So, while this is a remaster of a very old video, I've changed so much of it that it's basically a brand new video. Enjoy!
Glad to see you updating old videos, weather it be quality or information. Or both 👍
Thanks!
Thank you for this video, I've been watching your content for quite a while now and honestly can never wait for the next one. Keep it up and thanks again!! 👍
@@shaund2635 ... you must wait, you have no choice...
@@Quickened1 Lol I know, it's okay really. Just makes for better watching when the next one drops 😉
thank you all for the nice compliments!.. i am sorry about Casinni, it was not on purpose
:(
It's ok
We forgive you saturn
Lol no worries 💛
Its alright! You coulda kept it in your orbit though. :(
Saturn, met me, your twin but i have bigger ring
How can anyone not feel awe when presented with images of mighty Saturn?
So big, majestic and beautiful. Always was my favorite of planets.
Those are 16yr who play among us for whole day
Thank you
@@saturn7008 yw babe
Thanks
Definitely. And it's even more amazing to think that there's at least one "super Saturn" out there with rings so big that if it was exchanged with Saturn, they would be as big as the Moon in the night sky.
That picture of Saturn backlit by the sun is just so gorgeous! The wonders of our universe never cease.
Thanks for the video Alex, always a pleasure to look at the Ringed Giant.
I can't believe thats an actual picture and not an illustration or render. Amazing. Unbelievable that humans can send a machine to another planet and take such pictures, what a power of intelligence.

Wow
Saturn isn’t the only planet to have rings, but it definitely has the most beautiful ones 🖤🌀
the most surprising were the rings around Uranus...
@@Quickened1 Let's keep this PG 😝
@@apocalypse487 ... look it up, the rings around Uranus are the most surprising because they actually face us, instead of being on edge... get your mind out if the gutter!!! 🙈🙉🙊 Haha...
i thought u are the official nASA channel
@M yea
This was the first Planet I saw with my own two eyes. During one of the conjunctions in 2021. In extremely clear skies with no light pollution on a farm in Mississippi. Saturn has easily become my favorite Planet and sparked my interest to the cosmos.
That's was an awe inspiring sight, I was able to get an amazing view of it with a cheap refractor telescope from around 7000 feet above sea level.
You dont need to be in the middle of nowhere to see saturn??? Its about as bright as vega?? Its not that dim??
Quite possibly the most beautiful picture in our Solar System, is that of a backlit Saturn featuring us as the little blue dot obscured in the dust.
The portrait of Saturn and Earth in the same shot, wow. Gets things into perspective.
I love Saturn , its just such a beautiful planet. Sending u all the best from South Africa :)
I love hearing your passion, excitement and your smile in the voice. It is always a pleasure to listen. :)

Mission Director: Where's Cassini going?
Navigator: Probably headed towards that small moon
Mission Director: **sees Mimas through Cassini's instruments**
Mission Director: That's no moon 😳
lmao! 😂
Saturn is the understated diamond of the solar system
Cassini was my favorite mission, absolutely beautiful photos and amazing information to be learned from our neighbor
Saturn and its rings are so beautiful. Truly stunning when you think about the scale of everything too
Such a beautiful planet. The rings of Saturn always fascinated me so much as a kid.
Dude, this is badass. Im glad I could live long enough to see actual high resolution pics of actual planets. Even Earth selfies!
Very impressive. So many beautiful pictures. 11:50 is indeed very breathtaking and then you point to the earth. Just incredible.
Beautiful and majestic Saturn. I dream the day our starships will "park" around it's orbit for us to appreciate it's beauty.
Beautiful godmother of the Solar System with a precious gem called Titan.
Don't forget the highly reflective gem of a moon Enceladus,
and of course the Mighty Death Star Moon Mimas
@@hevendor958
And Tethys. Mimas is DS-1, Tethys is DS-2
And let's not forget the rings around Uranus, 😁
Um.... yeah! 👍
The rings are just totally awesome. How can anyone not be blown away by the majesty of it all. Just to be able to see this in detail is a privilege. Saturn is the centrefold of all planets.
