Actually I use iMovie for making vids.... which is basically the Mac version of Windows Movie Maker XD But hey, thanks for the shout out. Man, I miss those old days of youtube, especially when UA-cam Channels had more creative backgrounds rather than being stuck with that small letter box thing. Loved Cute Mario Bros, really sad that they're ending the series. My first introduction was the Meet Jack Skellington episode, and those guys were the main reason why I made my UA-cam account and started off doing my own plush toy series known as Action Mario and Luigi Plush, which I later stopped making. I did make an episode of Forgotten Media talking about some of the lost CMB spin offs like Super Spy Luigi, made that as a tribute to the series' 10th Anniversary. Nowadays I've had some plans of making my own retrospective on the Cute Mario Bros, and maybe I'll even bring back Action Mario and Luigi Plush for the occasion, just for a short mini episode.
@@Tree_e888 Yes, Imma that guy. heh that Out of Jimmy's Head was one of the hardest episodes to work on for FM, mostly because I barely had any material to work with back then.
Man, getting such a nostalgia trip with some of those clips you showed like meltingman234, anderstmnt, sonic toast, and flash animations. This is so good, awesome video.
Ah, the good old days. Cute Mario bros, video game bloopers, pokemon spoofs, old animations. (Perfect kirby anyone?) I do miss that era. I don't think it can ever come back in the same way. But what I miss about it is just how, genuine it all was. It wasn't made for profit or fame. Just for fun.
COPPA technically didn't really do anything wrong. UA-cam was breaking the law stealing data from minors and COPPA was telling them to knock that shit off. UA-cam decided to change its rules instead of just removing UA-cam Kids entirely.
Great video; I really do miss the old days of UA-cam. I recall discovering the site when it was fresh in 2006 and it had not hit mainstream quite yet. My favorites from the classic era (2005-2010) had to be stuff like WMM AMV's, early 3D animation, Lego stop motion, the memes of the time and plush movies. With SML, I just remember watching his stuff when it was brand new. I recall a period of time in 2010 when he went on some hiatus and there was barely any uploads, which led me to believe he was low-key getting tired of making plush videos. Once 2012 hit, I stopped watching his content all-together. I was surprised to find years later that not only was his channel still running, but that he was more popular than ever with the random character Jeffy. Out of morbid curiosity I watched one of the new videos and it felt very aimed toward today's kids, so obviously I just haven't bothered much with any Jeffy era stuff; it's not for me. It's neat that Logan has managed to make a living off of it, I am proud of him for that. Plush movies were uniquely a thing of the past that have been overshadowed by today's kids having access to all these elaborate editing tools as opposed to what we had growing up. The climate of how UA-cam evolved also plays into it, which is a damn shame. There will never, ever be a time like the later half of the 2000's ever again.
No it was still a shithole like it is today because you had weird autistic people putting themselves out there in creepy mannerisms with shit like Thomas the tank engine crossing over with Bratz and Winx or Trainboy 54's adventures of Phineas and Ferb, or Chris Chan talking about Sonichu or whatever. They still exist on this website today, more of them looking like they belong in a freak show. The only difference between then and now is that the weird shit didn't get monetized like it does now.
Sonicsong182 is probably the plushtuber i have most nostalgia for. Seeing them come back after a near 6 year hiatus was incredibly surreal. I don't care for their newer stuff but they still hold a special place in my heart.
My absolute favorite content as a kid..was watching LPS videos. There was some very cheesy drama series made by this chick named Sophie...and some were very good comedy.. Like a child (kitten) beating up the robber at Mcdonald over some Apple Dippers while in the background plays everyone was kung fu fighting... Oh yes.. The older days of youtube was wack
Does anyone else remember A Dinosaur Story? It was a movie in 25 parts where it revolves around a group of dinosaurs going on a Land Before Time esque adventure where a bunch of crazy and ridiculous shit happens and it was all done with toys by two brothers, on Windows Movie Maker I think, and a whole bunch of copyrighted music. It's definitely one of the older videos on the site that's still has the same charm as old SML except it's a straight up Lord of the Rings length movie.

