We had a summer home/log cabin with a well for 30 years. Water was always crystal clear even though we only used it once every month or 2. We knocked it down and had a house built with a brand new well. Now we have to drain the water heater every time we go there and run the water off or it will be orange and sandy. I'm getting ready to move there for good in a couple months. Should I just have another well installed near the original well. Did they not go deep enough? Maybe too deep? Please comment. I'm desperate!

I’m no expert but I wouldn’t drill a new well
You can get a sediment filter whole house filtration system
I read that it takes a while for new wells to settle down

If you are trying to clear the dirty water connect a long hose and take it a long way away from the well

I left my water on for 12 hours and the water just kept coming out. Still a grey clay color. I live in an area with several lakes and streams within just a few miles so the water table sits high. I have not had any issues in four years I've owned the place and just over one night it went bad. I was told might take a couple days of doing this.

@@singhsarabjit Had several different well companies tell me it was clay that had washed into the well. The only way I could clear it out was a filter inside the house that cleared it out. Expensive but works. If it wasn't for the fact that the clay was staining stuff I would not have cared.
