57 YO here. Started fishing around 8 YO. Caught many fish off alot of these old lures. That crankbait with the lightning bolt is a Heddon Sonic. River Runt made by same company also good crankbait. The red/white spoon is a Dare Devil works fantastic for pike and chain pickerel. Watch alot of your vids and Yaks as well. Great to see the enjoyment you have fishing and the respect you have for the outdoors and fish you catch. Keep up what you're doing I enjoy your vids.
Lazy Ike was the orange "hump over" lure. The black lipless and yellow with lightening are Hedon Sonic Lures dates back to the mid 60's. A Great lure. Caught some big bass on those. It preceded the rattle trap. The black Spinner was a Shannon Twin Spin. That Devils horse is made of cedar that is what made them so durable.
@FishingwithNorm The Shannon Twin Spin was invented in 1915. Take a look at these ads from ebay..I think dated 1924. Also has that frog you guys looked at. www.ebay.com/itm/311545119193?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=311545119193&targetid=1262779892329&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9010805&poi=&campaignid=13384643917&mkgroupid=128838828211&rlsatarget=pla-1262779892329&abcId=9300578&merchantid=6326094&gclid=CjwKCAjwi9-HBhACEiwAPzUhHMX8XDZ5ElmBlU6DW0zDW84grAJ50jbyJm1DJ8qRy6rRnuIrIR39uhoCO7MQAvD_BwE
I may still have a few of those Sonic lures, they do catch fish. That yellow with the red head and black lightening stripe was my favorite back in the 60s.
This is my favorite video! The fishing lure @5:20 might be a Demon Shark Ike! Yes go back find some more gems! You should make an antique fishing lure room!
My wife and I have a box of old school lures, that we have picked up from random flee markets. We go out randomly on fishing trips with just that and old school zero 33s. Such a blast to catch them on antique lures
That double spinner at 4:20 is a Shannon Twinspin. The first reel is an ice fishing reel. The one you call a "Pikachu" is a Heddon Sonic, a great bait!
I think this is one of my favorite challenges you’ve ever done. It’s so cool to see what those before us were able to do without all of our current tech.
I have a lot of these exact lures. My great great grandfather came here to America from Poland and they have some crazy lures. My great grandpa and my grandpa were huge fisherman. It's so cool to look through their fishing stuff and seeing lures that they used as kids.
Green foam in tackle box those that open on both sides like that is called cantilever tackle box. I'm 57 and I've never seen those lures. It's not a fly reel, it's called a level - wind. Alot of those old lures are made of cork! I saw a black lure hanging on the shelf that was called a Hula Popper (top bait). Those old reels were all metal, no fiber gears, no plastic. That level wind with the green handles is just like one I have! I still use it! That devilhorse that Devin is fishing with is just like the one my brother has in his tackle box he bought in the 70's. It's got a propeller on the front of it.
I watched a lot of of your videos today. I was laid up with a bum ankle and a rainy day. I really dig you and the other guys videos. I appreciate them. Thanks for being awesome and making awesome videos. GET’EM!!!
I have an old tacklebox full of lures from the 1950s. From time to time, I take it out fishing, along with a 50s spinning rig that I restored to like new. Guess what? I catch fish with that old stuff, just like I did when I was fishing in the 1950s as a kid. It all still works. The fish don't know. They just eat it all. That's my nostalgia set-up. Fun times fishing with the old gear again.
The yellow and black lures with the lightning bolt are Heddon Sonic lures. The top water one could be a Bass Oreno lure. They are all great for bass fishing.
5:00 Kramer Bros Tackle can tell you about those blades. He essentially borrowed the design of those blades, tweak them slightly and made what he calls the Revo bucktail.
Only the O.G Bass in the water is gonna know what your throwing when you use those " Billy, check this out, haven't seen a grease lightning in a turtles age"
I recently was looking through my grandpas tackle box and its so odd a lot of the same stuff was in his. Love to see what people used to use some very odd stuff!
YOOOO NORM!!! whats up man?! I've been waiting for this upload ever since the last one. Thanks for lookin at my bass on snap, if you even remember me lol! You're the man norm!!
The 1 you saw @ the 4.55 to 5.06 time stamp looks 🔥🔥🔥😯❤🤯! That has to be fairly old but looks like it'd catch fish still! Know the devil horses were Amazing. Surprised there was no Jitterbugs!!!
This stuff reminds me of my Dad's best friend, George. He passed away this year, and he was like an Uncle to me. I went to school with his daughter, and my 10yo son is best friends with his youngest grandson. His grandsons all called him "Happy", so my son called him "Happy", too. His whole garage was full of that kind of stuff! Rest in peace "Happy"! 😢
Oh My Word! I have fished with one of those red/white big spoons! They were popular in the mid 50s. Not sure how long they were out beforehand but for certain before mid 50s when my Dad and me fished them. Cool score Bro !!
Nice jobs boys. It sucks that that Cardinal reel was busted. Keep your eyes out for a Zebco 33 or 404 for a vintage combo challenge. You won’t regret it.
Ahh, so fun, I remember the first time my dad showed me all of his great uncle Harry's lures that he had inherited, wow, they were strange and at the same time pretty amazing, they were hand carved wood and hand painted, also had some real old corks/bobbers we're talking 1890's early 1900's stuff. I do have them SOMEWHERE in storage I should try to find them again. Also 3 rods and 5 reels, this really makes me want to find them now.
Dude that Cardinal 4 is in insane condition and those are worth some serious money, I've got a Cardinal 3 (the smallest one) I just bought at auction for $145 and still needs a lot of work.
@FishingWithNorm I would love to see you guys use those flatfish. Seems like those boxes may have came from a northern fisherman considering what lures were in them. I would go back for sure Luke...nice find Dev!
I got a white lightning lure out of my grandpas old fishing stuff. Got a lot of other stuff too but I’ve definitely seen those lightning lures around. They must have been pretty popular back when?
Alright this is my kinda stuff, the last three videos I’ve seen have been goodwill, yard sale and this one. I love restoring reels and using them and old lures too, I just put up a video of a 1951 Shakespeare Direct Drive I’m going to make a video this evening About my antique bait casters now. That Cardinal 4 is a bucket lister find for me they are not cheap resale usually unless you find them at goodwill where most of my old reels and tackle come from ;). Fish ON my friends
NGL that perch lure devin had and the pikachu lure looks pretty good ...and a lot of those lures were for trout, trolling, and salmon. Some of those were actually fire.
Antique lures, old lakes when they are downBlack and yellow lures are sonic lures. brass with deer hair are mepps spinners and it would help if you didn't sling the lures around like mad men so we can actually see them. O would say 80% were from 1935-60. New lures didn't actually come out till the late 60s.
What shall we do next?
Make your own lure but with cat toys
Get pet bass my guy, they r fun to raise.
Go fishing with the oldest rid you can buy or go fishing with a stick
Survival fishing Challenge use/make baits to catch bass!
Video 4 of asking deep sea combo bass fishing