My favorite planet "the lord of rings" 😍thank you Cassini..... you stole my heart 💖
Without doubt Saturn it's one of the most beautiful planets from the solar sistem.
It's incredible how this planet can float if we put in a bathtub or in a swimming pool, it's an amazing world who also has incredible moons .
Thanks for the information Alex, Great november for everybody 👋, greetings from mexico 🇲🇽.
What I don’t like of this video is that it is (almost) making me change my favourite planet from Jupiter to Saturn ! Other than that great video and breathtaking pictures! 🪐
It's hypothesized that the formation of Saturn prevented Jupiter from completing its journey to the centre of the Solar System, effectively drifting into the Sun. This is according to the theory that Jupiter drifted towards the Sun during the early formation of what we consider to be our solar system. I've gone off on a bit of a tangent but what I originally meant to say was that you can like em both equally, as they (possibly) worked together to get to their current positions, relatively far away from the sun.
- Saturn is my favourite planet ✅
- Enceladus and Titan are one of my favourite moons (+ some other moons of Saturn)✅
- Cassini-Huygens is one of my favourite probes ✅
- This video is great ✅✅
Damn, I am sad you didn't mention the orbital dance between Janus and Epimetheus because it is my personal favorite part of the Saturnian system. They are moons that basically share the same orbit and trade positions back and forth!
There was a lot more that I could have talked about, I'll just have to save them for future episodes :)
@@astrumspace I plan to keep watching forever so on a long enough time frame I am expecting them to be mentioned!
You sure know where to find the pretty pictures!
I sometimes get excited into higher energies but not so often these days.
I know exactly what you mean
I love the picture of Saturn with a little dot showing the earth,.. that’s so cool. Just reminds us how tiny we are in the universe
We need to send 4k cameras to Saturn and the rest of the planets in our solar system. I'd be down to help fund that.
We have to spend our money supporting people who don’t work.

Saturn is not only my favourite planet, it's also my favourite from Holtz's Planet Suite.
I do a fair bit of astronomy public outreach. Saturn ALWAYS blows peoples minds. I have a homemade 17.5" reflector and I often hear "It looks just like pictures"
@ASTRUM I have been following your channel for a long time now. I enjoy all of the videos you have posted but this one is the cherry on the cake! Beautifully narrated with a calm voice and subtle information. Thank you :) Astrum and Alex :)
just when i though i couldnt learn anything new.... the Pheobe dust and Iapetus's color makes so much sense!
Thank you for including the word "wonky" in a video about science and space. Makes it a little more real...
Thank you for remastering this series.
I learned more in this 16 minute video than I learned in all my years of school and college.
I LOVE your videos!
Possibly the most beautiful planet out there, Saturn is by far my most favorite planet, there is just so much about Saturn that makes the planet stand out so much over every other, the rings of course are the main attraction. It isn't the only planet with rings, but it is the only one with such amazingly visible rings that look super smooth. Man what I sight it would be to see Saturn in person with your own eyes, not through a telescope or picture or video, but through the glass of a space craft. How lucky are we to have such a beautiful planet in our solar system.
Awesome presentation thank you
that saturn backlit by the sun is currently my wallpaper background. such a beautiful picture
I really enjoy your content because you emphasize that there is so much we don't know, and don't just pass on theories as facts. Also very calming, interesting and wondrous videos, thank you.
What a beautiful planet, thank you for reuploading this video Alex.
This is my favorite planet.
Ointing out Earth in the distance blew me away!
As a very young kid, my favorite planet in our Solar System was always Saturn. It always had such an air of mystery and majesty. Really looking forward to this video :)
Yeah Saturn is like Dulphins in the ocean. I like sharks! Sea horses aren't bad! The male has the babies!
Amazing video! Thanks!
Wow Alex, the quality was bonkers. That must have been a lot of work, but the quality of the result is just... *chef kiss*. Thank you!!
My favorite planet in Solar system.
Beautiful pictures
Appreciate the text descriptions with the images/footage you're showing. Not many UA-camrs do that
Really beautifull images and a well designed script to present them.
Wow! Blown-away & enjoyed to a great extend!
