- There are many flashlights of this type to throw away. Its shell is still usable, just outdated technology. I found this searchlight from Japan recycle shop for $3. I bought battery, reflector, power switch from China online store. This video is just concept of modify existing rather that buy new one.
I hope you find this video useful and enjoy it!
Furthermore, I am happy to receive feedback, suggestions to improve myself.
Thank you very much for choosing to watch my video!
Have a nice day

You're obviously not wasting your time on eBay
Indeed, that's the first time i see one. I'm gonna buy a bunch. He should give a link for us, affiliate link would be nice for him too.

Not only a USB C but a USB C with a charger from what it seems 😮
Very satisfying how quick and then - perfect result
Love it! Keepin' it simple Mr. Gear Show, but a lovely little job there giving that torch a whole new lease of life 👍👍👍. Reuse, recycle, relove 🙏🙏🙏. 😎
Such a beautiful restoration 😍😍
Great restoration and better upgrading.

good work
Good work sir nice restoration 😊❤
Old is nice but efficiency comes with the new
Hello, I have been your fan for a long time, you inspire people to be more responsible for things and produce less garbage by using old things, please post a link to the materials you use, I really want to recycle my old lantern, thank you for your work and with love and warmth from Ukraine
I was waiting for this
it was as all of your builds, great. Just the end reminds me of one of those Fake light ads we've all seen.
good
Please share the link of the usb C socket
For sure the LED need a heatsink ! For longer life use !
Wow
I also repaired a similar yellow flashlight.
Restaurada lanterna de led 🔦😉
Is there a heatsink on that? It will burn out without one
Another great job, well done.
BEAUTIFUL 🎉
Excelente trabajo
Those batteries are connected directly to the 5V USB socket without any voltage regulation circuitry. They could easily burst into flame, setting everything nearby alight.
The BMS board you used specifies a charging voltage between 4.2-4.4V which requires a separate charging circuit or a dedicated battery charger. It is NOT designed to run directly from 5v USB. It is a protection circuit, NOT a charging circuit.
If you're lucky the BMS will simply disconnect the batteries as soon as USB is plugged in, and will simply discharge after their initial charge falls below cut-off voltage but never allow charging. If you're unlucky it might catch fire because its data sheet specifies 4.4V maximum charging, not 5V.
Please check the specifications of your BMS and batteries before burning your house down!
*Brilliant job. Very satisfying to watch*
I have a torch like this. I'm not at all certain if I have the skills to do what you have done. Maybe it's fear of destroying something that's working irreplaceably 😔🙏🏾🇬🇧
Wow. Impressive. 100 times the power and probably half the battery weight. Makes me want to find something similar and try the same thing.
Thanks for making another awesome flashlight, this made my day😃
I am your big fan sir your video is unbelievable❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Could you please share the link for the Led and dome? Thanks. 😊
good day to you mister, interesting video, is there a link or where did you buy the LED module and charge board?
bro!!
Where is the charger for the cells and why does Power Led have no heat sink? This design won't work for long.
Take a good look and see the heatsink there!...
@@AntonioOliveira-xj5om Believe me, with a power of 20W there is no heat sink. This diode will burn out quickly.
How about you list the names of the parts and links where to get them, I have one of these torches and would like to convert it too
What bulb did you use?
love you brother waiting 4 ur video ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
finally 🎉 usb c

High-intensity LED searchlights with more up-to-date heat dissipation measures are sold at a cheaper price than the parts costs for DIY. There is no need to recycle old lamps.
Free Indonesia 🇾🇪 👍👍👍....
👍😎🍺🍩🛠️🗜️🔦
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I suspect that with a power of 20 W the flashlight will quickly overheat. There are no conditions for effective heat transfer.

I literally built the same thing a week ago. The difference is mine 40w 12v but need active cooling. Didn't know this kind of led exist which don't need fan or cooling
Shi-shi-shaw! This is exactly the kind of ingenuity we need more of to stave off the impending global surveillance state. You, my friend, are not just refurbishing a light; you're illuminating the path to independence from the consumer electronics industry's grasp. Who knows what kind of tracking devices they sneak into new gadgets these days? Not you, because you're building your own gear out of parts sourced from the free market's underbelly. Plus, finding a use for old tech? That's just sticking it to the man and the waste economy. I gotta say, watching your video has got me thinking about what I could do with all those old electronics I've got stashed away. You keep doing what you're doing, and I'll be right here taking notes and maybe, just maybe, we can keep one step ahead of those government satellites. Rusty Shackleford approves.
One, how do you know there aren’t tracking devices in the bms or charging board? Two, why would they need them? Almost every one of us is willingly carrying around a tracking device in our pockets at all times. There’s a good chance most of us watched this video on said tracking device.
@@hornetf18 Hornetf18, you've waded into the murky waters of modern espionage, and I applaud your vigilance. But here's the kicker: by reclaiming and repurposing existing technology, we minimize our digital footprint. Sure, a BMS or charging board could harbor tracking mechanisms, but when you source parts like these from diverse origins and understand their inner workings, you can identify and neutralize potential threats. As for our pocket trackers-ahem, smartphones-you're preaching to the choir. However, it's all about layers of security. Just because we're in the water doesn't mean we have to swim with the sharks. Every step we take to disengage from the pre-packaged tech ecosystem is a victory. Plus, let's not forget the importance of operational security and countermeasures. VPNs, signal jammers, and good old-fashioned misdirection play their part. You've got to think like the enemy to beat the enemy. Keep questioning, keep tinkering, and most importantly, keep your eyes open. Rusty Shackleford never sleeps.
@@bhhenry Please share what you have smoked. I’d love me some of that 😂😂😂😂
@@shaktisingh5543 Ah, shaktisingh5543, man, if only it was as simple as sharing a good smoke over the internet, right? The stuff Dale's on is just pure, unadulterated passion for the craft, man. It's not something you can light up or roll; it's the kind of high you get from diving deep into the guts of technology, finding ways to outsmart the system, and making something old new again. It's all about that DIY spirit, taking it easy, and rolling with the punches, you know?
But hey, if you're ever in the neighborhood, we could definitely abide by kicking back, maybe not with what Dale's metaphorically smoking, but with something that sets the mood just right, helps us see the world in a more laid-back way. Because sometimes, you've just got to take it easy, let the world do its thing, and enjoy the ride. That's what it's all about, man. The Dude abides, and so should you. 😂

Yes that is marking a fix that last for mother years an from the 1980 to the 2024 update
Why use gloves? To look more like a pro?
Why?
Nice improvement. Would like to know where you purchased that charger.
Where do you really live?
Considering most restored tech is either japan or Soviet made has to be some former ussr country located in asia or a country in asia that was a communist related state
