If you don’t want your files, follow this tutorial. No need to watch the whole video and waste your time. Just reinstall windows. If you want to get hold of old files, recover it from Microsoft account.

To anyone who who randomly had to provide an Bitocker key, but did not locked it by yourself, the last option 10:53 (removing everything manually and using a USB Flashdrive access it by downloading Windows 10) works! The thing is that you will lose everything, but you can still fix your computer on your own instead of sending it to the repair shop charging you the same result (empty but working PC).
i tried but its showing a "there was a problem resetting your PC" and i cant seem to get around it

when i try to reinstall windows using a usb and delete all it says it "cant find any drives" when I try to keep everything it says "you need to be logged in to do this"

ugh i get a new laptop with windows 11 in it, and it forces you to use a microsoft account, 1 week later windows 11 breaks and sends me to automatic repair, but windows cant be repaired because C: drive cant be accessed, and unfortunately none of these steps worked and microsoft wants me to wait 30 days to access the security mail.

Bruh this worked 😭🙏..first method..i was trying to get a bios update from Lenovo..it looked sus the way it came asking..like a pop up small yes-no window..I checked internet and i was convinced it was legitimate..but then as i proceeded some loading happened and boom this bitlocker window was there threatening no way back to my pc with all my precious files and works unless I entered the key which i couldn't find anywhere. for the recovery key go to your devices in Microsoft account using your phone or tablet , a recovery key will be there.

This shows BitLocker is unsafe because if someone forgets the recovery key and the original BitLocker password they have to go to a messy process which is time taking . So I luckily decrypted my C: drive before it is too late.

Yes, bootable drive. You can create bootable drive using Rufus. Put ISO image of the operating system.

4)search for security boot and turn it on

DONT WASTE 18 MINUTES WATCHING THIS!!! It comes down to this: Disable secure boot and if that does not work, boot from a USB and reinstall windows. Just delete all partitions. Get ready to also change your HDD partition from GPT to MBR or the other way around. This sometimes does happen.

in Most cases if it is the same computer all you have to do is restore bios to default facotry settings and it will usualy fix the issue.

If none of the options work, you can connect the bitlocked drive (in this video the e: drive) to your MAC COMPUTER as an external drive…this will make the contents of the drive visible and you can save the contents before you format the drive.

Secure boot was enabled on my laptop, so I disabled it. My device won't start now, I don't even get to the BIOS anymore. Any ideas what to do?
The one option I did was reformat the drive. Of course I lost whatever I had on the drive. Then did the reinstall. I then ran the backups I had. (thankfully)

just want to share my terrible experience. I had my maxtor 1T send to netherlands to recover data which only have 2 years life time then sudden death. Journey took 2 months. Yesterday i get my recovered data stored in a 2T seagate expansion+ but encrypted by bitlocker. the decryption process is hell long only 52% stuck, then i pause and shut down, next day it is unreadable and no way to format it. So bad seagate quality!
Is the microsoft bit locker kill the 2T seagate expension+ or it is a defective product manufactured in china 2020?
