Just tip when going through brush with a fly rod. Put the reel in your hand and let the rod and tip trail behind you. Doesn’t totally solve the problem but helps a lot. Good video!
Cool. So glad to see property owners that choose to conserve their beautiful lands. 3000 acres! That’s amazing. Here in PA, north of Philly, we’re happy when 10+ acres goes into a conservation easement.
I too frequent the East Walker. I don't fly unfortunately.. I own a SXS, and that's how I get to some of the more remote spots along the river. I prefer to fish the Nevada side. The big flows this year brought some of the bigger fish, even some of the trophy ones, far downstream. It was hard to find good water this summer because of the flow, but when I did.. what a reward! I will also say that I am very happy with how the Nevada State Parks operates the land they own out there. They believe in keeping everything open for use, and they make you feel encouraged to enjoy it. It is a wonderful place!
I am still absolutely blown away with the quality of your new hanger. I get a county built hanger in a few months. When we start keeping the planes on the ranch and we own the hanger, I am going to do it just like you did.
My favorite autumn fly is a hopper & a dropper combo. You got into some nice riffles. Great job! Great flying weather! Great way to spend a day in the KitFox! Thanks for taking us along, too!
Flying M is a very popular glider location! They used to run the Hilton Cup glider racing series from there! Let us glider pilots know when you plan to fly there, we'll come join you :)
Hi Trent, I’ve been following your channel for over two years now and, as a 15 year old all the way from New Zealand, your videos are so inspirational, the cinematography is amazing and love to watch all your adventures in the backcountry. Hoping to start my PPL soon!
You’re getting pretty dang good with that fly rod Trent! Many don’t realize the finesse it takes with light fly tackle to manipulate the line and get it right where you want it as if a bug just landed on the water not to mention landing a nice fish. You make it look as easy as Square Space! 😂 Good times Bro!!! 🤠👍
Trent, that new section of the river is wayyy too low and warm for trout to iive/survive. You want to stay within about ~10miles down river from the Nevada border.. below that it gets too warm. Might catch some bass that low..
It’s my understanding that, historically, the lower sections of the EW have never fished well. Nothing really worthwhile downstream of The Elbow. BTW, about a month ago I fished the Nevada stream to which you’ve both flown and drove. Only one to hand but totally worth the LONG round trip from Reno. Thank you, sir!
That first section was tenkara territory! They break down so easily you can walk through the bushes no problem. River was a little wide for Tenkara but it's a tradeoff....
Mind clearing those shrubs for me? so I can bring a 150 up that doesn’t have any bush wheels, I need to fly fish that place and flying in would make it epic
Hey bud! Great video! I think you should get a spinning rod and go find some Pike! There should be some good fish around there! Love the music in the videos too. Makes my teeny vids look very 1st grade lol :D Great work!
I used to know someone, never flew with him,but he had a float plane , he'd hop 3 lakes , had a trolling motor on a float and fished all day. Sometimes there was light ice on the lakes, ...
Hypothetical.. If a pickup with people in it was parked next to that old airstrip & you decided it was too rough to land after flying near that pickup, would the FAA object?
Trent - question for you on sti wing vs the SS wing!! If you had the SS wing, would that additional landing/take off distance keep you out of any of your spots you like to fly to?
On this trip I was using a 10ft 5wt Moonshine vesper with the SA Amplitude Infinity line, it was overkill for the fish we got into but it’s a pretty versatile setup
Everything is overgrown this year. You were in my back yard. I live in Yerington. I hope they don't turn this into another state park. Yikes. They sure know how to ruin a good place.
Catch and release fishing. Some people go fishing for the enjoyment or adventure not to catch food. Also some wild trout streams cannot sustain catch and keep so they are catch and release.
The govt owning land is NOT a good thing, wait and see............According to the constitution the govt is NOT supposed to own vast quantities of land!!!!! But all this "public access" people like you think is great will eventually lead to locked up and locked down, mark my words!!!! Have a nice day, yuppy!!!!
Just tip when going through brush with a fly rod. Put the reel in your hand and let the rod and tip trail behind you. Doesn’t totally solve the problem but helps a lot. Good video!
Yep, nothing worse than pile breaking your rod on the way to the water.
The difference is astonishing. I came here to say this.
Came here to say the same!
I do that as well but you aren’t able to watch the tip and I end up hooking the line around more branches than if I just aim the tip and go for it
Better to hook the tip than break it.@@TrentonPalmer

02:26 “He had like 4000 sheep.” “Holy cow”
"holy sheep"

Your set up/home-hangar-location is so impressive - Congrats on your homestead
Your casting is looking really nice!
I have never fly fished before, but for some reason your Bush flying/fly fishing videos are my favorite!

I really love seeing your flying videos. It makes me look forward to when I'm old enough to get my pilot's license
You mean your temp is "in the green." Over min, under max. It's all in the adventure! Until dinner time, and then it's about food.
Thanks for the ride!
bead head woolly buggers and muddler minnows. just saying
when walking thru brush, carry the rod backwards with the tip behind you
great video as always. love everything about it. the music the scenic shots and just watching you guy catch fish. thanks for the entertainment
Flying M is a very popular glider location! They used to run the Hilton Cup glider racing series from there! Let us glider pilots know when you plan to fly there, we'll come join you :)
Trent, this was a gorgeous video on so many levels. Great work.
Thanks again Trent for another really good video.
Nice. What a nice edit Trent. Outstanding
Good morning from Minnesota! Great episode!
Love these bush plane fishing videos.
Thanks Trent

man.. what a blast that would be.. would love to be able to wake ujp and jump in my plane n go fishing.. keep the great content coming good sir!
DUDE!! This ROCKS! Thanks for sharing. Thank you for taking those of us like me who can't fly due to health troubles. ( Blind ) God Bless..
I enjoy all your fly in video’s.😊😊😊

