Chris absolutely killed it with his shifts. Amazing shift and car. The Civic Driver cant shift. I mean I drive on the wrong side (Left side) but I would shift better than the civic driver. He was hitting the limiter like crazy. No wonder he broke it
Thats just how u drive turbo hondas, u hit the limiter until next week, otherwise u will be out of the power band next gear.

If its FWD it'll defo spin. At that point u wanna rev limiter until wheelspeed matches the gear, then shift.
But this is AWD, literally only spins first gear, boi can't seem to shift for shit. Or he has to get a sicko short shifter or gotta practice more 😳

Both cracking cars, that S3 being a homebrew build is an absolute rocket. Was not expecting a 10sec quarter out of it! Look forward to seeing the civic again that thing launches SO hard, not suprised it eats diffs. Mad! Drivers ability to just be "yeah was fun, we will be back better and stronger" after breaking what must be his pride and joy, you know....sign of a top guy!
@Gokhan Guler more hp doesn't always mean faster. The S3 had amazing balance and exceptional gear changes on the day. All about making the most of what power you have.

@Gokhan Guler in a drag race yeah you do need to have good shifts, because youre a mechanic dont make you a driver. im also into hondas and you can clearly see him dropping back smashing it off the limiter 3rd and 4th gear and shifting slow as fuck while matey comes by shifting like a weapon

That's nitrous helping for you. Takes almost all turbo lag away . Especially useful on small displacement Motors with big turbos

People think you can powershift an all wheel drive civic. But in reality they can't. Guaranteed to break something. That's why most all wheel drive civic including drag race ones you a sequential or air shifter.

Sick vid Jamie, i honestly cant believe the s3 between the r34 which is an absolute beast running 800hp. Got to say this is down to the driver. The civic driver had slow shifts and was hitting the limiter unintentionally, I think my nan could shift faster haha. S3 drivers shifts were on point, he's obviously been watching DMO with DSG😂😂.

@@luisro7782 if it was fwd u have to limit it to match wheel speed with rpm or it will give u a big drop off in rpm for the next gear but awd no need to limit cause it has traction
Driving a boosted k20 you have to touch the limiter 1 -2 times before shifting in 1st & 2nd or you'll fall out of boost in the next gear

Seemed like the civic was spooling up quite late and the boost had to build back up after every shift, that’s why every gear change the Audi was gaining ground.
Maybe because they took 5 seconds each gear change
Bigger turbo is not always better , I got an Audi A3 1.8T 8L with ko4 , raced my friends golf 1 with 20V conversion with A Gt35 turbo , car makes makes Almost double the power of Mine and I still beat him to the quarter mile , "he doesn't talk to me anymore"... lmao

You can hear the dump in power band every shift.. bouncing off limiter makes it even worse.
In addition to that running a stock crv diff is asking for it.

That Civic needs some dialing in but it's stupidly rapid. The lad with the S3 is a legend, that looked like some gravel group B rally launches and he smashes the gears like a sequential gearbox. These two cars are probably the best budget tuner platforms, period.
Fair game to the civic guy first time ever racing, but the experience of racing his S3 and building it himself deffo gave the edge

Not the k-series box mate. Been building hondas for 10+ years. They unfortunately are made of chocolate compared to the old school b-series. Especially the k crv awd box
