The ECOCOOL Latitude 90 Qt Roller Cooler - Handle Pivot Caps (Handle assembly bolt/plug) popped out and I have no idea where it went. I've only used the cooler 3x. I recommend checking yours to see if it's loose, it's cheap plastic and poorly designed. However, I contacted Igloo and they are sending me a new cooler. I asked if they could send me the caps but they don't carry replacement caps. So, asked customer support if they could pop the caps out of the new cooler and just send them so I wouldn't have to send the damaged cooler and deal with the inconvenience, but they can't do that. The plugs get damaged when you take them out. He said not to worry they aren't requiring me to send back the used cooler. I'm very pleased with the customer service. Thanks for the review.
Yes. Pre cooling a cooler is you load it a day before with ice. Then drain off the water and refill with ice. Also a 90 quart cooler needs 120 pounds of ice, 2:1 ratio. In reality a 90 quart cooler is 60 quarts ice and 30 quarts your goods.
To get the best performance, even from the high end coolers: pack with ice the day before you need it, let it prime the cooler over nite. Load it with new ice and whatever else you want (should also be cold already), then make sure it is all the way loaded full. That is how you really test the cold retaining capability. If you just throw a bag of ice into any empty cooler, it will melt quickly.
@@Chechenzko to be honest, I did a few other tests that I posted, but this will keep ice for a day or so. No longer. If you are going for a longer trip, be sure you have access to ice somewhere.
You beat me too it! The only way to truly test ice retention is to pre cool the cooler. That being said, no injected molded cooler will compete with a roto molded cooler. I bet that ice was melted after 3 days, let alone 5.
I have this same cooler. I have only been able to hold ice for about 3 days and half. The other con for this cooler is the handle. If you have the cooler pass half way full the handle flex. So it definitely will break it pack it full. (Black handle). I use the gray handle when full and work fine. Hope that helps for anyone who decides to get this cooler.
It seems fine to me with about 40lb of ice and with case beer and a case of water and few Gatorades. But after adding another bag of ice , I could definitely feel the flexing.
I have the Igloo IMX 70 qt cooler and it kept ice for 4 days in my garage at 100 degrees, so yeah, there's something to it over this one. Mine costs $319
John Licon I have a new review coming up going head to head with more ice and using some tips folks have suggested. Long and short of my opinion so far, is you get what you pay for. The days of $100 getting a cooler that lasts anymore than a day and a half are long gone.
@@AceWillTravel thank you for the quick response. That's unfortunate. I'm still using a $50 Coleman 62q cooler for the last 10 year. It's great and holds ice for 2 days, but I need something bigger. Seems like you have to spend over $200 for a cooler that holds ice for a weekend without buying more ice.
I went camping, popped three bags of ice in there during daylight, and the next day, about end of day, half the ice was melted it was inside my car, meaning not under direct sunlight I have to say, this is pretty standard cooler performance for me, I mean it kept HALF the ice still cold I didn't even have any food in there, just ice bags, was going to store whatever I hunted in there
I just bought this and going camping in 2 weeks. How did it hold up on the camping trip? Is it worth drilling a couple of holes in the lid and filling it with spray foam? I’ve heard that works as a good hack. I wish I would have seen this video before I bought it. Is there a better 80-90 qt. with wheels for under $120 you would recommend?
Buy some Arctic Ice or even Yeti ice and put at the bottom of cooler, load a layer of ice then your drinks then one final layer of ice on top of the drinks as much to the top of cooler as possibe. Even the high end coolers recommend you pre chilling and filling as much as possible because dead air isn't good in a cooler.
your cooler was empty it needs to be full with precooled product of course its gonna melt empty when you put cold stuff im it it helps retain the cold that why they tell you to keep your freezer full and some big block ice also last longer
My 260 yeti doesn’t keep ice for 5 days at 90 degrees! Still super cold water at 5 days but not ice. Longest i have seen was about 3.5 days and half water half ice. It’s all BS when any of them claim the coolers can. Just buy reusable freeze blocks and mix those with ice. Ice melts, bleed off some Water. Doesn’t matter if ice or not. Matters of keeping your goods suitably cold.
Here's a hack for you that works Fill 4-6 Gatorade 1qrt bottles 80-90% with water(DO NOT FILL as bottles will split when frozen) and freeze them for at least 4 days before trip but preferably at least a week. Put all 4 in middle of cooler or split 2 lots of 3 if you have 6 bottles Place everything else in cooler. Slide a small bottle of Jack Daniels in one cornerBECAUSE Fill cooler WITH ICE to overflowing, covering everything. Make sure it's sealed shut Depart for your trip ENJOY Note bottles don't have to be Gatorade...any plastic drinking bottles will do just make sure they are frozen solid for at least 4 days but the longer they freeze the slower they will thaw. Last tip: educate everybody with you to be in & out of cooler quick smart and don't leave it open for tooooo long

First, you need to pre-cool the cooler then you have to fill it up with ice, a 20lb ice bag won’t do in a 90Qt cooler
Couldn’t agree more! I did a follow up recently. ua-cam.com/video/FZ93JiUTD1g/v-deo.html
how do you pre-cool a cooler this large? Do you mean fill it with ice, then more ice later?
Yes. Pre cooling a cooler is you load it a day before with ice. Then drain off the water and refill with ice. Also a 90 quart cooler needs 120 pounds of ice, 2:1 ratio. In reality a 90 quart cooler is 60 quarts ice and 30 quarts your goods.

Thanks - I may try that as a follow up.
@@AceWillTravel I'm about to buy this one... I dunno if you did the follow up, but would you say it improve performance changing conditions?...

This things sucks balls. Luckily, I bought it on clearance for 40 bucks. I was thinking about adding foam insulation in the lid to see if that helps.
The wifey is buying this one for us at Costco today ($69)...I switched to only dry ice in coolers a couple of years ago and have never looked back

Antonio Toole that’s what I have been afraid of the more I use this!

Thank you for saving me time and money on this cooler! ( I like the sad music you used to amplify the disappointment. )

Any updates on the cooler? Thinking about getting the same. So far you have the only review in UA-cam.

John Licon subscribe and stay tuned for an upcoming video. I hope it will yield better results.
Is the lid hollow or insulated? The quick fix I see is people putting insulated foam spray
That's too bad. It looked like a solid choice. I was considering spending a little more money and buying one instead of the Coleman Extreme 62 qt.

Now that looks like it could hold all the Mike's Hard that I want!
It holds quite a bit, but still needs replacement of the ice unfortunately
Would it fit in a regular size car trunk?
It depends on the trunk. Measures 31.84” in length, 17.84” in width, and 19.5” in height.

Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. This cooler will do the trick for a short camping trip though.
I've seen videos where people feel that with foam and they cooled list
Need a large cooler for power outage, to keep our perishables fresh

I’ll have a video coming up where this cooler will go up against a yeti - and I will pre-cool them both just to be sure.

Thank you!
Definitely didn’t look like over 2 gallons of water in there.
115° in vegas, probably last me half a day
Thank you. Saved me the trouble.
Got the 50qt for 28 bucks. Just need it to keep my beer cold while I'm out on the trail for that day.
Great video!!! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Ha!!! Great video!!!
Great edits. Lol
Too much air around the bag of ice will melt fast in any cooler.
Bear down!!
u need a lot more ice than a single bag for that size cooler, not a very good test.
Hahahahaha ahah good video!!
Thanks!
