Yes...the Hodek Flys beautifully. NICELY trimmed and elegant.
That Hodek is one of my favorites and it is terrifying whenever it is descending near a tree or roof. But it never fails to inspire me to get back to my models when I get home.
There seems to be some very effective radio communication with the soul of the model and it listens to Tom telling it to stay up there!!!
Who said twin rubber planes don't fly very good ? Gosh that was beautiful .
Beautiful scenery and flying in the town of Garfield!
A true craftsman sharing his talent and the joy of freeflight...thank you....pure beauty
Once again, your daughter's spirit took hold of your Model and gave it a marvelous flight. I apologize if my mention of your daughter is inappropriate. I realize that your love was that of a parent, but perhaps the good Lord is giving you a subtle reminder that she still loves you.
SPECTACULAR !!! I was expecting rockets vrooom straight up blast off but no. soooo slow sooo majestic. a pleasure to watch as it should be. Absolutely Spectacular!
Just received my November issue of Model Aviation. Congratulations on the new "FF Scale" columnist position! I always look forward to your vids and now I get to enjoy your writing as well. Win Win !
That's close encounters country!!, great atmospheric video as usual, and wonderful models! Again, as usual 👍👍👍👍
You have some of the best flights on UA-cam!
I need to build FF again. I miss that elegance of a well built model doing the right stuff all by itself.
I don't comment very often on videos, but I just had to say I absolutely love your Hodek. It is a stunning aircraft model both in flying ability and in shear beauty. If I had some talent I would try to build one myself, but I am only good enough to build kits or simple plans builds. LOL And thank you for allowing us to go on your wonderful flying adventures.
Thx, Glenn. It came from the 15" Lubomir Koutny plan that was in Flying Models mag. a few years back. I enlarged it to 35.5" and added structure where needed. When she hooks, she really gets up there. I love seeing her against the blue, then in and around the clouds.
Everything……amazing….. thank you
conjoined symmetrical twins...joined at the spar. They share a torso but each have their own beating heart
Good to see a scale rubber ff flying smoothly, gracefully.
THANKS!
I now expect nothing nothing les in terms of model flight performance, build and videography and music from Maxfliart.
One more feather to an already full cap.
May you continue to amaze us with such brilliant stuff.
Great way to wake up in the morning and check my phone. It’s like I'm still in reverie. Very dreamlike.
Thx. It feels a bit like that when they hook...but I'm always relieved when they come back.
Congrats on joining the AMA magazine, you do such great work. I hope it doesn't slow down the building and videos!
Thank you for another inspirational video!, You bring some much needed calm to this crazy world!, Thank you again
Beautiful!
Yes, Tom, the plane looks happy.
Ha...yes. I'd become accustomed to just bringing them out of the box and flying on contest day, without first giving them a short trim flight to check the surfaces...so this was my way of making sure the Hodek was ready to go the following day. It worked!
Excellent work.
Great video beautiful model and flights! When i was a kid i built a Comet B-26 and i thought it was going to beat itself to death on the first flight. I got into RC a bit later, but FF is so inspiring to do and watch I’ll be back to it before long. Especially since it is outside of the FAA id crap. Thanks for sharing!
Tom, did you install the Voice Control module in your Hodek? :D But seriously - lovely models and beautiful flights! I like especially Hodek, it was stunning airplane. Looks like a smaller Mosquito, isn't it?
Another beautiful video. Your talent as a artist really shows through in your video productions.
Thx, Steve. I enjoy flying and sharing the experiences.
Fantastic! Even the Mig error is beautiful.
I'd like to do an OV-10 Bronco (Twin Boom fuse) someday.
Thanks again. I hope you enjoy the building season.
Thx.
Acho incrível seu trabalho! Parabéns!!
Muito obrigado!
You said these "were the twins you flew in Muncie" but were these flight videos in Muncie or Wallywallywanda?...perfect music by the way and nice models...Moses
Thx. All of these flights were on the beautiful field in Muncie, at the AMA headquarters. It's about 5/8 mile by 1.5 miles, then surrounded by crops. A great place to fly, plus u can visit the AMA Museum, which is loaded with model aviation history. A must see.
Thanks for another inspiring video, Tom! It's fascinating how far our hobby has come in recent years. You would have absolutely dominated any national free flight rubber scale event back in the '70s or '80s, when most competitors were flying simple high wing planes, and a one minute dead air flight was uncommon. Like many modelers, I don't have a decent flying field near me. Muncie would be a full day's drive from me, while Geneseo and Wawayanda would be two days' drive. As someone who has flown extensively at all three fields, how would you compare them for size, air quality, fun, etc? Any hints of what's on your building board this winter?
Thx, Slim! F/F mentors are very giving with their knowledge, so all of my friends have been sponges whenever we shared the fields with these gents. We owe so much to those from our modeling past. Muncie is 600 miles, while Geneseo is 275, and Wawayanda is around 95. All three are great places to fly, but I think that Muncie is my favorite, since the entire field is so accessible, with a perimeter road. Plus they have the AMA Museum. A must see. Wawa is my second fav, since it's so close, and also has plenty of space. I love camping there to catch the sunsets & sunrises. I've been going to Geneseo since 1990, and have only missed a couple of Non-Nats in the early 90s. While the surrounding crops seem to be closing in on the open space, it's still a great place to meet up with friends from all over the North America, and occasionally some from Europe. All should be on a modeler's bucket list.
Brilliant as ever! I just LOVE this Hodek, I have followed its progress somewhat and its just such a cool airframe. I have sometimes wondered about geared rubber motors for twins with short nacelles, and years ago I tried a bit, just with skeletal and profile own design models, done purely to see what could be done with little plastic cog wheels and short fat motors. Do you or anyone have any thoughts on this? Some stunning flying here. Beautiful. 🌟🌟👍
👍👍👍
How distant of a cousin is rubber powered flight vs electric flight anyway ?
Hi, I'm an old stick and tissue freeflight guy, but I'm also a collector and flyer of the old North Pacific planes; Astro Gnat, Skeeter, Sleek Streek, Star Flyer. Back in the 60's there was also a series of vacuformed planes were were great flyers printed in superhero patterns; Batman, Spiderman, Captain America, and Wonderwomen. So far I haven't found any information on them and zero pictures on any of my searches. If you or any of your watchers have any information I would appreciate it greatly. I may even offer up a Sleek Streek in it's original packaging if anyone can lead me to a purchase of one of them in good condition. Thank you.
Are they the "Marvel Flyers" gliders? I've seen many boxes on the web showing this set of twelve, but nothing vacuformed. Were they rubber powered?
I also found this on ebay. Expensive!! www.ebay.com/itm/201769289883
@@maxfliart Howdy, I tried to send a link to something similar that I may just have to pick up. On Ebay, if you do a search for, "Superior rubber band airplane Yankee Doodle" you'll get a better idea. Thank you for getting back to me and like everyone else who follows you, I am impressed by your mastery of the stick and tissue freeflight airplane!
Just get on with it for crying out load.
Huh...???
It’s is make for good fly rubber plane YES!
motor, esc, battery, servos and receiver ;)
i was a wondering do you or any of your viewers use monokote on Rubber powerd ?
If they have, I've never seen it. Much heavier than tissue, so most wouldn't go that route.
