my prayers. God bless u and to all a bless day 🙏❤️❤️❤️
Girl you are beautiful and I'm glad you're doing good. I love your videos!
Awww thank you 💜
@@ellesreptiles You're welcome
Hey there! I have vEDS (Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) along with comorbid issues (gastroparesis, neuropathy, autonomic dysfunction and Eagles Syndrome) and some other lesser issues that commonly coexist with vEDS. I have survived some very close call near-death experiences, myself (arterial dissections - kind of a flagship of vEDS). I use a wheelchair a lot of the time and have a feeding tube called a J-tube - lots of big life adjustments! We sure do overcome a lot! If you ever need a friend, I am here. Thanks for sharing with us! I LOVE your reptile videos SO much - but anybody following you for the right reasons also cares about YOU as a person and will be happy for your health updates, too! Don't hesitate to post them on YOUR channel, girl!
The arterial dissections that caused my stroke is actually what prompted them sending me to the genetics specialist - I'm so sorry you've had to go through all that. You are so incredibly strong for that 💜
And thank you so much for the kind words. The support I receive on these videos is always somehow so unexpected but so needed 💜💜💜
So proud of you Elle, you always have our support, thank you for sharing because it helps others to understand.
Thank you 💜💜💜
Glad to see your doing better. 🙏 for you keep up the work. Proud of you...
Thank you 💜
Sound like good new health wise all around. Great update thanks.
GOD BLESS 🙏💖🙏💖🙏💖🙏💖
Thank you 💜💜💜
Glad your doing good. Wish you the best with a full recovery. Don't overdue yourself and keep making videos!🙂
Thank you so much 💜
So glad to hear you're on the up and up! Crazy that you had an artery that was just offline and you had no idea. I didn't even know that was possible! I hope you have a great week and your health only continues to improve Elle! Love your videos
I didn't know it was possible either 😅 the doctors also seemed a bit confused haha. I'm curious if it ever started working again 🤔
Your brave this stuff scares me all the time, i hope you don't have any problems in the future im quite new to the channel but love the videos. X
Thank you so much 💜 and welcome to the channel
Ayyy. I've had POTS and migraines for 8 yrs myself. It's SO fun...
Great to hear. Hoping you’re going to the Snake Discovery build off!!
We're planning to be there 🥰
Glad to know you are doing swellllll.
I know someone who had that she passed away last year from alot of medical conditions. I'm glad your on a road to recovery
Oh no. I'm so sorry 🥺
@@ellesreptiles thanks just glad to see your recovering and doctors are figuring out everything that is going with you I was just diagnosed with Lupus and other stuff so I know how hard it can be
Beautiful morning to you Elle! I'm so glad to here your wonderful progress and you have test results that can pretty much answer to why you had this stroke. Praise God that you have gotten back almost all of your physical abilities, lost the migraines, can see and walk! My young female friend that recently had a stroke was found to have a hole in her heart. She was off of work about 2 months and could not drive. Eventually, her sight improved some to where she could go to work and short distances around her house. She's having a very expensive sight therapy done and is hoping to get back to 100% sight. You take good care of yourself and never ever be afraid or embarrassed to post something that doesn't have to do with reptiles. I think we all love you sharing and advising about reptiles, but I know I absolutely love you just for you!
Awww thank you so much 💜 the support I get on these is always so overwhelming - I'm not sure why I still worry about posting these sorts of things.
It's interesting about the hole in your friend's heart - they actually found a hole in my heart when doing testing in the ICU. Luckily it's not significant enough to need surgery, but I never knew it was there until all this happened
@@ellesreptiles my friend did need surgery, but it seems like they kicked her out of the hospital rather quickly. Maybe it was less invasive than I thought. Strangest thing is she is under a cardiac specialists care and has been for quite a long time. I guess we have technology to thank for advancements! Take care youngun. Always rooting for you guys!
Hope your doing well
Thank you for the update! I made a point not to ask because if you wanted us to know something, you’d tell us. I’m glad you’re up and around again. Continuing physical therapy will help so, so much. I happy for you🥰
You're too kind. Thank you so much 💜
I don't mind talking about it at all - I just get worried people don't want to know 😅
@@ellesreptiles Aw, I should’ve asked. Every video you put out I’ve thought of how you’re doing. I’m so glad everything is moving in a positive direction!!❤️
Glad you are doing well. I hope that you continue to do so. I also hope that in future maybe you can get rid of that last blood thinner as they can be dangerous. I am guessing that the Doctors probably say it's not possible. However, there are people everyday that are diagnosed with things that the Doctors have said it wasn't possible that they would get rid of it but they did. Anyway keep your spirits up and I hope you have a great week.
