- How well do fishing lures from 1950 (and even older) compare to the modern lures of today?
We bought a few vintage lures from the US and took them pike fishing here in Europe to find out!

Which of the lures did you think was the coolest?

Thanks for trying out our vintage lures. We appreciate your business and it was great to see you put them to good use! That big pike blow up was unbelievable!
I'm so happy to see you guys starting your own channel!!! Can't wait for more epic videos!❤
Thanks, we’ll keep ‘em coming! ❤️
Im so glad you two are back on youtube. Been missing you both for ages. Good luck with your new adventures
Thanks, it feels amazing to be back!
That was the sickest eat I have ever seen from a monster Pike... That thing was easily 46 or 47 inches long... Pushing what you guys would call a 120cm... It ate that top water and spit it out in less than a quarter of a second... As soon as he closed his mouth on it he opened it right back up... and you set the hook into air... Truly one wise monster!!! Absolutely the sickest thing I have ever seen in fishing.😂
They get old for a reason…😅 Wish to meet him again one day!
Congratulations both on the new channel! I binge all the Team Hajmat videos on Kanalgratis, so seeing you both with your own channel, brings me so much joy! Your videos changed the way i target pike. I wish you all the best and continued success!🤙🏽🤙🏽🇨🇦
More Hajmat action coming your way soon! 👊🏼❤️
So happy to have you around on UA-cam again on a higher frequency. Best Team on UA-cam is back on Track ........ Ooooooo Yeah
Boatside baby!!! 🔥
the quality of your videos is absolutely insane! keep going!
Do it again! One more time please!
Vilket avsnitt...bästa jag sett på länge. Love it.
Snacka om att erbjuda gäddorna något de inte sett förut. De små gäddorna har bara hört skrönor från gamla gaggiga släktingar och svarta pluggar och färggranna ödlor😂😂
I've never heard of Albert Ford, but the front scoop on that lure reminds me of the old Bass Oreno and Babe Oreno lures from Sough Bend. Also, the creases behind the head look like lures that a friend of my uncle used to carve out of pieces of broom handles to fish for musky here in central Pa. They were a bit larger, but had a similar head on them. I love vintage lures. I don't have many, but my favorite is a wooden River Runt with glass eyes from before they scooped out the head so deep (like the gray flip tail you had there). I have a couple of old Miracle Minnows from the 60's, some Flasher spoons that are no longer made, as well as some 3 inch Red Fins (also no longer made) from the 70's, and a few others. All of them caught fish, in their time and like you found here, likely would again if I was brave enough to expose them to the elements once more. I actually tried out a Red Fin last week and managed to hang it in a tree for a few minutes. But I love seeing others use theirs. Great video! Thanks.
An absolute blast seeing you have fun and laugh together. Great content that feels fresh and inspirational. Keep it up and congratulations to your own channel guys!
So nice to see you on your own channel! I was only watching kanalgratis for you two!
What a start for the new channel. 😮 Amazing action and super cool to have you both back here on the water for us 🎉
Thank you Severin! Would had been an even better start if we actually caught that pike but we’ll get her next time 😎
It was the craziest shot i've ever seen of a pike with the size of this jumping out of the water.... crazy😱 keep it up guys, crazy good video quality and unique video ideas.
Yes it was totally crazy! So happy we got it on video but it still hurts that we lost her 😭 Thank you! ❤️
You will get the revenge someday, i'm sure about that! @Boatside 💪
Amazing work guys that last fish was HUGE, can’t wait to see how far you guys go 🎉❤