Thank you for this passionate & delightful as well as well-crafted presentation! Top!
I love this channel.
What a gorgeous planet. Thanks so much for your videos!
Around 1995 a got myself a Christmas present, a vixen 114mm Newtonian telescope. Weather was overcast and we stayed south of Munich in the mountains. Early in January we finally had a cold day with perfect blue sky… I put the thing out around sunset and started looking at the first bright “star” after it had cooled down… one really bright point straight south and bang that was Saturn- such a great view, as darkness came there was obviously more but the first thing I ever looked at through a telescope was saturn and it looked spectacular!!!
This is one of the best videos I have ever seen in my life!!! Very informative and very beautiful. Thanks.
These updates are great and I wouldn't mind another update of these videos in another year or twos time. Haha. Loving your videos man. As an avid UA-cam I click on your videos the fastest
I’ve seen this video like 6 times now, 3 times the old one and 3 times now. I love Saturn 🪐 and your videos! Keep it up!
Been rewatching this over and over for a few days now and it's always excellent 👌
Amazing video Astrum!
I find the size of everything in the universe to be mind-blowing! To think that 764 Earths could fit into Saturn is just incomprehensible for me!
Love Saturn, for some reason - it's such a majestic, aweinspiring behemoth of a planet.
Holy Hannah, fantastic work! Thank you! So beautiful.
Thank you Alex you're awsome appreciate and enjoy your videos and all the work you put into them keep em coming 💯💯
Saturn is very beautiful! Thank you for making this video. It is a balsam for the soul in the times of Sade Sati. 😍❤️🇸🇮😇
You passion for this is palpable, and contagious. Thank you so much!
Outstanding presentation
Just one video is enough to get me subscribed. The soundtrack is amazing. Congratulations and thanks for the great content
Excellent content. Beautiful images and accurate scientific explanations
I LOVE your videos and I'm glad you remade this one
I can hear the passion in your voice. Great work
I re-watched the old one yesterday lol
I love this channel. Please continue the great work! Thank you.
Wonderful! I could look at images from Saturn for hours.
On the subject of Saturn, maybe you could do a short video about The Great Conjunction coming up. There must be some interesting facts associated to it I would have thought.
I’m excited for that
Would love to see a Ganymede video
Truly amazing. Great video. Good narration. Nice photography. Well done Alex👍
very informative video ! love this, keep it up Astrum !
Another awesome Astrum video. Thanks and keep em coming please.
Awesome work, your videos are the best. I always learn so much from them. Thanks!
I love your vids man. Keep up the good work 👍
Wonderful video with breathtaking images! I love it!
But strangely, the title advertises a 4K vid yet I can only watch it at a 1080p max. Is that normal?
same here, weird. dont get it.
@@aendoh In the pined answer from Alex, he says that UA-cam has a hard time processing the 4K rendering for some reason, and he contacted them to inquire about this issue.
Man you could literally just stream a slide show of these pictures and I’d watch. That said I do enjoy your narration.
Excellent video! Thanks, It really brought the rings to life with the explanation, I had no idea that the dust from the Phoebe ring was landing on Iapetus like that!!!! Going to go deep dive on Iapetus now :)
I only recently discovered your site. Your vision is beautifully presented to be enjoyed by both, the non lay man, and the more proficient astronomer. Absolutely fascinating and you have a pleasant voice perfectly suitable for educational purposes. Cheers!
Wow, with the storms on Saturn the pattern it produces reminds me of Vincent Van Gogh's paintings
Fluid dynamics. 🙂
I love this channel! The universe is bigger than all the minutiae going on here on our planet!
Many thanks for your channel and all information sharing with us
Wow, would a wonderful video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait to see more

Thank you for making these. I am fascinated by the technological advancements.
Man, you know the art of making spectacular videos.
Wonderful video about this beautiful planet ^_^ .. Saturn is my favorite planet.. It looks so small in my telescope, but the fantastic rings are still very clear and fascinating
Have been waiting for this one!
That backlit pic of Saturn and its rings and earth was fantastic!!
"Much zoom".
That got way too technical for me.