@FishingwithNorm The Shannon Twin Spin was invented in 1915. Take a look at these ads from ebay..I think dated 1924. The sonic was introduced in 1957 and I still own one of the older wooden Devil Horse. Still a favorite of mine
I may still have a few of those Sonic lures, they do catch fish. That yellow with the red head and black lightening stripe was my favorite back in the 60s.

I have that exact rattle trap in orange and I’ve never touched cuz I asseumed it would be garbo... I may needa use it on my next outing 😂😂
My wife and I have a box of old school lures, that we have picked up from random flee markets. We go out randomly on fishing trips with just that and old school zero 33s. Such a blast to catch them on antique lures

A lot of those things in the box’s are for salmon and steelhead. I’m from Oregon and I use a lot of those spinners and hard baits to this day !!!
The antique plugs are awesome finds. The devils horse is one of the best for when it is sprinkling rain.

I think this is one of my favorite challenges you’ve ever done. It’s so cool to see what those before us were able to do without all of our current tech.
Yes Norm, we caught fish in the good old days. You seem so surprised that the lures of yore worked.
Your excitement though is awesome.
2:49 that orange lure he pulled out of the box. My brother found one in a submerged tackle box that we found washed up beside the river
I don’t understand how somebody could dislike his video’s there are so awesome and make you want to keep watching
I have a lot of these exact lures. My great great grandfather came here to America from Poland and they have some crazy lures. My great grandpa and my grandpa were huge fisherman. It's so cool to look through their fishing stuff and seeing lures that they used as kids.

Cool stuff! My favorite lure is a hand made/carved frog my fiancee's great great uncle made with a pocket knife around 1915.
works good?
@@ragingspawnzz65 I'm too afraid to try it. I love it too much to get it hung on a log and lose it. It stays on a shelf.

I’m glad how norm sees and likes our comments, and if your lucky he even comments! Love the work you do man! ❤️
@FishingWithNorm I would love to see you guys use those flatfish. Seems like those boxes may have came from a northern fisherman considering what lures were in them. I would go back for sure Luke...nice find Dev!
I’ve caught some on the yellow and black devils horse . It was my favorite top water back in the 70s.

Bro. That Zebco is awesome!! Devin seriously got one of if not the best too water bait ever made. Devin will catch the monster on that..
I have that old red and white spoon I got at an antique shop. I know nothing about it but it's decoration.
After watching a lot of the Googan squad vids, dev is not afraid to get in the water. I’m pretty sure he could wrestle and win against a gator.
