Yes they are doing that. Public transit is gaining a lot of traction here in the US with all major cities in the midst of expanding or upgrading their metros and transit infrastructure. All major airports like Portland, Pittsburgh, Denver, DFW, LAX,JFK are getting or have already started expanding and renovating their entire infrastructure. 2 high speed rail projects have started construction with more than 5 in the design and planning phase. Not to mention the countless chip fabs and new factories opening up. The future looks bright for American infrastructure. Now the crucial part is to get proper management to make sure we don’t go ridiculously over budget like in the last couple decades and keep investing periodically instead of waiting for several years to get projects going.
Qatar was a shit show. You had to live in tents in the hot and cold extremes. No proper food and drink options. Only flashy stadiums with half empty seating. The matches themselves were thrilling but their infrastructure was just flashy on the outside with no substance inside. People will have a lot more to do during the 2026 World Cup.
This is our chance to build denser, more pedestrian friendly neighborhoods around AT&T stadium. Our endless urban sprawl isn't financially or environmentally sustainable, I'd hate for the world to come to Arlington and see nothing but sprawling, boring buildings and empty parking lots but that is how most of the DFW looks. America needs to change the way it builds it's cities.