Your tangent about full cartoon episodes on UA-cam reminded me - back when I was about 6 around 2012, I watched a video that claimed to be a leaked pilot of a Rugrats reboot, yet it was just a full episode of the original Rugrats (if I remember correctly, it was that one where Tommy tries to escape from daycare) except with a Windows Movie Maker filter. Ahhhh yes... The virgin SML vs. the chad Cute Mario Bros. CMB took up a good chunk of my original UA-cam experience in the late 2000s & early 10s. Like you mentioned, It was one of the main things that inspired little me to try & collect toys of Nintendo characters to form my own, unofficial "Smash Bros." collection (which I still kinda do today), & yes, pretend to make comedy movies out of without any kind of camera. At one point, me & my little cousin even made up our own series by bringing our toys whenever we'd visit each other at my granny's house, we called it "Woody, Mario & Spidey". Just, just the good ol' days, man...
I’m probably one of the few people of the current generation who grew up with UA-cam during this era, my dad taught me how to use the computer at the age of 2-3.
when i was young, me and my sisters used LOVE watching LPS vids! LPS stands for Littlest Pet shop, and they were little plastic bobble headed animals made by hasbro. The basics of the videos were just playing with them, and making little shorts and series with them! The very first LPS accounts i loved was ILoveLPS LPSlover, and LPSfun. IloveLPS made a short called LPS: Hair Salon (dang, just typing that sentence made me so nostalgic.) Me and my sisters also watched a INCREDIBLY funny video called LPS school, because it was just two girls improving their lines and using LPS and one tiny Hello Kitty figure. We laughed SO hard back then because the Hello Kitty teacher Mrs, Buttercup, would speak in a nasally voice and shout DETENTION! at the students for no reason! I miss the 2000s era of youtube so much 😢💖
8:36 This Is One Of The Reasons Why I Try To Collect Angry Birds Plushies They Sort Of take me back to the Golden Days Of the franchise Like Angry Birds Space, Bad Piggies, And Angry Birds Star Wars.
I used to make plush videos sometimes but I don't do them as much now in favor for reviews and stuff, SML used to be much better back in the day but ever since Jeffy arrived it started going downhill and hasn't been getting better, with the exception of the newer SML videos a lot of plush videos that I've watched seem to have an amateurish feel of them, I guess that's to be expected because it's usually a couple of people who play with their stuffed animals and recorded it on a phone or something. There are a few that are still good but for the most part all the most popular ones such as SML and cute Mario Bros went out sad.
I remember using old UA-cam for just more content of the stuff I grew up with, plushies of Mario and other games and sonic toast collection videos and cute Mario bros plushie videos. 2007-2012 was the golden age of SML. 2013 when it started to get a little repetitive when Jr became a mainstay and Logan pushed the other characters to the side. 2016 was the nail in the coffin when Jeffy came in and the hoard of Jeffy fans invaded the channel and attacking anyone who hated Jeffy like GameCubeDude for example. When that incident happened I lost all respect for SML, I know it was Lovell but it doesn’t change the fact that Logan was pleasing the hoard of Jeffy fans.
@@JonathanGaeta I attacked multiple fans of Jeffy during that time for that reason alone, saying that they were fetuses and other kinds of nasty shit because that's how mad they were making me and a whole majority of people as well. I mean I still don't hesitate to slander them, but that level of anger and distain I had for them at that time was not very healthy and it made me look like the bad guy.
@@buzzytrombone4353 I see where you are coming from. I had the same incident on Twitter and I’ve left and quit that website because it’s filled with toxicity. The reason I left because of a Space Jam clip that was posted on Cartoon Network’s Twitter, and the clip that was shown was Porky Pig rapping, I expressed my opinion and I got called out, the reason because I never say the first Space Jam and that Bugs Bunny rapped, if he did it’s fine since it was the 90’s, but this is 2021 the 90’s are long gone and rapping has changed drastically, Porky Pig rapping is a bit too much and I’m glad Chuck Jones isn’t alive to see this. I was fighting left and right against these users but it was no use, it felt like I can’t win against anyone on Twitter and you can’t convince anybody to change their minds, also it’s very negative for me mentally and I’m turning into someone I shouldn’t be and follow that path, I’m taking therapy as so much has happened in my life personally which I’m not getting into, because of all that I just quit and all the Twitter users that I fought glad I left and didn’t care for my mental health, and guess what, that’s fine because it’s my life and they won’t prevent me from living my life.

Logan should've moved on from UA-cam after his operation because he would've saved himself from a lot of the stupid shit that happened in 2017 and 2018. I mean he clearly shot himself in the foot when he started over doing it constantly. Ricky and Tyler with CMB only did their videos when they felt like doing them and that was enough for them because they were having fun while making them, and if they go out with a big bang with like Summer Fun 4 or something, then that will be enough to show their audience that they were having fun doing the videos.

Logan should've moved on from UA-cam after his operation because he would've saved himself from a lot of the stupid shit that happened in 2017 and 2018. I mean he clearly shot himself in the foot when he started over doing it constantly. Ricky and Tyler with CMB only did their videos when they felt like doing them and that was enough for them because they were having fun while making them, and if they go out with a big bang with like Summer Fun 4 or something, then that will be enough to show their audience that they were having fun doing the videos.
bro im 12 and i think older youtube is better
Edit 1 month later: I wanna just let anyone who sees this know that I'm now 13 idk why I just feel like y'all should know lol
