This bottle came with my purchase but no description on how to use it until I watched this vid. Thank you Sir for making the difficult simple. There are many newbies but manufacturers don't consider this. I did not even know the diff between oil for mixing and oil to add to the engine. Its all muddled up and manufacturers should be explicit in their advertisement
This is 2 stroke engine, The fuel must be use 2 stroke engine oil mix with gasoline, if not will damage the engine.you can use car engine oil for chain , cause only for chain not fuel .
Ive been using chainsaws and mixing 2t oil for years and I dont understand a word of that. whats the logic in filling the 2t oil side up to the 10 mark give you a 25 to 1 mix?
Considering your comment is 2 years old, I'll respond here in hopes that you're notified of my reply... There are multiple "10" marks. Each 10 mark is at a different volume in relation to the strength of the mix. On the left side of mine, it reads 50:1 and the mark is much lower on the oil side. Inversely, the 20:1 side had the mark about 2/3 up the oil side. Each "10" marks the correct oil level for that specific mix, in relation to the 10 mark on the fuel side. Hope this makes sense.
@@halfassranch8363 You need to check your math, 2.5 gallons = 320 fl oz. 320 / 2.5 = 128:1 ratio. Stihl mixes 2.56 (2.6) oz of oil with 1 gallon of gasoline (128 / 2.56 = 50:1 ratio)
the 10 on the side of bottle represents 1 liter. the bottle is metric. on the spine of the bottle is various ratio markings.25:1, 30:1. 40:1, 50:1. fil the oil on the spine compartment to the 10 for the ratio you want. so look at the 25 then look down below it for the 10. fill the oil to that mark. cap bother the gas and oil then shake like the video shows. if you want 40:1 find the 40 then fill to the 40s "10" mark.
@Rocks N Ruts no. That incorrect. The 40 represents the ratio. The 5 and 10 marks represent the amount of oil for that ratio to mix when the fuel is at the 5 or 10 mark on the side of the bottle.
@@MrSGL21 man there is a reason so many ppl r confused....my entire dirt bike life i put 4oz in 1 gal PERFECT n ez! now ppl tlk mark ml liter etc.....plus the just the chinese send with items???? but i think i follow u now ill check tomorrow, but that is an odd thing to do
Bottles I've seen have a 50:1 scale on one side and a 40:1 scale on the other. You fill the oil to the mark that matches the mark the gasoline is at on the appropriate scale. Typically it's marked "1" or ".5" for 1L or 0.5L (you can mix as little as 1/2 a liter with most bottles of this design)
The bottle comes from a Chinese manufacturer. Most Chinese 2 strokes run 25:1. The '10' Mark is a reference for mixing. I have the same type size bottle but it is marked 1 Instead of 10. The mark is on the main fuel compartment and the oil compartment.
@@RocksNRuts4 Depends on the bottle but generally no. Often times there will be a 50:1 scale on one side of the bottle and a 40:1 scale on the other. How much oil you put depends on how much gas you put, if you fill the gas to the "1" mark then you fill the oil to the "1" mark on the appropriate scale. If you fill the gas to only the ".5" mark then you fill the oil to the ".5" mark. It's setup this way because you can mix 1L or 500ml (0.5L) at a time with the bottle.
Finally a video that's straight to the point and simple to understand 'Thank You'
Just bought a mini tiller and THIS.! This vid was really HELPFUL. Thank you for sharin’.

About time GREAT VIDEO 25.1 easy peazzzzzz😊
Which oil can i use for the chain??
Thanks you so much for clear instructions
So are you saying to get 25:1 mix you fill the oil to the 10 mark and then the gas to the 10 mark? Trying to understand the markings
same here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in the US we use 40 or 50-1 marks
Not on a 25:1 mixture
@@RocksNRuts4 If it's the same as the jug I have, the other side is labeled for 50:1. It's really a clever design.

Thank you so much!
I like many have 1,000hrs running 2-cycle engines. I don’t get the 24:1 thing other than a tank for break in.
Why do you mix fuel with the oil, can I use car fuel by it self in my chainsaw.

@@officehuyosen6878 ok thanks
Bar and chain oil is tacky so it will stick to the bar and chain. Car oil will not give you the same protection.

NO!

All stihl saws mix oil 50:1 im trying to figure the mix ratio out too

best explanation i have seen so far how to use the mixing bottle
What does 10 represent? ML? OZ? or Is that percentage ratio? Cannot be ML because you need 20ML per liter. Interested on buying one of those bottles.
