Considering his old vlogs , and just how much he struggled with love, almost believing, in my opinion, that he would not be able to find someone I’m happy with how much he has evolved.
I remember, it took him a long time to get over someone :( it was hard not to feel empathy.
just talking about just his own heart aches and feeling self-conscious, which always surprises me, because he is so handsome and smart, you would figure women would be just throwing themselves at him.
And if I could blunt , I don’t really care if he’s mistyped . I do believe he’s an INFJ, but if he’s an INFP what does that change about him? Does that change all the cool things he’s done and all the people he’s reached. He’s reached people since day one. He is one of a kind.
And before you accuse me of fawning , I am married lol we both enjoy Franks work :-)

I remember those vlogs too (and miss them). I watched it a few months after his first video. 🥲
I totally still feel as he did at times - but I've often convinced myself I couldn't do something for awhile (inhibit myself). I'm an Enneagram 6 so it's very prominent. As a kid, I predicted I would never learn how to read or be good at cursive. I'm great at it. I convinced myself I couldn't hold a full time job (due to past work trauma) and live on my own. But with putting myself out there, people helped me do just that once I took the initial steps, even when terrified.
I like his idea about narrowing down main aspects to what we need in a partner. What is essential? Ni power.
Now I'm starting to believe I can get a Bachelor's degree with lots of research for my 10 year plan. I can dream lofty and try to find means to make more money and live a life more true to my needs and eventual desires. But even if that doesn't pan out as expected, I'm inspired by what he shared one on his podcast some years back: what are the essential aspects of the goal/dream you have and how can you rework it if needed? He has a theatre degree and now has a successful channel. He learned how to do the tech stuff and what landed well for others through patterns. He has a meaningful following and is a revolutionary!
I think Joyce is also a revolutionary. I absolutely love what she does, her engagement, questions, knowledge, leadership and inspiring others to come together! Invaluable!
Both inspire me so much when I see a dark future ahead, projecting doubt from only what I've known and held onto. There's more to be experienced, and I'm NOT the same exact person I was from those past impressional points. Narrative is important 😁

I know he said that he doesn’t really like them, because he’s such a different person now . And you can tell he’s very different now. I mean the same old funny, handsome FJ but definitely different. Even his tone of voice and facial expressions, he just looks happier, and not as dark if that makes sense. I was scrolling through UA-cam one day and three suggest the videos came up. His first video, one of his videos with his beard and is his 1 million subscribers video and I thought I was looking at three different
I wish that I would’ve found this channel back then, because I think it would’ve helped especially with the community that was there. But I’m glad to watch them now because they make me laugh, I have cried at a few of them I’ll confess, but it just resonates with old me from back then and how far I’ve come. Timmy, in a MoshPit will always make me laugh. Even thinking about it makes me laugh.
And yes Joyce is amazing as well :) I think we have found the positive section of UA-cam. :-)

This was such a great interview, Joyce your questions and feedback are always so insightful 💜. I'm also an INFJ married to an ENTJ so I loved hearing Frank's experience and perspective. Co-parenting with someone on the Te/Fi coin can be challenging but it does create good balance. Frank is also so inspiring to me being a Play laster. I'm really trying to learn how to respect my SF Play so I can be of better service to people. Love hearing both of your processes on balancing "people pleasing" feminine Fe messaging with masculine Ti logical and accurate information. So helpful 💜 Thank you both! But I think what people don’t understand is that people who prefer Te, we actually enjoy choosing efficiency and it’s actually fun, its not a chore, its like wow that feels really good because it’s the thing that made most sense, like yes we’d appreciate someone making us food as a gesture and all but if it’s not what’s most practical in the moment it can feel like…why aren’t you actually helping towards what really needs to be taken care of? Because it would feel 100% better, but I can see how that would be perceived as harsh.

I'd be really intrigued to see examples of things like INFJs being unsympathetic to see how that goes in the comments. I'm an INFJ myself and I get more annoyed by the sweet innocent snowflake stereotypes as INFJs can be so rational when there actually is an emotional problem. We use feeling all the time but I feel when there's actually a problem I can suddenly flip into my Ti effortlessly which can come across as problem solving and unsympathetic at times.

@Moondust Frank is a Ne-Si user. The Enneagram 4 is probably because of his strong Fi use. It is also obvious from body language. Comparing Joyce here with him, how she is staring in the distance in a fixed point (and generally having a heavy gaze) and her body becomes weighted when she is thinking or focusing on a thought, while he fidgets constantly and has a naïve, playful look in his eyes. Opening his eyes widely when he is thinking about something.