Thank you! 😊
I'm so sorry you had one so young,
For the POTS, have you discussed upping your water/electrolyte intake with your doctor? Many of us use something like Skratch hydration and it seems to help quite a bit.
I have! I try to drink an obscene amount of water everyday and (although it was never discussed with my doctor) I drink a Propel everyday because I just noticed it seems to help. I've never heard of skratch hydration though. I'll look into that!
I was worried when you said Eds that pots would be added. :( I’m sorry. I do not have eds but I’ve had pots since I was 4. I hope you continue to improve and respond to meds
I'm only 37 and had a stroke towards the end of last summer and they still don't know what caused or why it even happened so hope you feel better..
Oh no I'm so sorry 🥺 I hope you keep healing and I hope you get some kind of answers 💜
Okay! Mr..s Fantastic. Glad youre doing much better! What blood thinner are you on I'm on river rocks..ok fine its rivahrox or something
When you said you had a stroke I was confused because you always looked healthy😢😢
Aww, yea, I was also quite confused 😅
😎👍
Thats good
Hi Elle! I had something similar happen to me and I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, which is often comorbid with EDS and POTS. A neurosurgeon would be the best to diagnose it based on an MRI of the brain. Did your brain scans show any herniation of the cerebellar tonsils?
I'm not sure, I know the neurologists (and cardiologists) in the neuroICU tested for a lot of abnormalities. I was sort of out of it for a bit there 😅 but I don't remember that being mentioned
I'm so sorry something similar happened to you though - it's awful 💜🥺
hey glad your doing better! quick question, did u take any covid vaccines at all?
I did, but these issues started long before the vaccine. EDS is genetic - so I was born with it and born with a hole in my heart. The migraines started 8 years ago after my son was born, and I was diagnosed with POTS in 2020 after I had covid itself, before the vaccine.
There's a lot of people who have had blood clotting issues due to the vaccine, but my stroke wasn't because of a blood clot - my arteries ruptured due to them being weakened.
❤❤🖤🖤💚💚
I was wondering if your stroke was a covid related bc that's the current theory for one of my friends. she had had covid about a year before her stroke, though she was pretty healthy otherwise. I'm glad you're feeling better though
Maybe. I'm not sure. They asked quite a bit if I had had covid when I was in the hospital
😘
With all respect my first thought was you ate the gum gum fruit
😂 wow
Glad you are doing better . We have lost some good reptile people + your husband dose not want to go looking for another wife ( it's a nightmare for anyone for any gender) it's a slow road back & your doing well
Did you always know you had this condition? What made you think to get tested for this?
I've known about the POTS/taken medicine for it for a few years now - after my 8 year old was born, I started passing out during work outs, and it got progressively worse as time went on. After my 5 year old was born, it turned into almost passing out when standing up and my heart racing every time I stood up. I think it was the end of 2020ish I got put on medicine for that.
The Ehlers Danlos I was tested for because my primary care doctor was convinced that that's what was happening.
The hole in my heart (I'm not sure if I mentioned that in this video or a previous one) was found when I was in the ICU with an excruciating "bubble test" 😅 I have a very high pain tolerance but that HURT.
I had a gf who was able to bend her wrists so much she could touch forearm with her fingers tips of the same hand. I know there's more to it but damn hope she's ok.
How you feeling
Pretty ok! Some days definitely better than others, but I'm pretty ok 🥰
@@ellesreptiles hope you start feeling better than you are in the future love your videos and the reptile community I'm getting my first ball python next Tuesday because of the reptile hobby and your videos keep up the amazing work without your channel I probably wouldn't have spent a year researching on ball pythons and watching so many reptile videos 🥰
welcome to the zebra club!
Welcome to the EDS club. It's, uh, not a very fun one, save being able to freak out people by being oddly pliable.
Haha well thanks. It's crazy because I just never noticed. The Geneticist was initially just having me do all these bendy things and I was like "🤷🏽♀️ yea I can do that". I just thought it was all normal this whole time 🥹
@@ellesreptiles So did I! I was even in dance and gymnastics because it came so easily. And that was literally the worst thing I could have done. My mobility issues are getting sooo bad at only 39.
