Congratulations Tom, you deserve to come up trumps. We are very pleased to see all your super finds, you are a good man Tom, always in our hearts and minds like a true, fair dinkum brother.👍✌️✊❤️
Absolutely Chocka Block mon That is the kind of Woodland dump that makes a man feel like a Child feel like he's in a candy shop . So much glass and the potential for some beautiful early stuff . Beautiful glass and all just under the surface . Fookin Buzzin ! ! Dreams are made here squuuuuueeeee . .
Fantastis tom, love your video, been watch them a long time now.this would have to be one of the best, cannot wait for the spades and fork..from kenny in australia
I had a site like that. Used a hand claw. Frustrating because it's mashed down again and again to take up less space. Then gravity too,... anyway, only the super chunky - or lucky survive unscathed.
Yes everything sparkles. Under the surface. I Don't know what it's like in other countries but most tips I have dug when ever there is air pockets in the ash the glass and pottery gets a thin mineral deposit that looks like glitter in the light With the slightest touch it comes off Only ever seen it on bottles that's never moved since the day they were chucked away
Obviously you are a very experienced bottle digger and consider this to be a very promising site, but to me it looks like this has been dug perhaps 20 or more years ago as there seems to be a lot of broken stuff. If this is untouched and from the late 19th century I would have expected it to be deeper and covered by a century of accumilated soil/leafmould. I hope I am wrong and that this tip produces hammies, lids and all sorts of goodies etc ...😊
Thanks for the comment mate . You know your stuff and absolutely correct about the tip should be under 150 years of build up but with out going into to much detail this site has suffered some recent water erosion stripping about 10inc of the surface exposing the bottles and a mass of roots

There were some really great bottles in this dig. It’s so dangerous digging with your hands though so be careful😊
I'm glad that there are still a few dumps left to be discovered.
Very hard to find now though

Tom, think you change your name to "Stealth Digger" lol.... great finds!
I like it 😅!
Great video tom what do you do with all those beautiful bottles?
Most of them are going into storage I'll be opening a shop up again soon
What date are you putting on those bottles etc
At the min about 1890s those big hammis 1880s or older
All the broken ones on the surface look like the work of bored kids throughout the decades.
8:22 What is the name for that kind of neck/top?
Singer sewing machine oil from the singer machine company in Clydebank next to Glasgow

Good idea on the hand claw mate
Your description is almost spot on small house tip and almost everything has been bashed down to save space
If somebody had already dug an area would you be able to tell easily?
