We definitely need more of these camera kits. Its natural and logicak progression for these cameras.
That 67mm adapter ring pretty much sold me. Even with dual aperture, there's so much things you can do with CPL and ND filters. We really should see more of it in other camera-focused flagship phones.
It's just so darn handy, and now I NEED to see Sony and Vivo on board too.
My knowledge of lenses, camera settings and functions I know little about, just really starting to get into photography now and I've purchased the 13 ultra, can you advise what these filters and lenses do? Do they give more zoom or ultrawide, or is this more about the colours .
Thanks
Gary
@@gt5845 ND filters are basically sunglasses for your camera. Its for when you can't achieve your desired exposure using on-board camera settings alone (iso, white balance, aperture, shutter speed etc.).
CPL filters are polarising filters that adjust how reflections show up (like with polarised sunglasses).
You can't really use converters which adjust the focal length (zoom etc.) despite having a threaded adapter because your lenses aren't centred, so any converters will just distort the image horribly instead.
You do also have coloured filters but you really don't need them for digital cameras where you can let the software sort it out.
This actually shows that Xiaomi wants you to use their camera phone like an actual camera, and not just a texts and calls device! 😆
Now I don't feel so bad about having a dedicated device for photos and videos. I should have waited for the ultra tho....
I like Xiaomi's innovations. Being able to mount filters is a great idea. Brings a new level of opportunities in smartphone photography. This reminded me the idea of removing IR and UV filters in front of the sensors, making it sensitive to a broader range of light spectrum, a service that is usually offered for DSLR and mirrorless cameras by companies like Kolarivision and LifePixel in the US. You can basically convert your camera into an IR or a UV camera. I wonder if Xiaomi can do it in smartphone photography as well. Is it possible to add the filter layer that blocks UV and IR light on the top glass that covers the lenses and not to the sensor ? And the top glass should be removable, for letting in any kind of filter you want to use, visible, UV, IR.
We pre Jurassic nerds LOVE some specific accessories, it's envy that I feel right now 😂
It looks like a modernized Nokia Lumia 1020. I still miss that phone's Camera Grip accessory.
Yeah. It's giving me some serious nostalgia...
I still have one somewhere, but didn't the grip for the Nokia 1020 incorporate an additional battery?
@@terrym540 Yes, that is correct. The Lumia 1020 Camera Grip has additional battery that can be charged standalone.
@@FAT8893 Thanks for confirming.
I still use the 1020 for photography.
@@terrym540 It's still a great camera phone in 2023. I still love its realisitic colour and details.
This is very cool. Thankfully Freewell does a case, grip and filter kit for my S23 Ultra, but I haven't picked it up yet. Tempting!
Such a sick looking rig! Though they should normalize putting built in shutter button for phones
That's what I love about Sony for still keeping the dedicated shutter button.
Dude, you literally have the best content! Additionally, this phone is 🔥🔥
That's bad ass equipment for a phone Juan👊👊👊👍
Now that is such a nice kit!!!! (though I still think a phone like this should have DAC 3.5 and MicroSD and build in shutter button....)
No arguments from me there!
@@SomeGadgetGuy I doubt SONY would go this route, as it would cannibalise their Mirrorless Camera market. It's ripe for the likes of MiGroup or BBK or even Huawei to differentiate themselves from Samsung and Apple.
I still think the best smartphone camera is the iPhone, objectively speaking. None of the other devices come close to its performance when it comes to Point'n'Shoot. Sony in particular is pretty bad. Sony may theoretically have a better camera system, but it's pointless (pun intended) if it takes you 5 mins to align the shot perfectly, and even longer if you edit the photos and RAW files later. What you want in a smartphone is the best quality at a moment's notice: hence iPhone. If you get the luxury of using accessories, bulky kits, lighting, timing, and editing.... well, then the Sony ends up being a poor camera still, because you would be MUCH better served using a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera instead. Sometimes Less is More, and sometimes More is More; it falls on the wisdom of the engineers to know which compromises to make when crafting a device to hit a certain experience. With that said, my next device might be the Sony Xperia 5 mk 6, just to illustrate that I'm no fanboy. And I consider the best (Android) phone that money can buy right now is the Samsung xCover 6 Pro (2022 level flagship processor, 2019 level flagship camera, 2023 flagship level screen BUT it's got 5+ Years Support, Durable Construction, User Removable Battery, and Modularity for easy refurbishment), the only catch is that you can't buy it directly, it is a phone made for Fleet Purposes, Big Businesses, and actual on-field Working People.
That grip is the thing to come out. I used an Ulanzi grip and although it's fine, the main issue is the bulk. This grip for Xiaomi solved both those issues and still have some great grip for the phone. Definitely worth it. Too bad it's limited.
