I received my drivers license in 1972 remember a Dodge that had a push button gear shift on the dash noting new here! great vehicle for 2019!

I love transmission buttons, much better idea than shifter. Super convenient and intuitive.
They had the push button gears back in the day
It also has USB C which is interesting. One of the first GM vehicles to get it IIRC.

Once again, great review, Tyler! This updated design makes this vehicle appear a lot more attractive looking! I really admire the clean/simplistic layout of the interior. As well as, the very spacious appearing cabin.
It center stack design also offers everything you'd expect without being overly clustered. Furthermore, that floating rear roofline was a pretty neat design touch on GMC's end, as well! Keep it up, N&T Auto Reviews! 👍🏽

Hey which on of the Buick Encore gx did u review cause it had a arm rest cup holder in the back I watched ratis ride he had the st one and it didn’t have just was wondering cause thinking about one

I love the new design this vehicle comes with, along with it's high tech package. if I have anything to complain about it would be the BLURRY BACK UP CAMERA. I wish there was a way to probably upgrade it to an HD camera, other than that am just happy with it.

The 81 cu ft of cargo with front passenger seat folded is best in class.
it's silly to complain about a "shifter". automatic transmissions shift for you! I'd rather have the open spaces to put stuff in. if I want to really drive the car then I take my 5 speed Civic for a spin. something really wrong with automatic drivers wanting shifters when it's really the car driving them
so so so nice... its turbo makes you feel that you are driving a small V6... so much torque esp at low end... now go drive an import... you need to make it SCREAM every time you want to move.
Great review. Do you know if the back seat still slides back and forth and reclines like my 2015 Terrain? Also, what is the other color interiors offered in cloth?
+Mark Alfarone I believe the rear seat reclines, not too sure about the back and fourth movement. Cloth colors are the Jet Black or Medium Ash Grey and Jet Black. Thanks!

+daymeon carr I've never been in a new Terrain Denali, however the first generation Terrain like you've got was for sure one of my favorite SUVs!
That gear selector is a big afterthought, everything else is nice.
One of these is one sale for $13k with 31k miles. I might go for it.

I’m sure you can order it as an accessory. If you’re really interested ask the parts department of your local GMC dealer.
Turned off by the automatic shutoff at stop light feature and the deletion of the gear shift knob turned to push button, and gm has been having many problems with the 8 speed transmission no option for 6 speed in the new terrain.
+capt Morgan The only way you can get a 6 speed is with the Diesel engine.
Wheels totally remind of Pontiac rims.
Nice car but a fan of that high rear side waistline. Reduced visibility. Also no v6? It's GM brothers have a v6 option.
No V6, the Equinox is also strictly 4-cylinders too! You have to step it up to the Cadillac XT5 to get an SUV of this size with a V6 from GM

I was shocked to find my subaru outback is larger on the inside. I was looking at this vehicle but I think I made the right decision with my subaru.

A lot of Automatics are electronically controlled now days, this one just has buttons over a "knob" or a dinky leaver.
Very BEAUTIFUL truck! Actually looks better than the Acadia.

I don't like that side profile...seems gmc lost their design mojo and just copied a bunch of other designs....Lexus RX for example. What do u think of it Tyler?
And interior is ok, but I'll never buy a car w pushbutton/dial shifters...I like a nice console shift. But I'm stubborn that way and I suppose all transmission shifters will be that way soon. Bummer

+rod22lt the side with the floating roof design looks like the Nissan Murano or yeah the RX 350, not a bad thing, that's a good looking SUV! I 100% agree with you on the "shifter" situation. I don't get why they can't just leave something that works alone haha. Not only are they electronic, but it probably drives up the price too… but overall the new Terrain is a real nice car! Especially in a lower trim like this one.

It looks like they are trying to copy the styling between the rear door and the tailgate of the Lexus RX and Nissan Murano.

i dont know but that interior looks kinda cheap to me. my definite options so far are between the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2018 Chevy Traverse.

I AM SO GLAD I bought my 2016 Terrain when I did!! Still to this day I haven't seen one like mine or as sick looking!!! This one looks terrible!! Smh!!!

TUNGTABLE338 well I have 256 horsepower and I do my own repairs and check ups on the car once in a while because my father owns a shop , but I’m pretty sure it would be a INTERESTING race , and thanks you aswell (I’ve had a gmc vehicle since 2003 lol)

Gm's fit and finish is still crap.
Why is GM so predictably terrible at interior designs. In comparison to pretty much every other car company, their interiors look like they're 20 years put of date. The plastic lowers are the same crappy material that was in the GM cars in the 90s. The seat always look sub par and the centers stack looks like it was designed in 2003.
Shocking you see 100 Davis and CRVs to every Terrain. Why bother.
Literally one of the worst redesigns ever. This completely ruins what a Terrain is. Nothing about this looks good. I was disgusted when seeing them at the auto show in Chicago. Nissan started the floating roof design, and is the worst looking thing ever on a car. They then put it on most their vehicles. Lexus copied it....for whatever f'd up reason. Why the hell would a more upscale company copy anything from Nissan is beyond me, especially that stupid design feature. The RX rear end now looks amazingly horrible. Now GMC is copying it.....WHY???
This guy is just trying to find good things to say about this car. In the front door panel, "here's a nice shelf here to put your change in or something." Uhhhh, who would put loose change in that and listen to it rattle all day?
Sorry, this car car is a huge pass! You'd be way better off getting a used 2017 Terrain Denali.
