The red dome light is for night shift guys. Red doesn't compromise your natural night vision like white light does. They're usually used for ticket/citation and report writing at night.

You tested the Tahoe SSV, not the PPV. The calibration isn’t certified in the SSV and the wheels aren’t that of PPV. Special Service rated vs. Pursuit rated differs quite a bite with all the amenities each model gets.

Right on, top speed says 140 ppv reads 150 top speed

Thank you so much for this review! I bought a 2018 PPV Tahoe and the sticker for the “anti theft” was so faded I had no clue what it did or said. The only thing that was stripped out was the radar system. Mine was the sheriffs personal PPV from Montana or somewhere. Got it almost a year ago and it had 160k miles and I paid 17k for it. They’re amazing trucks and no one should hesitate to get a PPV or SSV as there’s more standards put on fleet cars to have routine maintenance done.

You can buy a Tahoe ppv at auctions at a very reasonable price

I'm getting ready to purchase a 2019 PPV as a personal vehicle. Even the spotlight still works and the Tahoe still has that official look that will probably cause people to look in their rearview mirrors and change lanes. It has just under 60k miles. What are some common complaints that agencies have had with this model year for the PPV?

I personally own a 2009 PPV 2WD I bought from a car alot that only sells old police vehicles. They have many to choose from. So I dont know where your getting you information at when you said you can't buy them, I live in Indiana my Tahoe is from Ohio.

Because you can't. Not brand new.

@@PalmettoNDN obviously not. You can legally purchase a decommissioned tank, but not a new one 😂

I think this review is just miserable. It seems that it isn't your type of car or maybe journalism isn't very professional. Here we have just couple of complaints about car but nothing really useful. Is it worth to buy, how it handles, how it accelerates - we don't know. Any statistics, comparison to regular Tahoe - no. I hear no fun in this review.
Btw I read the article, it's short and very general.

That's actually an SSV not a PPV. PPVs are not 4WD

Colin P should be a function of all police sirens.