I changed from Samsung last year and bought the 11 T Pro and the camera is really capable, in fact everthing about it is top quality. As a photographer I may upgrade to this next year as the accessories kit will make it inconspicuous and very usable.
Can i attach some lenses like fisheye on this 67mm filter? Also can i attach this filter on old/classic case?
IMMEDIATE Flashbacks to my Nokia Lumia 1020 with the grip case!!!
Crazy how few other companies have really tried a similar first party photo accessory like this.
@@SomeGadgetGuy it's a better compromise than when Samsung released that phone that WAS a point and shoot camera that happened to have a phone attached 😅 The S4 Zoom
LOL I have that on my shelf still. It's CRAZY to me that the telephoto sensors on the Xiaomi are roughly the same size as the MAIN camera on the S4 Zoom. 🤯
I wonder how are the low light video recording compared to the xperia 1V with a smaller sensor but with 2 layer transistors. I'm guessing the pure size of the sensor still wins out against the new tech that sony is putting out.
This is so cool!
Really hope this is a success so much that we see a gen 2 product because I always stay away from 1st gens.
Step by step. The Mi 11 Ultra was the first gen "crazy phone camera" experiment.
Wow its great I like it.
Yeaah finally great accessories for photography
This one's real tasty 😁
@@SomeGadgetGuy Damn now i want to buy this phone
God Dame...... that pola sold me this cam. Can u share the link for the lens? thanks
Gear Envy increasing. This is one of the few new phones that I would sell my current kit for.
Very nice indeed :-) It kinda reminds of me Samsung Galaxy Camera EK-GC100.
I remembered that Android camera. That 21x optical zoom is beyond crazy.
Can you please share a link in here so I can buy this thing
Bom dia. Onde pode comprar Xiaomi 13 Ultra Professional Photography Kit?
Cracked my screen already (( after only 3 weeks. So I'm looking for a good phone case after replacing the screen. Does this one cover the sides really well? Are the edges raised for drop protection at all angles?
Also i would love to know which other videos are shot with the 13 ultra. I'm not always producing good results and not always sure why. It's not as straight forward as the Google Pixel.
No protection at all. The sides are scooped slightly for better access to the screen. This phone REALLY should have a flat screen.
with the rise of social media and content creation thru out the years. we will see a lot of these phone design in the future. two notable smartphone i just look at now this xiomi with leica lens snd nubia with sony lens. i wonder how kodak and nikon will be collab with maybe olmypus and other lens manufacturer
Great video, Xiaomi looked at the Nokia 1020 and thought how can we make this better phone .
I'm all in favor of turning a phone into a separate device, but I just wonder about the target audience for the photography kit. Is it for serious photographers? But serious photographers will already have a DSLR professional cameras. Casual photo takers will find the pic quality from most phones acceptable. So, the kit is targeted for people in between casual and serious photographers?
Only LG (MAYBE Motorola too) would have been bold enough to follow suit. Fantastic this is!
I've been BEGGING Sony and Vivo to do this.
@@SomeGadgetGuy surely someone is listening
Now that's something else entirely cool
It's real nifty. 😁
The lumia 1020 also did something similar.
thank you for the help. I comment to your other video about how to connect the 67mm ring and you suggest me this link
I got all set up .
Mine is white color :D
I never clicked a video so fast when I spot mobile filmmaking gear🔥🔥
I might need to dig into your pockets a little harder...
@@SomeGadgetGuy LOL, I'm just as bad as Eazy when it comes to gear. Especially smartphone filmmaking gear!
I was so close to pulling the trigger on the Xperia 1 V but this brings some of the Xperia advantages like the shutter button and additional capability in filters to a 1" sensors. Xperia has accessories too but far more expensive and focused on making the phone into a vlogging setup rather than a kick ass photography setup on a phone.
Such a tough choice between high end photography phones these days.
Would love a video of yours thoughts between the high end camera phones.
Stay tuned. 😊
@@SomeGadgetGuy already pulled the trigger on Xperia 1V. I compared them and got this one but definitely wanna know your opinion. When is the video coming out ? And thanks in advance. I have been waiting for so long for such a video but I really needed an upgrade so already did it.
Also does Xiaomi give out their global ROM on their site or somewhere. I did that with OnePlus once, bought the Chinese version but flashed the global ROM in it (they give it on their site). I haven't found it for Xiaomi though.
That is a really nice idea! Too bad that no one else offers anything similar.
I've been BEGGING Sony and Vivo LOL. BEGGING.
@@SomeGadgetGuy Perhaps they will listen in the near future! Hope springs eternal! 🤣
Samsung needs an updated S4 Zoom like now. Did you ever use any of the moment lens kits? Good stuff as always.
