Sampling vs Content ID: Why Can’t I Use Non-exclusive Samples in My Release?

- What are Content ID systems, how do they work and why have they been blocked on my release?
Content ID systems identify copyrighted material and ensure rights holders are fairly paid. With RouteNote, anyone can upload to UA-cam Content ID, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok for free and start earning money from their music used in videos across these platforms.
If you've received an email from us saying that Content ID stores have been blocked, this is likely due to the use of non-exclusive samples. Regardless of whether they are paid or free, non-exclusive samples can be used by anyone, therefore causing issues on these services. Read the license that comes with the sample pack. If you are using a sample from the sample pack it will say that it is royalty free once you have purchased the sample pack which gives you a non exclusive license over all the samples, beats and music in that pack. Other people can use those too, and content ID cannot be used and should not be used when people use sample packs, but some idiots do it anyway and it creates a headache on many of us who have used bass and drum samples on our tracks only to be hit with a content ID... which is not legal. Also drum beats are not copyrightable. So therefore if you just released a track with just drums no one can claim you violated copyright unless you are taking the sample directly from another song.

How long on average does it take for a Content ID dispute to be claimed after it is approved?
Claims can sometimes take up to 4 weeks to be automatically placed from ingestion of the release to the Content ID system.
We can manually claim videos with matching audio for you if they've not been picked up automatically after this timeframe has elapsed.
So can I use Cymatics sample packs? Cause they are royalty free.

Hello, iv checked the description, it doesnt mention anything about vst plugin of choir or piano. No other artist’s samples or loops. Just vst plugins. I have issue with tunecore not understanding the difference
I have used all my original made track or beat then why routenote is not approving my song to content id platforms like facebook instagram etc.

Its says my release is approves but can't give you content id and your relalease block youtube tiktok and instagram facebook but this is available to you as a store

Once your request has been received, the Moderation Team can review your dispute and get back to you with their reply via email. Your submission should be reviewed within 5 working days, however, times may vary in busy periods.

Please ensure your artwork is in JPG/JPEG format, no larger than 25mb and dimensions of 3000 × 3000 pixels.
Audio must be formatted in stereo as a FLAC or MP3 file. This must be at 320kbps/16 bit and the sample rate should be 44.1kHz.
