Best one yet...... Love the creativity, and it was well balanced between life and narrative, good use of music too.

Hey Damo, I love the idea of the daily VLOGs. Totally something I'll watch! I find your story and and career fascinating. Glad you did a video that's a bit more about that.
The only tip I would give you is to hire someone edit them. This really struck me on this one, for some reason.
I believe what you're trying to do is more something like Casey Steitat's format, quick, straight to the point, slightly raw. (I might be wrong) Which is great, I also like his stuff, and it's a format that works for a lot of people. But I still think you should get someone with a bit of experience in video editing, to keep the pace of the video together with you and your natural pace.
Also, this would probably save you lots of time!
Hope this helps! Keep it up!🤘🤘

Thanks for the feedback, I agree I think a big problem is the inexperience of the camera angles in order to edit.. so i am emersing myself in some youtube vlogs so I can learn more..I'd love more feedback as you see some more :)

If you want to carry on doing it yourself, it'll definitely come with time. If you use softwares such as Final Cut Pro or even iMovie (yes I know haha) it can be fairly straightforwardly. Just drag & drop and export haha.
The main thing is, I'm here for the content and the things I'm learning with you, that I believe I can apply to my own businesses. So if you decide that a 5 year-old will edit your VLOGs, I'll still watch 'em!
      François
PS: Quick tip! Some vloggers I watch (I'm thinking about P. McKinnon and TravelFeels in particular) use auto-focusing lenses on their vlogging cameras. So it doesn't matter how far or close you get from it, it'll automatically focus on you and your face. Just a quick thought!

Currently a journo student, I have recently started my own artist management company & I want to make sure my business is legit however im unsure what license I need for my business itself. I want a entertainment company that would house my artist management, my radio show, & youtube channel.

#60minwin skype chat - great stuff Damo, I def agree, I'm at the same point with my youtube videos, I don't want to just start playing a song, then cut; I want to do a little bit of talking to the camera, to get my personality across.
Feedback wise, I'd say make the edit more snappy and general length shorter; maybe even half the length - I was a big fan of the first section of the vlog, I didn't feel the second half was as engaging; maybe because the edit felt a little tighter at the start and it felt slightly through the middle/end it kind of went off subject a little (only basing it off of the video title).
BUT!...What do I know, just an opinion and random feedback - keep it up mate :)

My goodness, so much fluff. I had to put it on fast play mode....to get to the meat skip to 7:11 but in reality there were no tips, just a vlog.

Your videos have always had a personal style, which I like, and I can see you are working on bringing a story line and some life into them. But please don´t start repeating yourself like all these other vloggers. It´s just annoying. I guess a lot of stuff is worth repeating but why not sort your videos with better titles instead. I got tired of Vaynerchuk, Neistat and Dietschy a long time ago because they keep repeating themselves, especially Gary V. After a while it just looks cynical to re-use every bit of footage.

    • @DamianKeyes
      @DamianKeyes  7 років тому

      Hey Tomas,
That's really interesting I love Casey because every day is different and has a story or purpose however I agree about Gary V it feels like it's the same vlog each day on UA-cam but his facebook and instagram has turned into an GV advertising platform.
If you wouldn't mind giving me some feedback as I try and make this jump into a more vlog style approach. I'd like to keep the story moral and advice but at the same time more of a story and theme to each video.
      Any feedback is defo welcome!
      Damo :)
