At the 1st race in 2016 she was calling strategy for Haas. Alonzo crashed. cars started to pit for tires. She told the Haas guys to stay out. There'll be a red flag. We'll get a free tire change. Which is what happened. They got 5th and 6th place. In the first race for Haas in F1. A legendary call
Alonso's (enormous) crash was with one of the Haas drivers. Only the remaining driver finished. Yes Ruth dictated the strategy but it wasn't a double points finish as only one finished 😂
Cheers to whomever does your youtube shorts. Saw around 3 reels and it was on the 4th one i ve commited to watching the entire episode. Great.stuff, different from the usual interviewed peole. Nice hang.
I just cant get enough of listening to ruth she is just a plethora of knowledge. She needs her own podcast a book or something. Such a genuine character.
Interesting how youtube works. Never heard of you until that "porpoising" gaffe, been watching f1 clips for 5 years. Thought you were a couple of dorks tbh. And this is the second video, and I'm totally sold on your channel. Brilliant guest, I love finding out more about these kind of professionals, she's sharp as a tack, totally comfy, and one of the reasons why f1 is the world's greatest sport. Thanks for your efforts
I just read about the COTA 2012 gearbox seal thing a few weeks ago and thought it was such a brilliant and clever "just within the rules" type of cheeky strategy and I'm so thrilled to discover that Ruth was part of that. Truly one of the great minds on the pit wall!
This was a great episode. I hope you get Ruth back again, she was awesome! A great role model for girls in STEM too :) (Side note: Ruth please write a book! :D )
Love Ruth's energy and passion for the support. You can see it in her eyes and hear it in her voice. Great guess, especially for older and bigger fans.
This is such a great episode and a great podcast too. It's a shame I only found about you guys today from some short videos on TikTok!! I have been missing out so much, you guys are amazing!! More people need to see this episode
19:01 This part was very interesting because it was very different from the actual strategy adopted by Alfa Romeo in 2023. I noticed in many races, they would opt for not pitting under the safety car. Like in Singapore, if they pitted Zhou under the VSC, Zhou would have finished in 10th. That was a very memorable one. But I guess they have many reasons not to pit, because they couldn't have anticipated that Alex would be Kamikaze-d by Checo towards the end of the race.
I am now a huge fan of this woman!! Her energy, and the depth of her knowledge, and her fantastic way of relating her experiences are totally engaging! This was a fun and informative interview that left me wanting to hear more!!!! Bring her back again please!!!
Fab talked about it being freezing cold in vegas. The Riviera, now gone, had a line of doors along the sidewalk that opened right onto the gaming floor. Back in 2009 I was there with my dad and they had to close all the doors because it started snowing into the casino onto the gaming floor. People forget how cold the desert can get.
A very intersting interview, some insight into the behind the scenes of a F1 team. Incidently Dunlop supplied F1 with tyres in the glory days of Moss, Brooks, Hawthorne and Clark.
Like, seriously, like, I watched the second half and, like, you know, like, the glottal stops were also very, like, intrusive. Some work needed there. Superb and powerful woman who deserved her place in F1.
Best show yet. Red Bull now has Hanna Schmitz. I challenge anyone to name one race where Red Bull had a wrong strategic execution. Ruth and Hanna are the best of the best.
Very Nice podcast. Very lovely lady. But why is she on gardening leave. Which year did she start and which teams, on what order. Still don’t know. And yes invite her again.
Ruth tells a Story about how she debugged code on a formation lap, then says to get into F1 you need to study Maths, applied science or Computer Science & you ask what 11 x 11 is... 🤦🏻♂️ wtf C++ / Python / Java / 59:17

1 of the Haas DNF'ed...
Alonzo? Denzel Washington driving an F1 came to my mind.
Alonso's (enormous) crash was with one of the Haas drivers. Only the remaining driver finished. Yes Ruth dictated the strategy but it wasn't a double points finish as only one finished 😂
Best F1 Podcast episode I've seen. Ruth needs to write a book. 90.3k subscribers would buy it, I'm sure.
David thank you! She defo needs a book! Amazing stories amazing person. Cheers for watching
I'd definitely need that book!
This one was a banger. Ruth should have a F1 podcast.

Nice hang.
I don't even watch F1 but i still watched the whole thing
I just cant get enough of listening to ruth she is just a plethora of knowledge. She needs her own podcast a book or something. Such a genuine character.
I love having the strategy people in podcasts. Always Interesting to see how they think

A very intersting interview, some insight into the behind the scenes of a F1 team. Incidently Dunlop supplied F1 with tyres in the glory days of Moss, Brooks, Hawthorne and Clark.