Thanks!
Great video and production guys! You gained a new fan from the USA! That Pike strike was total madness.
Thanks man👊🏻
Let’s go!!! So pumped for this!
🔥🔥🔥
That's awesome that you guys bought those classic antique lures with a history. Most guys (myself included) just collect them, but often think about using them.
My hats off to both of you for taking a chance using them. Love watching your super quality videos, keep them coming.
BTW...I heard about boatside from Ben Stone when he was on the " musky hunks" podcast.
Era videos är superroliga att kolla på!!!! Vilken spänning med den stora gäddan.
You guys make the best videos. You're having fun and it truly shows. I wish I had pike fishing as good as you!
Keep pumping out videos and you guys Will one day be one of the biggest fishing channels. I love your guys hype in every video😀😀😀
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
Great content. Im glad im here early to see it grow. Love from the US❤
The woman saying "artlist io hit hard. Been there done that lmao
The old pike has been waiting since a long time for his old tasty lure ;-))
I am so happy to see you catching such beautiful pike in the beautiful Åland! 😍
The format is beautiful! Keep up the good work! 🥳
Are you kidding me? What a great Start with this epic Video!! Can‘t wait to see what you crazy guys did for the next episode. Go on!! Thanks for entertaining!!
Thanks so much for tuning in❤️
I didn't realize you guys were only starting, the production is great and both of you seem so fun to be around. Cheers from Brazil
23:55 The reason why LEGENDS will provide for the rest of us mortals, Legendary moments!
We’ll both remember that moment until the day we die! That’s what fishing is about!
Wow, I forgot all about those spoon plugs they used to be popular back in the early 1980s. Never used them myself since the lake I fished was so overgrown with weeds. That Heddon lure looks a lot like the old Creek Chub lures.
Excellent video, thanks for sharing your fishing experience with great ancient lures. Queen of the lake was massive! She is the Loch Ness monster 😄
Thanks for those words! She is an absolute unit…
I'm a eastern European its very funny to watch you , big fan of you guys keep it up !
That makes us very happy to hear, thanks a lot! 🙏🏼
It was great watching you smoke those fish with those vintage lures. Love your videos!
Crazy video!
Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks☺️
Love it, great to see you back. My favourite videos of all were always Pontus on the float tube. Can't wait to see more.
Thank you ❤️ There’s at least one more float tube video dropping soon!
22:27 that's a boat motor propeller wound I believe. nothing else could clean cut flesh like that.
I once caught a pike with very similar wounds near a boat mooring.
Great movie, thank you. Keep it coming and good luck with the Queen of the lake.
A lot of fun and popped up in my feed!
Great video. Great camera work. Great friendship. Great fishing passion. Love and respect from the Netherlands!
What a video to start your channel👍🏻👊🏼Epic🔥 Keep on going guys💪🎣
Love your guy’s videos!! Definitely quality over quantity!! 😊
Great vid! I love your sense of humor and the fun you guys have with each fish. Last year I went to Aland only because of your past videos - and man I was not disappointed: Fantastic scenery, people and awesome fishing... Looking forward to more of your videos with lots of fun and crazy action.
Thank you! ❤️ Yes Åland is such an amazing place.

🎣👍👍 snyggt filmad
Great Pictures, nice Idea, I have to go to look for my old lures ;-)
You should, they’re awesome!
Happy that it finaly came a good pike channel near me(norway). Keep it going 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Nydeligt, as we say😙
Years ago I would use old wooden brush handles that were broken cut them up into 4” to 5” long. Then sand them down to similar shape to a lure that the Swedish company ABU used to make. They would catch pike. Depending how I shaped the front end they would dive or splash about on the surface.
24:05 that pike was gigantic!
What a amazing first video. Well done Guys. The chemistry between the booth of you is so good. I love it. Can’t want to see the next.
Gtrz
Thanks for those beautiful words 🙏🏼❤️
Love your content. Your guys excitement is so contagious. I literally have been sitting on the edge of my seat. Be safe. Be happy. Smile big. Fish on!
Nice video Guys Awesome that you got your own channel, this style of videos you make are great, and trying to get the cool shots is EPIC😃
Thanks a lot Oskar, those words mean a lot coming from you! 😀👊🏼
Macht bitte so weiter!!❤ Keep that Level!
wow its fun to see u guys! btw if it’s barely hook. bring it to the left or right once u can see the fish being hook then change direction till u see the fish got hook to the second treble hook.
the best feeling is coming home from fishing to turn on the tv/comupter to watch some boatside
What a blast, what a totally SICK take from a real big pike. Looking forward to all your upcoming videos. And please some fly stuff.

Good luck with new channel Guys! Looking forward for new episodes. Maybe weekly release...!?😅😊
Thanks! 😍 We’ll try to start with every second week. There’s a lot of work going into those videos 😁
That spoon is meant for trolling and mapping out bottom structure. Best for deeper rocky bottom.
That was super cool! 🐟🙏👌🤟👍❤️
Nice start of your new channel and can't wait to see more. I really hope the Schnitzel Köder comes into play again😂
Cheers from Germany

Best fishing channel on YT, always fun to watch
Looked like a shark hely crap that pike had a bigggg head!❤🦈
Bro that giant pike attack was crazy... Good way to end the day. Makes you want to go back there i think. :)
Great video, thank you!
Thanks Erik! 👊🏼
I listed some of the lures in this video. Very cool to see the action of these baits even though it kinda hurt to see a vintage brush box flocked flap tail hit the water. Great video as well though!
24:06 Awesome filming. That was not pike, that was F*ng Godzilla 😮
Yes that was an epic moment!
Cool guys. Good to see, make more videos. Mille, if you get a strike, kill the movement of the lure for a second......then two fast twitches before you continue reeling. It works
Thanks, will try to remember that but I tend to forget in the heat of the moment :D
Super cool video, I think that many lure collectors had a stroke after view .. congrats and good luck 4 your new channel! cheers from Italy
Haha😂 They were once made for fishing after all...
What an awsome video guys👍👍👍 love watching your conrent, gives me so many ideas for my fishing here in Finland.
Tight lines🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thanks Jamie! Tight lines! 🎣
If I ever fished with a $200 lure, chances are good you'd see me climbing a tree that day
Great video and what a epic strike! Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 (Schnitzel Köder 😂)
You are best fishingsmans