    • @grababundoberni
      @grababundoberni Рік тому +1

I am Enneagram 1 and yes, when a negative emotion takes over me or I feel frustrated I can be quite zero cute and zero mercy. Did I run out of compassion, or was that person undeserving of my compassion? I do try Fe response for a start at strike one, but seek Ti solutions to find that out if it reccurs...and generally if I ever need to ask myself that question more than once...it is a mixture of both of the above.

Real pearls of wisdom to emphasize the unified, non-judgmental design of MBTI: (Joyce) “Instead of seeing type as a label, I see it as a filter for incoming data, and a filter for outgoing action.” (Frank) “It’s not that they’re a bad ‘whatever MY type is,’ it’s that they’re being THEIR type.” Magnificent work, y’all!

I appreciate all both of you do in your unique ways. Along with Love Who and Dear Kristen Frank James has brought a lot of humor to a subject that society underrates. Since both me (INTP) and my fiancée (ISFP) both enjoy your channel, you clearly have widespread support. I can relate to your dating experience. I initially wasn't that attracted to my girl, but she seemed so nice I decided to give it a shot. I think the low tension going in made for a no mask dating experience and I saw practically that we both just made sense. Understanding how ISFPs thought going in I was able to avoid the landmines of dating one's superego type and help her get me. We've had virtually no serious fights in almost 3 years as a result.

So cool to see how Frank evolved through his journey with MBTI/ UA-cam to now. Yeah Joyce, Brad is definitely INFJ. It’s weird hearing Frank talk about his early fatherhood experiences, Brad is so this. My Te even in the third slot gets punchy when I’m caregiving since I’ve worked charge nurse and NICU. And Brad has Chaplain background… the reason why I chose Brad INFJ was because I was raised by my ENTJ father. I can handle blunt and I think that’s what the NTJ’s like about me since I can slam it back. But, I was definitely bruised and hurt by that. Brad INFJ has become this alpha through fatherhood and honestly, my father chills around him in a way that I’ve never seen even from my ISFJ mother. INFJs are my favs since over time, in long term situations that’s when you get to see the dominant Fe Ti Se ethics master come in. Brad currently is insanely effective in managing our navigation of long term financial savings and I purposely had him learn from me and then passed the reigns over time as he became more confident with it. Things are different when your parent is an ENTJ. I was expected to handle insane amounts of responsibility early on in life and finding a spouse had bizarrely high standards just in general for me since my half Asian background TE dominated childhood just has me in extreme lockdown mode. These decisions are so extremely important to me, but when I met Brad it was like oh my gosh… he’s the real deal so that took time and he easily intimated me and also kept me calm. Dating was so calm and evolved from the stronger roots of friendship. We’ve been through twenty years of life, colleges, volunteer corps, grad programs, moves, ministry, nursing, marriage and two kids. Brad is the best decision that I’ve ever made. To me the INFJ is the sage of all sages. Watching my ENTJ father who has mastered life on several planes, the man was a crafty genius, be humbled and flat lined by the strength in this personality type and just Brad. You have to be willing to watch it grow though and have patience because there is an Fe Ti door slam that is always a bit there. But the bond is real and extremely deep. You need to bring your real self, your A game and no pretentious nonsense to the INFJ relationship. Best and most intense relationship I’ve ever experienced… it is the fairytale honestly, I feel like I married a Wizard Elf Prince. That’s honestly real❤. So happy to see I see INFJ’s bloom, happens once in a lifetime and is a season to behold.

When you were talking about Enneagram fours, a friend of mine also said that there was a big stretch of time where she typed as a four and felt like a four, but she doesn’t even think she is one anymore. I wonder if the wings have something to do with that. I’m a four wing five and I really feel like when I study 5, and really be aware of my weaknesses I don’t feel so much like a stereotypical 4, I become more cognizant of those blind spots and I can work on them :-)

The ENTJ and the INFP would also connect on that intuitive level while the ESTJ and the INFP would just suffer to understand each other's opposing perception preferences. And 2 Si users getting together? Not sexy. Not buying it. No INFP would suffer that pairing for long.

You INFJs have so much wisdom to offer when you grace us with your Ni/Ti. So often you deflect attention. As a lead Ti, I am fascinated and a bit triggered by the last 5 minutes of this video. It feels so wrong to compromise on those truth nuggets by wrapping them in Fe. This has come up a lot in my life recently - I am a writer and my instincts for the direction of a story often fly in direct opposition to my beta readers' preferences. I will change a character name or the colour of an outfit, but anything more and I lose interest in the project.

Joyce, i enjoyed this video and your descriptions, and hearing more about FJ's life.
FJ, the skits are fun and yeah you kinda have to jab at the 'weaknesses' of a type, especially when they're in a situation that is opposite from what they thrive in.
but i'm also so down to learn what you feel may be missing from the theory and to have more balanced, feel-good content where their strengths are highlighted just as much. going deeper, yaaaay! or whatever floats your boat. 🩵
