If I’d known that I wouldn’t have gone to the doctor last week.
Uranus looks amazing!
(Why thank you-I didn't think anyone had noticed!)
Dang! You beat me to it! 😣
Why thank you for noticing, I just had it bleached!
It is because of off-color jokes like this that we changed the name to Urectum!
I love how all the planets rotate fairly normally, but Uranus just rolls around the Solar System like a dropped marble.
Cheek, yours might but mine stays upright 😉
Venus rotates in the opposite direction than other planets except Uranus, very slowly though.
I said to my co-worker: "I never thought I'd see the day where we'd be able to gaze at such detailed pictures of Uranus!" ... she reported me to H.R. !!
Sir please may I just get my chicken nuggets I ordered an hour ago
😂😂😂😂😂
Beautiful! Last summer I took a picture of it with my 6'' Smith-Cassigrain telescope and my daily dslr behind it. It's just a blueish dot surrounded by stars and I only know it's there because my go-to-mount guided me there. It's nothing - and I still love it because I did it myself out of my backyard, always gives me better feel for these images taken by the large guns. Thanks for another great video!
Do you think we'll ever be able to use a probe to explore Uranus? I personally would love to see that.
Able? Sure. Just a matter of priorities. Personally while i find uranus fascinating, with limited resources i would like to see other stuff more. Europa, Enceladus, Titan... an atmospheric probe to venus, a probe able to dig deep on mars... Triton and therefore neptune would be higher on my priorities too.
lol
@@PyrioldI wonder if there's any orbital way to open wide Uranus?
I would love to see a moon from uranus
LMAO! Ha ha ha! Oh you're serious?
I would crack a joke about Uranus, but I can't beat your thumbnail 😂
Great video. I loved the comparison of rotational speeds between all the planets. I've never seen them all together like that
biting my tongue too...
That's why, when it came to the naming of the moons using Shakespeare's character names, they skipped using Bottom.
You could just say "thank you, I've been doing a lot of squats."
i saved it for lster to troll the boys
I’m absolutely fascinated by the “ice giants” of our solar system. This image is spectacular!! Thank you for sharing. How fortunate are we to live in such a vibrant and dynamic solar system!!
It's pretty "crazy" that a telescope designed to peer into to the vastness of space shows us so many new features of our Solar System.
*All those galaxies* are especially cool. Seeing so many of them together - in the same frame as an object within our system, no less - will always amaze me.
"Uranus is big, and distended"
I believe that there's a cream, for that. 😅
(sorry, I tried so hard to resist. 😣)
Resistance is futile. This is Uranus we're talking about 😀
@@mitabpraga7487 😆
Uranus pictures makes me very happy
Splendid looking...I wish it was mine and not Uranus.
Thanks Chris. Uranus looks amazing too. Merry Christmas!
I love how every thing written or said about uranus becomes a double meaning joke
We all love Uranus
I thought there was only one meaning
Quadruple meaning: the mythical god, the planet, your anus, urine us!
Thank you for noticing!
Thank you for sharing this!
Whenever I see all the galaxies that photobomb JWST pictures I wonder if we are photobombing any of theirs.
of course, all the immature jokes will be coming in very soon.
... emissions from a Gas Giant. (Somebody had to get the ball rolling!)
Sorry I'm late, see comment above.
Nothing like a brand new picture of Uranus for Christmas.
It's not like he didn't ask for it.
I like all the beautiful shades of Uranus.
I never knew Uranus could be so beautiful!
I hope to see more pictures of Uranus...
Pictures of Uranus should be posted more on the internet.
I agree, Chris, this a really gorgeous image of Uranus with a view of fourteen of its moons. JWST does it again! Many thanks for your videos through the year which have been very informative, very well presented, and always presenting something new. Have a wonderful holiday, Chris, and may the year to come bring even more wonderful, exciting and thought-provoking astronomical discoveries
I want to send a probe to Uranus so I can get an idea of the physical characteristics of the atmosphere. What does Uranus smell like? “How strong are the “storms” inside Uranus? Maybe the probe can get in-depth images of Uranus and show us any oddities found inside of it.
@@pbj5521 🤣
Thanks! I've been working out and bleaching it!
Cheers for the video. Simply stunning 👍👍👍
Happy Holidays!
Uranus looks amazing
Thankyou it’s been a few years since I’ve heard that
Shave more
Wow - wonderful! Amazing.
Thanks for all your wonderful videos this year! Looking forward to more great content in 2024! 🎉
Thank you so much for the support and for the kind words! Hope you're having a good winter break and have a great 2024 🥳
I’ll try that as my next pick up line Uranus looks amazing
URANUS LOOKS AMAZING!!!
THANK YOU! I GET THAT COMPLIMENTY A LOT.
Thank you darling 😘
What a wonderful picture of Uranus! Im glad there weren't any dark smudges on it.
Well thanks! So is yours. Are you using the new wax? Ready for the PC name change to Urectum?
Absolutely stunning image. Are any of Uranus’ moons thought to have the right conditions for life?
Thanks for the info. Amazing Sunlight tho. Reaching past Uranus. Nice.❤
Why, thank you! All those hours in the gym have paid off! 😊
Thanks for this, the photo of Uranus with galaxies in the infinite blackness behind it are truly incredible. When Voyager 2 imaged Uranus in 1989, there was a storm (I think), called the Scooter, do you know if it is still extant?
Thank you for the compliment.
In the movie Journey To The Seventh Planet (1962), a small group of intrepid space explorers took a rocket to Uranus.
