  • Make suggestions to share your ideas and offer alternatives, whether you're talking about where to go for dinner with friends, brainstorming in a business meeting, or problem-solving with colleagues.
With 12 effective sentence starters, you'll have absolute confidence that you're using the right collocations and grammar structures to express your ideas, recommendations, and plans when making suggestions.
Not only will you learn how to offer suggestions in casual and professional conversations but you'll also learn how to make a suggestion that you know may be unexpected or surprising to your listeners but you want to make sure they listen to you fully before they say no.
Throughout the lesson, you'll also learn commonly used English phrasal verbs and collocations as well.
If you would like to see all the example sentences I provide in the video, you can visit my online lesson: www.speakconfidentenglish.com...

Thank you, Annmarie. I enjoyed your lesson. I heard some people saying: This is a little weird, but what about if we... Is this correct? Is it too informal?
I like the sentences that you taught in this video. They are polite and don't sound pushy. Sometimes English learners, like myself, might sound rude at times, but your videos are providing us with better word choices.
Have you considered taking an English lessons with a private tutor?
This is a little outside the box, but what if we take a 5 minutes break, let's do some knee high, jog in place and then we can continue our meeting.
Hear me out for a moment, what if we stop doing cardio everyday, instead let's start lifting light weights every other day.
Thank you again for your outstanding lesson.

Wonderful examples here, Mie! You've followed the structure perfectly.
And great question. "This is a little weird but what about if we..." is definitely another alternative we can use. I would say it's more casual, so it's great to use with people you know well, including colleagues.

Hi dear Annemarie, this is Francesco from Italy/Brazil and I subscribed the channel just a few days ago as I find your lessons very clear and helpful. As for today's one, I enjoyed the expression "to throw out one's own idea", I'll try to use it at work. Additionally, I was just wondering whether we can also use such suggestions to talk to ourselves...Something like... "I was always feeling uncomfortable with my English, so I eventually talked to myself and said 'why don't you check out on UA-cam if there is any tutorial or course that is worth getting subscribed to?'" . Best regards, Francesco
