😊 I listened to this ASMR video(pencil on paper) while making a work presentation 😂, will watch it again this weekend to color my kitty! Love the finished piece.
Great video. The info and explainations you gave were awesome! I skipped so many color alongs in the beginning thinking I need the exact pencils they were using. I also liked the info on when and why to use the different blender pencils. Thanks for sharing!!
I dont ever want you to think you need to go buy every pencil I am using....remember, every set has a yellow...a green...a dark green....etc. Just get as close as you can and HAVE FUN!
Beautiful!! This was a brilliant tutorial!! Thank you for the freebie. I can't wait to colour along. I especially loved the before and after stills. Such a great way to explain the difference in depth.
Thank you for being the first to mention that. That little "inside look" took me WAY longer to add then you would think...so I am SO glad you appreciated it. It's just so easy to overlook the before and after, when you are watching in real time. So, I thought actually showing you what you JUST watched would resonate with a few of you.... clearly YOU being one of them! 🥰
@@sugahsweetart you're welcome. It was a skill mum told me in highschool when I started drawing portraits and doing a lot of art really in lead. She always says to make the darks darker than you think and the lights as bright as you can. Step back a few metres and look at the art as a whole.
As a beginner colorist, I have really enjoyed your color alongs. I watch the whole things at night on my big screen TV w/ a big cup of Sleepytime Extra and never find them boring. Since I enjoy your videos I decided to buy Desserted Cats today and look forward to coloring in it. P.S. My dog Lillie Belle wanted me to tell you that she thinks Shih Tzus would be more fun to color than pesky cats but I think she is biased.
haha, it sounds like a dog who speaks her mind....even if she is biased! Im so glad you enjoy my videos AND it's always a plus to be viewed on the big screen!!! So that you for watching it on tv where you can really enjoy it. Also, thank you for purchasing my book, I really hope you enjoy it as well!!!!
Thank you for the freebie and the colour along. Any time you do colour alongs I will definitely be here for it. You are great at explaining stuff and very chill 😌 like not worrying about exact colour numbers is a cool thing to add (I see so many people on fb stress about exact colour matching) and never boring.... I quite appreciate your sense of humour 😁 Really appreciate the blender info.I love blending!! So much so that I bought everything when I first started colouring. Blender pens, blender pencils, that citrus oil stuff, blending stumps ....even Vaseline and baby oil 😂😂 straight away I was using the wrong blender and using it aggressively for sure coz that's just how I roll lol and was so disappointed immediately because it just pushed the colour away or made it disappear like you just showed us. Now I can pull all my blender pencils out and know what I'm doing and enjoy blending again 👍😂 I love the asmr sounds of pencils like most others but ironically that powder blue was the worst sounding scratchy nails on the chalkboard pencil I've ever heard lol 🥴 that's cool though coz the knowledge you shared definitely was worth hearing a bit of scratchy. Thank you Daniel son for the silent wax on wax 🤫 goodness you have shared with us on this day. I will be colouring and blending happily now I know the way. Hey that rhymed 😂 sorry I'll see myself out 😳😆
YOU DIDNT LIKE THE POWERD BLUE SOUND?!?!? BLASPHAMY!!!! haha I think that was the sound I enjoyed most. But as long as you liked the wax on wax....all is forgiven 😆 I hope you come back to actually color along with me on this one...Id love to see how your picture turns out!!!
Thank you so much, Ellie! Im really happy you got something out of this one. I look forward to creating another as well...now that I know you like them 😉 I hope you have fun coloring along with me!
Thank you for doing these color-alongs. When I looked into adult coloring a few years ago I was like "whoah, this isn't what I remember as coloring." And was completely lost. Impressed and lost. I have a background in painting and sketching so the concepts of shading and contouring are not foreign to me but the technique of doing it in colored pencils sort of is. I'm impressed with your elegant coloring style and your concise explanations, so these color-along videos are very helpful. And thank you for the download.
Im so glad you got something out of my effort! I love it! And it sounded like you watched the whole thig, that really does mean a lot to me. The hardest part for me is always, "am I talking too much or not enough?" I don't want to sound like some sort of stuffy teacher....booooring. so I am trying to have fun but that's not always easy while spewing out information haha
Thank you, Michelle!!! I have in my list to do a blender exclusive video! I think it would help a lot of people to let them see what it took me years to catch onto haha I'm so glad you enjoyed my video and I am very glad to know you'll be back!!!
I learned so much watching this video! Thank you for the great explanations and I think my fruit slices will look better with what you demonstrated! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great vid! The "Porous, smooth. Porous, smooth" made me think of Homer pulling on the pig's tail: "curly, straight. Curly, straight.." [Then the pig bites him.]
This was a very informative & entertaining video. I love to watch colorists who do very complex pictures, but they usually don’t share half the information you do. The info on using different blenders was very informative. I may have misse it,but can you share the name of the one you referred to as “aggressive?” I have several blenders & I’ve struggled a bit with which blender to use in different situations. Thanks so much for this picture & video.
Stick with me....Ill get you right where you want to be! 🥰 I plan on doing a video specifically on blenders and where they "should" be used. But its just taking me a little time to prep for that video...its a lot of work haha In the "aggressive" category, the top two leaders are... 1st Kalour 2nd Derwent. Derwent is a very close second. they are very similar in feel but the chalkiness of Kalour makes it a touch more aggressive. I hope that helps. I know my art probably isn't quate as detailed as you like, so I appreciate you for joining me and for the comment! Hope you come back for more later!!!
That shows the price jump when a company has to add labels, name, & colors to each pencil. Those costs add up fast! But I can honestly say, I would spend the extra money for a set for them to add those organization numbers! Anything to make my life easier! haha 😇
