My experience with French food was extremely disappointing. I’ve been blessed to travel to various countries and my only disappointment has been with French food. I had always heard English food was bad; that wasn’t my experience. As an American, I found that the food in Great Britain was excellent.
This Olympics will change my perception of France. Honestly, I wouldn't call it a developed country. Inequality is glossed over as rampant discrimination, selfishness, and political correctness. It's a disappointing developing country with a low level of education and a dilapidated economy, so please do your best to become a developed country.

I've been saying for years french food is over rated. Think about it. Centuries ago when their biggest food competitors were nearby nations like Germany and great Britain, then yea, French food was better than saurkraut or kidney pie. But nowadays when the world can dine on Chinese, Mexican, Indian and Italian food etc right in their own neighborhood, most French food is plain and boring. Honestly some of the best food I ever had was at a couple orphanages in india made by old aunties. French food couldn't hold a candle.

Athletes need protein!!! French food does not live up to its rep. I worked in a Michelin starred restaurant, and staff had to eat there daily so we could recommend dishes and wines. A dish would be 3 oz. of meat, chicken or fish, a dab of rice and veg, and a pile of fatty sauce. They're all about "flavor flavor", and it mainly comes from the precious f'ing sauce. Also alcohol. Then you're labeled as declasse if you say you're still hungry. I hated it, and would never eat French cuisine again.