Fantastic interview
Instant fan! What an amazing podcast! Ruth I've become your fan :)
Like, seriously, like, I watched the second half and, like, you know, like, the glottal stops were also very, like, intrusive. Some work needed there. Superb and powerful woman who deserved her place in F1.
Great video!! Ruth was very sharp and impressive!!
Best episode yet.
Absolutely awesome!!!! Glued.
51:00 I was like 'the right guy is like fuckin Frodo Baggins...' and he started admiring the fuckin ring on the stratmommy. you cant make this shit up
1:00:00 that feeling when you have to look twice like you misheard because your uni gets name dropped out if nowhere
Excellent interview!
It took me watching the podcast 4 times until i got the gag on the gardening leave even though you guys explained, oh my god…
What a great guest, living life in the fast lane and imagine her as an after dinner speaker.
Any Americans wondering about the Formula Student thing: it's typically called Formula SAE in the USA.
what a treat
haha love it!! Enjoy the race weekend. More guests coming! Ruth is amazing right
I remeber Yuki in 2021 he used rhe DRS like in the last corner in Bahrain test before the DRS zone
Inspirational lady, amazing role model to show my daughter what she can do with her maths smarts
I really enjoyed this
Best show yet. Red Bull now has Hanna Schmitz. I challenge anyone to name one race where Red Bull had a wrong strategic execution. Ruth and Hanna are the best of the best.
She’s Great, also that they don’t know anything F1 technically or regs makes this super funny
wooo this one seems exciting🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Josh mate!! Enjoy:))
When I scrolled by the thumbnail I thought this was Holly flax (Michael Scott’s wife from the office). Was thinking to myself what’s she doing in F1 😂
Really interesting episode!
Glad you enjoyed! Many more guests coming:)
“The battery on the Williams”😂
Loved the football references!!
She's BRILLIANT.
Do a live commentary of an F1 race with Ruth.
Great idea to be fair.. We will see what we can do haha
she is awesome ❤
Shes an absolute GEM
Very Nice podcast. Very lovely lady. But why is she on gardening leave. Which year did she start and which teams, on what order. Still don’t know.
And yes invite her again.
Great one guys
Thanks mate, we love this episode. Glad you enjoyed
this is the first time hearing ruth
Will Ruth be back in Maranello with Lewis?
Audi
Amazing episode 🙏🙏
Wait when these guys were shocked at 2010.. how old are they? They must be young. I still remember the coulthard and damon hill days.
Fantastic podcast - Ruth is brilliant.
Thanks so much! Isnt she INCREDIBLE!
after great guest Ruth was im waiting for an interview with Saint Hannah Schmitz.
This information will certainly help me in f1 manager 😂
DRS at random, that’s really wild 😱😂
Wasn't Kimi on gardening leave from Ferrari prior to his return w/ Lotus?
I remember Ruth at Ferrari
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Brilliant
Thank you brother!!
Cool podcast
at least someone on this episode knows what it's talking about
Ruth tells a Story about how she debugged code on a formation lap, then says to get into F1 you need to study Maths, applied science or Computer Science & you ask what 11 x 11 is... 🤦🏻♂️ wtf
C++ / Python / Java / 59:17
makes me feel old as fuck when were talking about the 1.8m wide turbo cars as 'old'.
Please don't ask what glottal stop is...
Than you definitely need to invite Bernie Collins 😊 apologies
make a live stream pod
Our latest video we just uploaded it about as close to live as we have ever been haha
I love the English accent
The thumbnail made me think that Holly Flax switched to F1.
Had she stayed Head of strategy Ferrari might have good strategies hahahaha
Wonderful interview but, like, there were a few too many 'likes'.
These guys have money 💰
Love her fangs
So…between her love for McLaren and the Quadrant track suit…you saying she’s going to McLaren?
Who is the scary guy at 25:18?😂
She has a strange pronounciation, but it's Arrivabene.
👌👏💫
I imagine she's good friends with Claire Williams
she reminds me of holly from the office lol
Have never seen the office but guessing Holly is a legend
@@pitstop you would be correct
Same!! Uncanny, really 😂
My thoughts exactly. She is the spitting image of the actress Amy Ryan, who played Holly.
Lets goooo!!
LETS GO ANDY!!!