And to their shock and horror, they discovered Uranus had some real nastiness to it.
A review of It Came From Uranus in 3D...
The movie was trying to cash in on the 1950s' 3D popularity like as in It Came From Outer Space, which by the way, had a really nifty landslide scene where it seems like boulders are literally coming out of the screen and right into the audience.
It Came From Uranus had a scene where it looked like a monster from Uranus was coming right out of the screen into the audience. The audience, of course, would scream like crazy. One of the scariest scenes ever in sci-fi.
I remember seeing that movie late night TV when I was in high school. There was a monster like a big brain in a cave on Uranus (didn’t matter that it’s a gas giant). Monster was ... terrorizing Earth somehow. Monster kills spaceman Jim. Captain Hero Guy kills monster. The planet starts breaking apart for no logical reason. Heroes rush back to the ship.
Pilot: Where’s Jim?
Capt Hero: He’s dead, let’s go.
A minute later cue the credits and theme music: JourNEEEEY to the Seventh Pla-nehhht!
Jim died? So much for "he's dead, Jim"!
Thanks, I made sure to wax it up real nice before the photoshoot.
Thank you!
AP had a headline about Uranus' strange tilt that read "A Massive Object Devestated Uranus Long Ago and it has Never Recovered"
great vid mate
Thank you 😊
Thank you.
Spot on 🚀🛰🛰🌙🌞🌞🌞
Chris, I just thought about something… surely the light from the sun could hit the moon’s surface and reflect onto the planet- and vice versa? Meaning a special instrument from a telescope could detect a change in the brightness? I hope you know what I mean. And if it’s possible for Uranus and it’s moons- it’s possible on another planet far away?
THANK YOU
Thanks😊!
I cant believe i just saw a pic of Uranus and how cool it looks against the dark sky
😆!
Thanks!
Its definitely my favorite planet, after Earth of course. Very photogenic.
thx for the compliment!
Great video... Fun fact, the wordplay with the planet's name only works in english...
The english speaking world should rename it to something else, like Urectum
Thank you so much. I clean it everyday.
LMAOOO
Hey kids, this is the latest picture of Uranus.
Kids: it doesn't look like ours.
Uranus is just so dazzling, I can't take my eyes off of it.
Thanks 😅
why thank you! How kind.
Uranus still looking solid after all this time and abuse from deep impacts, not even a hint of prolapse or assterhoid damage
Thanks! Just had it waxed!
Let's not forget that Voyager 2 did a flyby in 1986 and got some amazing pictures.
Of Uranus?
Yep, and then went on to Neptune.@@elijahfluw4347
@@elijahfluw4347 of the planet, yes. January 1986.
@@ronald3836 Neatly avoided... 😀
Quite a Sight Uranus. Lot's of work seems to have been done lately around the wonders of the subject. Shure we'll root out all it's secrets eventually.
Thanks.
It is an amazing picture - looks just like some 1960's childs book picture of space!
Thanks
Wow it almost looks surreal.
Thanks, your does too
Why is Venus's axial tilt defined as 177.4° rather than 2.6°? (For that matter, seems like Uranus's could just as easily be 82.2° instead of 97.8°!) And wouldn't they be equivalent in any case? Seems like that quantity could always be expressed as a number
Thank you! 😂
Are the images composites? Theres no way an image of Uranus taken from inside our solar system would show distant galaxies as being that size right? or am i way off?
Uranus is breathtaking.
How did they nail the name on that luscious planet so many years ago.. 👏👏😎 bravoo
thanks
fantastic thumbnail..! my first thought was "thanks! but whos been telling stories?"
2:23 "Uranus is BIG...and extended...with spikes coming out of the [w]hole" 😂
I never realized there are points if it's orbit where the planet rolls directly towards and away from us
How many passes did it take to get a full image of Iranus
After all these years I'm convinced the UR- Anus jokes will NEVER die
And if they do, they will be replaced with urine us jokes!
December 21, 2023 - Hello! My name is David. I thought the rings around Uranus looked almost too symmetrical. Is it possible that the rings are an optical artefact of the JWST viewing system? I mean, how do we know that the rings are truly there? I know the way light hits optics, sometimes it causes very interesting artefacts. Thank you for taking my question. Be safe!
3:22 Images from Voyager II
I love the odd sideways way the planet is framed by its rings - like a sapphire gem encircled by hoops of gleaming silver. An truly strange and ethereal sight every bit as lovely in its own way as its cousin Saturn.
I know....thanks for the compliment ☺
Is there a simple definition of difference between planets, stars, moons and sun?
1:24 what star is that?
6:13look at the shadow of Uranus's rings
It looks like a water world!
Reminds me of pic above Antarctica
A cosmic selfie of uranus! 🖤😎👍
Thanks, I like yours too
I had a dozen ghost pepper/ brisket tamales last night, this morning it feels like the sun !
I have no idea how it looks, probably red and angry !
Interesting . The sounds associated with Uranus when it erupts are to complex to be described here. :O)
🤣
thanks for noticing
Why thank you, sir. 😉
Never ever thought that uranus looks beautiful. It's very beautiful. We need to get in there or probe it. No other way around it.
Those rings look tight!
Why, thank you-no one’s ever told me that before
We’ve speculated as to what space smells like but I wonder…. What does Uranus smell like?
"Uranus looks amazing!"
Thank you! So does yours!
lmao
So many lines about Urrectum.
By Jove, there are rings around Uranus!
I have heard Uranus has a perpendicular rotation.
