@@Bewefau Thank you, I'm very aware of this movie. However, this was a “Hollywood” production, and not based on reality.
Wargaming and AI. What would occur using current-day technologies?
It would be fascinating to witness a wargame simulation utilizing two or three equivalent AI systems with all relevant data made available to them.
I'm thinking along the lines of two to three (or even more?) different yet equally powerful AI systems, given read-only access to the WWW, a one-year settling time to acquire and process all relevant and accessible data, and then provide a date, or short window of time, for a declaration of hostilities.
      1. Assign one AI to each nuclear power, or nation directly involved in the hostilities (i.e. America, China, Russia, Great Britain, Israel, etc.).
      2. As an additional charter, require that they determine a winning solution that minimizes civilian casualties.
      3. Further, allow the differing AI’s to choose, and even form alliances, or negotiate.
Which system would win, and what would that end scenario look like? They could do several; one with nuclear weapons, one without, or even use biological deterrence. It would be very interesting I think, and I'd be willing to bet many first-world military powers are already doing this.

Its easier with older conflicts because we have a data pool of a lot of battles to simulate accurate encounters. We have seen what happens when 2000 men attack 800 entrenched men dozens of times through the 1700s so we can model that pretty well. Its harder and a bit more speculative with modern naval combat since all we have to go off is Falklands and operation Praying Mantis.

war games have always been used. they’re not used to accurately simulate battle. A war between the USA and China would involve intense naval, air, cyber, and space battles, with significant economic disruptions and global instability. Both nations would suffer heavy military and civilian losses, and the conflict would likely end in a stalemate due to mutually assured destruction and international diplomatic pressure. No clear victor would emerge, underscoring the need for diplomatic solutions to avoid such a catastrophic outcome.
