I don't know if it's just me but McGunnis build feels really good after this patch. Maybe it's placebo but I feel like that decay rate buff really helped.
Omfg I tried it for like last 3 days and failed everytime and was so mad, lost my lane 2 times and I was like "wtf why I can't hit it even once now". Thought I just suck dick.
If Bomb Bebop is a problem because he's a noob stomper but hard at being useful in high MMR, then change how his bomb stacks should work. Make it a gradual stack instead but you still lost stacks on death. So the damage wouldn't be as high if Bebop being able to farm stacks early on. 2.5% damage stacks in the first 10 minutes (like it was before), then 5% in 10-25 minutes, and then 7.5% or 10% after 25 minutes. But then you lose 3 or 4 stacks on death instead of flat percentage. So then if Bebop kept dying, he wouldn't be able to deal damage with his bombs and severely putting him on the back line. But Bebop could still able to catch up with his bomb stacks if can keep staying alive in the mid-late game even though he was having a hard time farming stacks in the early game.
completely agree with your take on bomb bebop. I don't understand why Valve has such a hate boner for it. I am Ascendant 1 and have never had issues with a bomb bebop even before the nerfs. I don't know if in lower mmr bomb bebop still pubstomps and Valve doesn't like that but it's so crazy when there are MULTIPLE ways to completely counter the effect of the bomb. + The fact that in a more experienced lobby it'll be harder for Bebop to build stacks anyways, because people will play more carefully around you. If they hate bomb build that much they should at least rework the ability to make it more useful in general instead of completely relying on building up damage per stacks. I feel like anytime you go for another build other than bomb build it becomes a weaker/lesser ability because you're not focused on building stacks.
Yeah the focus on Bebop-bomb is absurd considering the state of the game. Shiv dominates every lobby with the cringest boredom game-play, Abrams is literally lead-poisoned brain damage, Mcginnis has infinite ult, Kelvin is overtuned dogshit that can only be explained by IceFrog having a literal fetish for the character.. Terrible state of game.
As a Mcginnus main of over 300 games, I wanted to just say I'm quite happy with the changes. Overall it's a slight nerf, but the gun decay rate change is massive to laning. Previously you'd have to just accept you had to start prefiring for soul securing/denying wasting a lot of ammo. Having tested the changes in sandbox this morning, I can say she maintains her attack speed for a lot longer and requires a lot less "sunk rounds". For example you'd often have to sink a quarter of an early game magazine to get your weapon speed up to full in order to go for denies and last hits, meaning mcginnus really hard to waste a lot of time reloading. This is a QOL change that makes Mcginnus's laning FAR FAR easier. I'll take the hit elsewhere for a change like this that's gonna make laning feel MUCH nicer.

See how Jonas play and he rarely get good stacks nowadays. The last changes already nefred Bomb Bebop a bit, but this one means there's no point of playing Bomb Bebop because you lose stacks you've accumulated anyway.

The bom nerfs are gonna throw out the balance, I don't think valve understands, a good bomb Bebop is the only character that can keep up with Abrams in the very late game, where all others fall behind. We can all agree shiv needed nerfs, but the 8 or so nerfs he got this patch was hella excessive. They nerfed nearly every ability, playstyle, and phase of his gameplay. His jungling and lane phase are worse, he’s worse in teamfights in close quarters due to tankiness nerf and worse in poke due to knife and escalating exposure nerfs.
Maybe the Haze changes were the good moments and friends we made along the way 🙏

That isn’t even the only hard counter for it, there are a ton of them. Ivy statue, viscous cube, dynamo teleport, a couple different actives, etc.