Flying AND fly fishing! This is heaven! So glad I dropped in again!
Great adventure

Nice job picking up those fish along the foam line across the fast current. That is a tough drift!
Nice adventure, your hanger is amazing.
Im happy to hear this. It should really help ease pressure in the winter.
Trent, you need to install runway lights now so you don't have to chase the sun home.
It’s my understanding that, historically, the lower sections of the EW have never fished well. Nothing really worthwhile downstream of The Elbow. Cool video. I looked it up on the map. There's a spot that says " east walker fly fishing hole". Looks like it used to be advertised.
Flyin and fishin what more could you ask for in good weather too nice one boys crack on
And your card reads, "Flying Fishing 'n Professional Videos?"
😂😂😂👍♥️🇺🇸
Beautiful day with a good friend. But, for me, fishing means eating the fish.
Another great adventure Trent really liking your videos mate 😎😎🇦🇺🇦🇺
Have you done any Steelhead fishing? Fly to Andy McBeth airport in late September and walk to 2 great steelhead runs
Those Hangar lights look more amazing every video. Are you still happy with them, and recommend, or are there unseen downsides?

Very nice well put together video 👏
I used to know someone, never flew with him,but he had a float plane , he'd hop 3 lakes , had a trolling motor on a float and fished all day. Sometimes there was light ice on the lakes, ...
Trent, where can I get the decal you have showing the Fox holding the Teddy Bear? It would make a great baseball cap and airplane/auto decal.
The video had 16+ minutes long for run time. It ended so fast.Time Flys so fast when you are having fun. Happy subscriber 😊!
Oh, also, i'd have charred a few of them straight away as it's a delicious fish to eat!
Man, your STi looks amazing in this video.
Those hangar lights are amazing 👀🍻
Your plane is so cool! 😎
Trent is becoming quite the FLy FIsherman
Hypothetical.. If a pickup with people in it was parked next to that old airstrip & you decided it was too rough to land after flying near that pickup, would the FAA object?
Dang, Trent! For a guy who never fly fished 2 years ago, you sure are living the good life now!
I think you are HOOKED!🤣 Pun intended!
Trent - question for you on sti wing vs the SS wing!!
If you had the SS wing, would that additional landing/take off distance keep you out of any of your spots you like to fly to?
Exelente video, obrigado por compartilhar, abraço daqui do Brasil.
Love the bush plane fly fishing videos. What do you use for a fly rod set up?
On this trip I was using a 10ft 5wt Moonshine vesper with the SA Amplitude Infinity line, it was overkill for the fish we got into but it’s a pretty versatile setup

Hi Trent, another viewer from HONDURAS.
4:00. How dare you make a low inspection pass before landing. Tisk tisk.
6:20. Then you encourage others to do the same!?
Nah. Just land and flip your plane. Clearly safer.
Are there enough fish for a shore lunch?
Have you tried TroutRoutes yet? Great video! 🎣
Greetings! Tell me, if possible, the point of the built garage - I want to fly in this place in msfs 2020! Thank you!
Really enjoy your videos, but do you ever keep and eat the fish you catch?
I love your videos for years now Trent. How often do you use to fly in a week or month?
Love it! That lighting is badass! Can you change the color?
Yes, they can
Quite the difference in your flyfishing skills from a few years back and you first tried it.
you have to get beki back out and take her and chris to this spot. trent, chris beki, hailstorm afternoon picnic.
Are you going to highsiera this year?
Can you legally make a low pass to check out a landing spot now? Asking for a friend.😉
As long as you're at least 500' away from any person, vessel, or structure on the surface.
Thanks.@@DanasWings
why are you releasing the fish back? what is the point?
Catch and release fishing. Some people go fishing for the enjoyment or adventure not to catch food. Also some wild trout streams cannot sustain catch and keep so they are catch and release.
Trent what is on the roof of your hangar?
I don’t fish or fly or fly fish anymore but good video
Catch and release? Do a catch and cook. Poking holes in fish mouth and letting go is mean. Catch and cook. Eat what you Catch.
Nice.
Sweet ass Hanger Trent !
Real flyfishers use barbless hooks... then, there is no need to handle the fish.😎 Always enjoy your videos!
"should have COME here in the first place".
Did you get your ppl or just light sport?
His ppl
How come I never see you bring any fish home? They are food you know...
Many places are “catch and release”, especially with dwindling natural fish numbers. It’s all in the catch, not the kill.
Irony.. @@blueman5924
My grandpa used to run the sheep there.
Fun Fun....
Some plastic drain pipe would be a start fixing that full length airstrip. I wonder what BLM's opinion is.
Bro that's 100% mountain lion tracks.
Yep. Bear tracks have claw marks. Lion’s retract their claws, so no claw marks. Definitely a mountain lion. Agreed.
Ты поймал форель и не приготовил. Чувак, что с тобой?
The govt owning land is NOT a good thing, wait and see............According to the constitution the govt is NOT supposed to own vast quantities of land!!!!! But all this "public access" people like you think is great will eventually lead to locked up and locked down, mark my words!!!! Have a nice day, yuppy!!!!
Well the other option - private ownership - means the public DEFINITELY won't have access.
Do you have TPMS on your main tires?