THIS! Optical zoom is still way better than digital hybrid zoom.
Especially since the telephoto sensors on the Xiaomi are ABOUT the same size as the main sensor on the K Zoom...
Still waiting for a phone to come out with a built in ND filter like the og 808 pure view.
Want so bad...
Still a great phone, that Nokia. If only Microsoft and Nokia made a new one with latest camera sensor tech and latest SoC.
I've been saying that Sony should have something like this for years now, but for DSLRs. Imagine buying a Sony Xperia which you can slot onto an Alpha-like DSLR Frame. A thousand dollars for a phone suddenly becomes justifiable even if you're not much of a power user.
But I think they're also wary about cannibalizing their Alpha line so there's that. But maybe if they want to streamline production in the future, maybe they could start designing their Alphas with a detachable viewfinder? That could pave the way for a slotting mechanism for your Xperia phone which you can now use as a sort-of upgraded camera controller and viewfinder. They can also start some sort of camera ecosystem where they sell camera and video editing software which takes advantage of the organic nature of their product line. (Hate the last suggestion, by the way as ecosystems have a tendency of being proprietary, but maybe that encourages Sony towards that path).
I've been begging Sony for this since the first Xperia 1.
looks great. Sony should make something like this on their xperia pro line.
I've been begging them to do something like this since the original XPERIA 1.
How i buy it mobile
How much prise thish mobile can i buy poland same pis
The best thing the most Cutting Edge latest ...... Leica lenses and Technology.....
Unparalleled.
It's when you start using more LEICA cameras you realize that many of the pictures they are taken by most of the other are lacking in resolution ( most of it over-processed)
the floors are more obvious when you test them in the dark.
And the strength and benefits of Leica cameras are quite obvious when you use in the dark
@Sony are you watching and listening?! Create a case that accomodates filter and other accessories please😂
I've been BEGGING them since the first Xperia 1.
@@SomeGadgetGuy its THE real camera phone without the accessories for it to really release its kraken abilities 😅
Average customers will never buy an accessory like that for their 💲 1300 phones😆
Yes. All those AVERAGE folks out there spending $1400 on a phone who don't do anything on their phones...
😂
This has LG G5 and Motorola vibes
Taking it back to the Lumia 1020. I'm here for it.
Way more then I need but you'd have to be crazy to think this isn't cool.
Vivo have a footgear kit I purchased it on aliexpress
For which model
@@Fredricksaviour x90 pro plus
I see Xiaomi have been taking queues from Sony Xperia,
As I am watching this on my Sony Xperia Pro I, I instantly thought the exact same thing
@@XperiaforXplorers i WAS watching on my Xperia 1 III. Looking forward to the 1 V but its a pity they got rid of the purple option :( :(
@@theSFCchannel the purple is a beautiful color and personally I wish they kept those options for their devices.
Just do the unboxings and feed the algorithm
MUST CHURN CONSTANTLY TO APPEASE THE ALGORITHM!!!
Sony Xperia Pro I has just entered the chat
It's such a shame Sony won't actually deliver something like this as an accessory. I've been dying for something like this since going to a filmmaker workshop, where the host had 3D printed a case for the first Xperia 1.
@@SomeGadgetGuy I brought an attachment like this when I had my Xiaomi mi note 10 which I loved for pictures. This is my first go with Sony but I've been loving the built in set up but I would like a case I could attach a ND filter to.
Reminds me of my old Nokia 1020.
Yup! Xiaomi is the current spiritual successor to those classic Nokia days now.
Ok Apple it's your turn showing us new innovations!
LOL... Well they're rebranding Mixed Reality as "spatial computing", so...
At least you can pay for 4K60 unlike Chinese phones' front cameras 😂
I haven't seriously used the selfie camera for any photos or videos I really care about since the LG V30. The only thing front cameras are useful for are video calls. 😄
It's cool but pretty expensive... it should cost $100 at most
Posting video in 1080p not in 4k
UA-cam sucks these days. More and more, rather than hang out and deal with the awful comments here, I'm more inclined to deliver more content and perks to my Patreon. Funny how that works...
This wierd top down angle makes me dizzy
The only thing needed is a back display like the xperia. Becuz we all know that front camera is just straight up booty cheeks
I've gotten REAL good at shooting blind from the rear camera, but yeah, now that it has proper video out, a mini display would be rad.
@@SomeGadgetGuy Would be great if there's a mini display that can be attached at the back.
I want to buy from india
Sony is Sony👍
Can i attach some lenses like fisheye on this 67mm filter? Also can i attach this filter on old/classic case?
Not directly. A diopter works best from the middle of the lens, and phones put their lenses near the outer circle of the filter.
@@SomeGadgetGuy so i can't attach any other lenses on this adapter? So what are the pros?
