That performance is a freakin' masterclass for live bands everywhere ! And that was for free, on a street corner ! As for being under the radar, don't forget that he was severely limited by his own health between 2010 and 2016. And he is doing all of this without a record company. Thank God, he is being discovered now and I just hope his health improves so that we can hear even more from him - it is what he is here on this Earth to do.
Ren is from Wales. he lives in Brighton. Great little band. I hope he grows organically as he has been doing. A big record company would wreck his project.
He is 33 today. He was ill through most of his twenties. 23 hours in bed some of it. I think he's done incredibly to produce all the wonderful music during that time. Hoping for health for him and even more 🎶🔥

I don't think he was big in the UK before Hi Ren. I introduced my brother to Ren and he lives in London and is a devotee of music and his wife comes from Brighton. Ren is a musical avatar.

The most accurate comment I can make is to point out just how influential the pressing of vinyl in the UK was. And often, specifically Jamaican and afrocentric music. And american blues/jazz. (UK pressed Jamaican vinyl, sold it homeside and sent shipments to jamaica for the dancehall scene). Repeat. Immigrate to and fro. Repeat. The 1960's and 70's were a wild couplet of decades for underground music and cultural clash in the UK. The culture exchange over such a short amount of time is absurdly beautiful.

Ren was signed by Sony at age 17, but fell ill with what turned out to be Lyme Disease - was misdiagnosed for years and had many physical and psychological/cognitive symptoms. He was dropped by Sony once he got sick and was basically unable to function for years! After getting a stem cell transplant in 2016, he was able to begin building his career again and has done so as an independent artist. He has continued to experience debilitating symptoms resulting from the long-term Lyme damage, which is why he is in Canada, receiving specialized treatment. I am mostly homebound and found UK Busking videos. In scouring the UK busking videos I found Ren. So, in searching the 4 corners of Brighton, I found Ren. I mainly use this profile for music and have my original profile for movies etc so that I can control my own algorithm a bit.
Their band cover is the best thing , sympathy of the devil, lonely boys, my generation , are something that i keep coming back too, its just so good, we all know ren is talented, but in those cover Goran and Romain really shine.
